Peri's wounds won't stop itching. It's absolutely maddening! It's distracting enough that he doesn't really notice the sweat, or the boils until Thwack yelps at his face. Now he waits anxiously to see whether Boko's magical healing is sufficient.
Gerrard finds Rasp's body is too massive to drag. (But anyone may feel free to try to harvest the hide where it lies, with an hour of work and a successful DC 15 Dexterity (Sleight of Hand) or Wisdom (Survival) check; on a failed check, the hide will be damaged but may still have some value.)
The grizzled, one-eyed old woman appears from the cabin of the fishing boat. "Your arrow?" she calls back through occasional gusts of wind with a harsh laugh. "Yeah, you scared the devil out of us with that. How do you fare? What have you learned? Are you ready to depart?"
Peri's symptoms subside soon after Boko casts her spell (and his stats restored.) Her own tingling fingers feel better, too, after her second, self-directed spell.
The ancient gull is friendly, and has a lot to say to Boko. Its name is Virgil, formerly the familiar of Archais, Firewatch Island’s wizard. The bird claims to have survived the slaughter of the garrison ten years before and has lived on the island ever since, nesting in the wizard’s tower room. It fled the island the previous night when the drowned ones attacked, but now that the party has seemingly defeated them, the gull has returned to its home. "I believe you might be the sort of heroes who could finish Archais’s work and end the undead menace," croaks the old gull to Boko. "Tammeraut’s crew must be stopped."
As he walks past, Gerrard informs Boko of the state of Rasp’s body and offers to help when she is ready.
“We are alive and have rescued a few survivors,” Gerrard yells back. “We seem to have uncovered a pirate invasion plot using infectious undead as their foot soldiers. We have some preparations to make and we should give the place another search in the daylight, but we should be ready to leave in a few hours. Feel free to dock it you like,” he adds.

The crew maneuvers the ship closer to the rocky edge of the cove, and the spry captain hops out onto a wet boulder. "Let's get the survivors aboard and back to Uskarn. I think it'll be safe enough to depart when the tide goes out. Hektor seems to have ended his tantrum. That'll give you 'bout three hours. You got one of them dead things' blades? I'd like to see one. What d'you still need to do, anyway? Whatever it is, let's start by getting the survivors on board."
"I know where the Tammeraut is," rasps Virgil in gull language to Boko. "I can guide you there."

The young noble is happy to help the survivors aboard. He plans to Help Boko with Rasp when she is ready, then also scour the place for any other clues or possible treasure (did someone--even the survivor priest--get what looked like a magical holy symbol off the body in the pantry bolt-hole?).

As the boils begin to fade, Peri lets out a relieved shuddering sigh. He'd only just barely been keeping full panic at bay. The last marks disappear as his fever breaks and the itching stops. Overcome with relief he actually attempts to hug Boko, or at least her leg. "Yondalla preserve you and Arvoreen keep you safe! I thought that was the end, and an ugly way to go!" His knees actually wobble a bit as he goes to help Gerrard with the survivors. While he's down there, he will take a look around their bolt-hole with his eldritch sight, paying especially close attention to the dead cleric. Maybe this was what the dead things were after?
Boko spends some time with Virgil, asking him about his life and the last ten years here. He gets a brief rundown of her biography and the recent trials and tribulations (the long list of foes she and the party have accumulated) and she asks if he has anything to share. She asks what he would like to do, stay here or join the party back to the mainland.
When finished, she provides a summary of what Virgil says and asks if anyone wants to know anything.
The two other survivors clamber out of the hole. Barret Gloffrin, a soft-spoken young man, and Morley Tobe, a boisterous dwarf, have joined the living. The dusty armored corpse and its small silver disk remain behind in the bolt-hole. Janore insists that the corpse remain as it was, and that the bolt-hole be resealed. She states that the skeleton is of a fellow priest of Procan, and she credits its whispers for their survival. But Peri senses no magic here; just a musty corpse in a forgotten, but ordinary, old cellar.
Vigil prattles on to Boko the story of the Tammeraut:
Several years ago, a fearsome pirate named Syrgaul sailed the sea aboard his war galley, Tammeraut. Syrgaul and his crew showed no mercy to those who crossed their path, killing the crews of those ships that fell prey to him.
Syrgaul was a mighty sorcerer, and his crew was bloodthirsty and skilled in both sailing and killing. Worse still, Syrgaul claimed allegiance to Orcus, the demon lord of the undead.
Orcus did indeed seem to favor Syrgaul, who often benefited from strong winds in his sails and swirling currents that prevented his prey from escaping. In return, the pirate captain made sacrifices to the demon lord.
Syrgaul eventually met his end just over ten years ago. As he and his crew approached a naval post called Firewatch Island to plunder it, a priest garrisoned at the outpost implored the sea god, Procan, for mercy. Whether because of luck or because the cleric’s prayers were answered, a sudden storm swept through the area, capsizing Tammeraut and sending the ship to the bottom of the sea.
The Drowned Ones are victims of that fateful sinking...
Eventually the spell ends, and Virgil's soft chatterings lose their meaning in Boko's mind.
He doesn't see anything that the undead hordes might be after, so he seals up the bolt hole as Janore insists, though not without a grumble. "Handin' out orders, like it wasn't us that saved their skins... Thinks she's the boss of somethin'... Maybe those two sickos, but I ain't lookin' for more people to take orders from..."
Once the survivors are aboard he tells Gerrard, "I don't really care what else might be on this rock. Boko found a whole pile of stuff and we still haven't figured out what anything but the Sticky Stick does. Let's load up that carcass and get back to Saltmarsh. Oh, and in case I get killed between here and there, you got a package should be waitin' for you at Kester's. Kind of a thank you for the fancy clothes. Give you a little swagger when you get back to your lady."
As Boko appears to be busy, Gerrard helps Peri with Rasp’s body. At Peri’s disclosure, he bows and says, “That is most kind of you, Master Fenwader, though reciprocation is not required or expected. Still, let us endeavor to reach Saltmarsh together and alive, shall we?”

