Despite their impressive contortions, the unearthly yellow creatures are unable to break their bonds.
The Kei impersonator doesn't seem to recognize Peri, even in his impeccable captain's garb. He ignores Peri, and continues to watch the demons struggle on the cobblestones, with what appears to be a traveling companion or two.

Carefully looking at the spirals, Gerrard breaks out his calligraphy set and tries to copy them on a blank page in case they have any meaning. He compares them to the sketch he made of the Aboleth from the prisoner's cell. He looks over the other bodies to see if they have anything of note on them that would give a clue as to what went on here as well.

Qivys does little but look over the scene with some concern. Watching Garrard make his copies, Qivys keeps an eye out for any trouble that might come about while Gerrard works.
Gerrard, Bokobear, and Qivys examine the bloody, chaotic scene in front of them.
Gerrard's sketches match fairly closely. The complicated spirals are quite similar to the ones he saw in the asylum. Some of the blood they are smeared with is not fresh.
The room is a confused mess of industrial equipment, ceremonial trappings, and the poverty of squatters, but the scene is dominated by the evidence of a horrible massacre just moments ago. A circle of wax drippings suggests a recent arcane ceremony of some sort.
One of the bodies twitches and begins to laugh. "Lunch! Lunch!" it cries. It appears to be a human male, covered in blood, his arm nearly bitten off, his eye protruding. "The chains are loosening! Eat it!"
Thwack creeps closer to Peri, trying to remain casual and pretending to observe the scene like everyone else. His tiny brain frantically trying to formulate a plan. "Is it him? Do we grab him? You want me to stab him? We follow him?" He throws a barrage of silent questions at Peri as they stand there calmly.
Gerrard senses this creature is neither undead nor some sort of arcane puppet, but rather a dying madman. He looks not long for this world, and his mind seems just as damaged as his body, if not more so. "I'm ready now," he mutters. "Where's Da?"
Qivys shakes his head and steps forward. "Ye kins waitin' for ya on tha other side lad." he tells the dying man. "Just rest yer eyes fer a moment an' they'll come ta fetch ya." With that Qivys casts Sleep on the injured man. 29 Once the man appears to be asleep Qivys will end the man's life with his axe.

"Any idea what that arcane ritual was all about?" asks Gerrard, adding "We should probably head back out soon--I don't know how long those knots are going to hold the crazy apes."

Bokobear shifts back to herself once the scene seems quiet. She watches and listens, wondering aloud if this is what happened during other attacks. "Perhaps something causes someone to summon a type of demon, which destroys lives, and then escapes of vanishes." Then she places her hand on Qivys' arm after he casts sleep. "I understand this man likely does not have much life to live, but should we not see if he can be healed, and then given time or magic to heal his mind?"
Qivys renders the man unconscious, and prepares to end his miseries.
Gerrard senses there was some sort of unholy ritual - or perhaps an arcane alchemical experiment - gone very wrong. The apes, clearly from another plane or world, must have been summoned here.
Qivys pulls his arm away from Boko. "I've seen war lass most my days," he tells her quietly. "An' a man with wounds like this never heals properly. His mind is always gone an' in deep turmoil with no way comin' back from it an' priests with true healing are rare in these parts. Do ya think these folks would care fer him properly? Tend ta his needs fer tha rest of his days? I'd say no, especially in a place as dark as this one. However, if'n ya can find his kin an' they be willin' ta take care of him fer tha rest of his days, I'll spare him fer their sakes."
”They were summoning something—or perhaps trying to commune with it—when the militia interrupted. Those demon baboons were summoned instead as the ritual misfired, killing militia and summoners alike. I should get back outside and dispatch them before they escape,” says Gerrard.
”Maybe the good doctor can get some answers out of the remaining cultist at the Asylum,” offers the young noble as he goes by.,

Gerrard heads back upstairs and out onto the street where the monkey demons remain securely bound but not quiet – they shriek and howl and snap their teeth, squirming and rolling and straining. The crowd remains curious but is beginning to move again, becoming bored by the spectacle.
Pink-haired Kei and his companion begin to inch forward, slowly trying to get past the pedestrian congestion in front of the old industrial building. Peri and Thwack remain with him.
Qivys and Bokobear are in the blood-soaked cellar with the unconscious, maimed cultist and a lot of fresh corpses.
Qivys, in the interest of getting answers, takes out a copper piece and places it on the sleeping man's forehead, in the direct spot the "Third Eye" is famed to be. After a short gesture and a quick word of "Reveal," Qivys will cast Detect Thoughts (Wis DC of 14). The initial start of the spell is to make contact and read the surface thoughts of the man. If that is established Qivys will dive deeper into the recent memory of the man while whispering: "Show yer Pa how all this happened lad." (in hopes of causing the man to reveal/mentally review what has happened here.)

Boko stands beside Qivys, observing the cultist but her eyes and ears open for anything at all. "Let me know if I should heal him. I trust your judgement."
Perception: 10
She's also looking for anything she missed in the room, any clues or signs of what was going on in here before the ritual happened.
Boko finds wax circles, more florid spirals, a handful of words scratched in tongues both arcane and profane but unidentifiable to Bolo. Bad magic happened here recently, and industrial, probably alchemical work has long been done here.
Qivys finds no immediate resistance to his mental probes into the unconscious, badly maimed form. Pain – a torrent of searing pain – is the first he sees. And madness. Not just the confusion of a ordinary dreamstate but deep mental damage. Potent smells of decaying fish. Fishlike forms bringing ruin to the face of the earth. A hole in the bottom of the sea. A void in space and time. A shrieking babble impossible for mortals to comprehend. A power beyond anything Qivys has ever imagined, but unfathomably distant – farther than the farthest stars. Primal, imprisoned, and ancient.
Qivys breaks mental contact immediately. "They're MAD!" he yells out. "They're tryin' ta bring somethin' inta this world that ain't supposed ta be here." Qivys immediately conveys what he saw to Boko & Gerrard- if he stops for a moment to hear, what he saw in the young man's mind. "This one don't need no doctor." Qivys says sharply. "What he needs is dead." With that, Qivys drives a Mind Sliver into the man's brain. "They are tryin' ta bring that....thing...inta our world so it can feed on it. Well, as long as I'm livin' it ain't gonna happen tha easy way." Qivys storms out to search for the monkey demons and kill them as well.
Boko nods, her mind going back to her brief capture by Xolor, sure in her head that this was all connected. She bends down to the departed, and tries to ascertain what he was before he went mad. Any connections to the previous victims?
She follows Qivys out and helps out down the demon monkeys, in total agreement with him.
