“Not good” Irma stretches his senses to observe their immediate surroundings, straining to find traces of the kenku.

The paladin is utterly confounded by the malodorous gloom.
"This plan was contingent on our enemies being relatively unaware of us. If Teapot has reverted allegiances, we're at a significant disadvantage. Should we press on, or retreat?"
Falshen likewise attempts to perceive any clues which might indicate where the Kenku went.
Perception check: 13
However he slipped - or was spirited - away, your pet Teapot left no trace of his passing. The brief distraction posed by the vile tentacular orb was all it took for the shadows to swallow him whole.
With a silent snarl of frustration, Falshen growls out, "Press on. If these scoundrels have Floon and Teapot alerts them, they may kill him. Recall that they wanted Ranaer; Teapot could inform them of their error. Any delay on our part could prove disaterous to our mission."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ian, chagrined at the development says, “Well he didn’t just disappear. There has to be another explanation. He’s mucking through this mess just like the rest of us. He couldn’t have gotten out of sight in either direction without me seeing him.
Ian looks back behind them and all around the sewer in their vicinity for any clues for Teapot’s escape.

Ian's keen half-elven eyes catch something neither of his human companions perceived - the quick glint of lantern-light on what might well be the tip of a glossy black beak, peeking out from a crevice in the sewer wall so slight that one could walk right by and not even see it, unless the shadows fell just so.
Ian gives no indication that he has seen anything and quietly and slowly steps to the side of sewer so as to be out of view of what he has seen. He then motions to the others to be silent, then mimes a beak with his hands in front of his face, and follows with rough hand gestures indicating the direction and distance of what he believes to be Teapot along this wall.
Falshen quietly nocks an arrow, draws back the string, and aims a few feet in front of the nitch, anticipating his target's angle of escape should the Kenku attempt to flee.
Irma moves slowly and quietly faces almost directly towards where Falshen is aiming at. His body is tense and coiled ready to rush forward should the Kenku attempt to rush them.
Looking about as if he has not seen his companion's gesture, Gregor calls out softly, "Teapot, show yourself. I promised that we would do everything in our power to keep you safe during this venture. I intend to hold true to that if you hold true to us. What say you?"

Akai forgoes his usual bravado in favor of silent caution, but keeps one hand (claw?) free to conjure magical fire should the need arise.

The kenku does not move from the nook in which he's hidden himself, but responds in the nasally voice.
"Follow the yellow signs. Report to Grum'shar. Tell him you've got snake skins to deliver."
Gregor nods, "Do you know where to find me again, when this is over?"
"I don't know," he responds in Gregor's voice.
"You will find me at the Yawning portal in a few day's time."
"A few day's time."
"Gentemen, we know the way, and it would seem that surprise is still on our side. I'd advise we make the most of it."