Still feeling a little useless from his failed mission, Thwack spends his time helping, or getting under foot, where his small frame can. He is close enough to Peri to overhear his rant and quickly produces the ring he had been studying. "Here Teri" he hands the finger loop to Peri. "Is ugly, like them, but me thinks it helps you stay free." He indicates towards Peris slippers and grins. "Thwack good for something" he says to himself as he trots off to find someone else to annoy help.

Intrigued by Gerrards attempt to skin the carcass of the big bird thing, he ventures over and attempts some of the more delicate cuts needed to preserve the hide.
After a thorough search of the property and the skinning of Rasp (with Thwack unexpectedly expert help), Gerrard carefully folds up the hide and puts it in his bag of holding.
"Very well-done, Master Thwack, you are a being of many surprises," says the young noble with a wide smile. He then boards with the others, ready to take the rescued hermits to the mainland.

The speed at which he picks up the nuances of hide collecting brings a smile to his face. Gerrards compliment all but negates his own feelings of failure around his slippery foe from earlier. The familiar toothy grin returns in full force. "Thwack is good for something" this time louder and with confidence. As they trudge back towards the waiting boat he hums a tune that sounds very familiar to the nobleman. Perhaps a song he'd heard Kei play back before the trip to save the children, but he can't quite place it.
With Thwack's help, Gerrard is able to harvest the hide of the Monstrous Peryton. It's a huge and impressive hide; the captain's eye widens at the sight of it, and she bursts out laughing. "Old Rasp! Had it coming. Nice shooting, that."
Meanwhile, the three survivors have boarded the vessel. They and the crew are eager to depart, but the captain continues to eye the tide and the rough seas. The rain has ended, the wind only occasionally gusting.
Virgil continues to hang around and watch everyone closely.
The hour of departure comes closer. The captain's vessel is prepared. "You coming with us back to Uskarn?" asks the captain. "Or are you taking on the whole of the undead horde and the Lord of the Abyss himself? You still got your little foldy-boat, right? You'll be heroes in Uskarn already for doing what you did, but don't go and stir up things that ought stay asleep."
Looking at the others and nodding to acknowledge their earlier discussion, Gerrard says, “Let us all sail back to Uskarn together for mutual safety. We can rest and re-provision, give our rescued friends an opportunity to clearly bring their warning to your town leaders, and make a plan together.”
He adds with a smile, “And I believe there was a promise of hot food, cold ale, and a warm bed made for our assistance so far.”

He nudges Gerrard in the ribs. "Better not let your Lady Love hear you flirtin' like that!" he teases the nobleman, deliberately misconstruing his talk of a warm bed. "But yeah, let's get back to this Uskarn. More importantly, let's just get off this island!"
