"Well praise Pelor for the poor soul we left in the other room, his armour sure stands up in battle" he says while quickly checking himself over for any damage. "Can you three move? We need to find out where these cretins made their way in. I'll grab your arrows Kas, see if y'all can't see some secret way in 'n' outta here" Qiv scavenges anything of importance from the two corpses. "Make haste if you can youngsters"he adds, with the adrenaline starting to subside.
"I've nearly died twice in the last two hours. Our healer is missing, and you and Red have used up your healing spells. I say we grab whatever we can and then burn this place to the ground. I really want to shove Stupid through that door, but we may not have time for that. I guess Omen can string him up while we search." Kas will begin breaking open the footlockers with his hammer and crowbar, starting at the east end of the room and working his way westward. Again he's looking for any kind of papers or valuables. He'll also scavenge the arrows and one of the shortswords off of the dead goons.

Omen
Omen sets himself right and thinks for a moment. he then turns to the party and says:
"We can leave." Omen says and nods towards the old man, "He can serve as proof of what has been going on and they can get the information out of him . I am not sure how we will fair and it could be a running battle but we will make it." He looks to the old man and affirms his statement to the old man with a sight nod.
Omen pauses then says: "If they are coming in here after us,then it's safe to assume they know we are hear and will have an ambush set for us." Omen pauses then says. "What we nee d are answers."
Omen goes over to the old man on the bed. His manner and expression change slightly, softening his appearance a bit but speaking frankly to the old man.
"You are here and we have you." He states to the old man. "Your employer, if he is a shrewd man, will assume your involvement may not just be just prisoner. Your best bet is cooperation with us for a few moments and help our success. Honestly, If we make it, you make it."

Red
"You're a rather violent group for honest traders,"Red tells the man, cast thaumaturgy to make her eyes glow like the fires of hell. "Not to mention hanging out in the hidden basement of a decrepit, secluded house with mysterious lights and stairs that scream at night, presumably when you do most of your work. You can't seriously expect us to believe this is a legitimate operation." As she speaks she walks up to the man and gets right up into his face, her voice low, expression serious.
"As my companion said, we don't have much time so you've got one chance to tell us what exactly you're doing here or you can die just like they did, though probably far more slowly. Which do you think would be worse? Dealing with the dead things through that door or burning to death?"She looks at him imploringly."I want to just leave you alone, I really do. Killing is such a deplorable act, and we've already done so much of it. But there's got to be some give and take you see? Tell us what you know, anything that's helpful and you could just walk out of here."

The lockers contain clothing and personal effects; each also has a coin purse that holds 7 gp and 15 sp. (For a total of 35 gp and 75 sp. Divvy up as you choose, and update your inventories.) No papers, or anything else of value or interest. Four footlockers remain locked, resisting his efforts to force open.

(Didn't Omen use up Red's inspiration with the last fire bolt?) Nevertheless, the pressure on him is taking its toll...
"...Tell us what you know, anything that's helpful and you could just walk out of here."
The old man is terrified, and begins to melt down after Red's speech. Watching two of you return from the dead, watching his rescue deftly foiled, the talk about pushing him through the barred door, and finally Red's thaumaturgically-enhanced threats push him over the edge. "Not here, not here," he whispers, glancing worriedly at the door the woman disappeared through. "Take me upstairs! Outside!" he begs.
The old man is panicky, sweating profusely, and breathing hard. He's beginning to babble. "Upstairs, yes, upstairs, upstairs. Thank you. Thank you. Sanbalet. I gotta get outta here. Upstairs." To Omen's question he add, "Spiders. Signals. Not here, not here."
"More bugs! I hate bugs. But, looking at his reaction, I don't think we're safe here. Grab your gear, I'd say it's time we left." There's an urgency to Qivs voice. "I hate not having searched this whole basement, but I think you're right Kas. We're hurting, a lot. Let's see if we can't find a secure room upstairs to tend our wounds"Qiv grabs his hear and begins to make his way towards the stairs.
"Get me upstairs. Get me upstairs," the old man whispers urgently, his eyes darting between Red, the bodies of the twins, the body of the boy, and the northeast door. "I can't be here. Gemme out." He coughs and begins to pant.
Red stares at the gibbering old man. How had he gone from stoutly ignoring their threats to... this? For a moment she doesn't move as the other get ready to leave before she forces herself to follow. What was that? She asks herself. You're supposed to be a good person! Good people don't turn others into gibbering wreaks... they don't steal either.
"Are we going back up the stairs to the kitchen? The way we know or up these ones." She jerks her chin at the stairs in the room with them but avoids looking at anyone.
Omens turns and his gaze is at the stairs we came down. Without turning he replies to Red's Question. "The way we know rather than a new way." he states.
"Kas"Omen says in a commanding tone. "Stop robbing everyone, we need a scout." Omen pauses, calming his worry so it doesn't over take him then addresses Kas.
"We need to get out and not get killed in the process. Don't clear the way if there is danger just use your skills to help us live through this." Omens says with a half smile. "Any trouble you step backwards and we will move around to deal with what we face."
Omen then takes the rope, lashes it around the old mans neck and says: "Cry out or run and you hang." he says matter of fact-ly.
Omen's intent is to follow with the old man in front and make our way to the first floor, where we came down, kitchen he thinks. He stops the old man and asks.
"What did you mean "Thank you, Thank you Sanbalet.......Spiders, signals, not here, not here?"
The old man, shaky and sweaty and jumpy, is very eager to lead the way back through the wine cellar and up the stairs. He doesn't appear to process or react to anything Omen is saying. He's just focusing on leaving the cellar quickly and efficiently. At the top of the stairs, in the scullery room, he turns and says. "I'll tell ye' anythin ye' wanna know. Jes' promise t' lemme go when yer done. I'll git onna boat or somethin' and you'll never see me ag'in."
"Kas, stop robbing everyone, we need a scout." Kas kicks the stubborn footlocker that refuses to open. "Fine," he says, returning the hammer and crowbar to his pack and arming himself with his new shortsword and dagger. "But before we go, I was serious about burning this place down. If we burn it down, whatever scheme's operating out of here is done, and we can take Stupid back to town to answer the Guard's questions. I think that fulfills our contract.
"So, if we pile up all the blankets from the beds at the bottom of the steps in the bunkroom, douse them with oil, and throw a torch on it, this whole house should go up. What do you think?"
The old man cools off a little once he's upstairs, his panic subsiding.
Hearing talk of burning the house, the old man shrugs nervously. "Yeah, this could use a good burnin'. Lotsa bugs 'n mold 'n stuff. But it won't stop Sanbalet, if that's what yer tryin' t' do. He's in the caverns. Promise t' lemme go and I'll tell ye' whatever ye' want."
"I don't know Kas. There's a heck of a lot that this place hasn't told us yet. You sure burning it to the ground is the best idea?"Qiv seems apprehensive about gutting the building. "If y'all agree, then up she goes, I just don't want to regret not having been thorough. I think we should at least check out the light upstairs"
I presume everyone is at the top of the stairs and in the scullery at this point? As you ascended, the old man instructed you not to step on the topmost tread.
Once we get up the steps Omen will scan the room for threats then make sure he and the old man are not in direct line of the stairs or door.
Omen will ask his question about what the old man had said. If the old man doesn't give a competent response Omen will shake the old man and ask him again.

A search of the two bodies turns up nothing of value other than some poor-quality gear.
Qivys then takes a cursory look around for secret entrances – Investigation: 7 – but doesn't spot anything obvious.

"But ye' gotta gimme yer word me you'll lemme go," he adds quietly. I'll tell ye' what I know 'bout Sanbalet. Everythin."
