(OoC : I've been wracking my brain to find something that is quintessentially Kas. Like Omen and his spellbook. I come up empty. I was going to have Qiv grab the 2 items plus their coin purses and run. I don't like the skittering noises. Q can't take another fight, even if it is with rats)
Qivys
The skittering sound send Qiv's skin to crawling. Recalling what bugs did to his friend, he is becoming extremely nervous.
"Grab what you can and let's get out of here! Deepest apologies my friends, but we need to leave this place. For now at least. We may be leaving your physical body behind, but I will carry both of you with me through my travels"his bow is twofold. A sign of respect, and also allowing him to fish out their coin purses and Omen's spell book. If he sees that there is time, Qiv will also grab Kas' shortbow and quiver.
With items in hand, Qiv heads to the door, out of the kitchen, at what some may call a run (although he would never admit he was running scared).
You manage to quickly and efficiently strip Kas of some of his belongings, including his shortbow and quiver, 52 GP and 92 SP. He has quite an assortment of other equipment, too, including thieves tools, a disguise kit, a crowbar, and a bunch of ball bearings, some of which you almost wiped out on while carrying his lifeless form upstairs. (Let me know what you want to take, and update your sheet(s) accordingly!)
Claire had already taken Omen's pack, which included his spellbook and an unusual pair of spectacles he had found in the shipwreck. (Also a little money - Leapingmountain: Can you tell us how much?)
Finally, the three of you head down the hallway and outside the house, leaving your two comrades on the kitchen floor.
(Kas also had two daggers, a shortsword, and a rapier on him. Mark your inventory accordingly.)
You stand outside the back door of the house. The salty breeze is strong off the ocean, and the long grass dances in the old garden. Claire cautions that Marbles warned her about snakes in the nearby well.
Exiting the house by the Eastern door near the well, Qiv stays closer to the building than he typically might to avoid the well. (Assuming he reaches the path safely) He then turns north and heads out of the property.
The three of you exit the property. You stand on the old coast road once again, two members short. It is early afternoon, and the breeze is cold. Nobody is on the road.
As you stand on the old highway, contemplating your next moves in the chilly breeze, an odd glow appears to the southwest, from the direction of Saltmarsh. An otherworldly shimmer, like a daytime aurora. The distant landscape seems to almost shimmer.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The shimmer grows and approaches, an otherworldly glow that raises the hair on the backs of your necks.
Before you're able to respond, a massive silvery blob like a liquid mirror rises suddenly from the earth at an angle. It slams into the three of you without warning. You try to dodge – Red: 16 Qivys: 4 Claire: 9 – but Qivys and Claire are silently enveloped in the blob. Only Red manages to successfully leap out of the way.
Simultaneously, two figures fall from the blob into the road, a chainmail-clad dwarf and a barefooted halfling with a braid. They plummet some fifteen feet; the dwarf takes 2 bludgeoning damage and the nimble halfling 2.
Also extruding from the blob is about fifteen feet of a skiff, of an alien construction. Hanging from it is an old tattooed man; clinging to the inside of the vessel is a tall, alien-looking humanoid; a second humanoid aboard is partially inside the blob.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The churning silver blob rises rapidly into the sky. About twenty-five feet up, Qivys is suddenly hurled out violently. He tumbles and slams into the dirt, taking 5 bludgeoning damage. The blob accelerates upwards into the sky, taking half a skiff, a dangling old man, and a couple of strange figures with it.
He looks around frantically. "The boy! Where's the boy?" He looks to the dwarf who fell out of the sky with him. "Dwal, did the boy make it out? I had him by the shirt but I don't see him!"
The boy is no longer with you. One minute you had him by the shirt, the next you were hit by a boat through a portal. You don't remember exactly what happened; he must have been wrenched away, or maybe he wrenched himself away to avoid being hit.
There are four of you here - only Red is standing. Two dwarves and a halfling are picking themselves up off the hard ground.
"I've no idea. Something from another plane, I guess? But whatever it was it's taken the boy, that guardsman, and one of these people's friends. We have to report this to the Tower. They're going to want to know where their missing guardsman went. Do you know the boy's name?"
He looks at the pair into whose company they've just been rudely tossed, seeing their bloody clothes. "You two look fresh out of a fight; were you fighting those things before we were dumped out?"
Omen's pack lay nearby, where Claire dropped it trying to dodge the blob.
You see a flash of motion and a distant thud, as something large hits the ground perhaps a hundred feet from you, in a fallow field nearby. It must have fallen from the blob, now a distant dot high in the heavens.
Dazed and completely confused, Qiv makes his way to his feet. Feeling overwhelmed by nausea he promptly empties the contents of his stomach onto the roadway.
"S..so...sorry about that. I don't know what just happened. We were heading back to town and then I was floating in Quicksilver with Claire. There was a boy. A ship. And some... creatures. They were hunting the most beautiful Stag. It....it looked at me, or into my soul. I felt its power. I still do." He continues to mumble as though talking it out will help him grasp what just happened. As his mind comes back to the present he gathers his thoughts. "Apologies. I am Qivys, and this is Red. We just escaped from the mansion back the way a little. We are headed to the temple on the edge of Saltmarsh."

RED
Red will take the thieves tools, disguise kit from Kas and any other weapons their of them has before following Qivys.
(Kas also had two daggers, a shortsword, and a rapier on him. Mark your inventory accordingly.)

Before you're able to respond, a massive silvery blob like a liquid mirror rises suddenly from the earth at an angle. It slams into the three of you without warning. You try to dodge –
Red: 16
Qivys: 4
Claire: 9
– but Qivys and Claire are silently enveloped in the blob. Only Red manages to successfully leap out of the way.

This all happened very quickly.
Welcome to Level 2.
Red and Qivys may update their character sheets accordingly.

"Ain't seen the boy. Been watchin' other things" Dwal yells back.
The boy is no longer with you. One minute you had him by the shirt, the next you were hit by a boat through a portal. You don't remember exactly what happened; he must have been wrenched away, or maybe he wrenched himself away to avoid being hit.

Red
Red just stares at... whatever is happening in front of her. Her mouth open as the silvery blob flies off. With Claire. Damn!
Dwal Fiercehammer
Dwal picks himself up, picks grass and such off his armor saying: "By the Forge what was that all about?"
Peri:
