"Can't let the old boy wander off on his own. Someone'll need to carry his body back." Peri hurries after Kei, his decision equal parts concern and curiosity. Roughly equal parts. Catching up to the bard he admonishes,"You better slow down before you get another bolt through your guts!" He casts his mage hand in front of them and has it sweep back and forth over the floor to trigger any tripwires and reveal any more pits, while looking through his Devils Sight for any magical signs.
Dwal watches for a moment then turns and heads back to the front. Once there Dwal will take a look outside again, checking the weather and giant bird thing situation.

As Dwal makes his way back to the front to check events outdoors, Peri catches up with Kei and they begin to press forward down the featureless winding way. Perception: 15 (with a passive floor of 16)
With keen eyes, magical hands, and arcane senses, Peri picks up no new hallway traps. He does, however, see another bit of magic hidden behind the featureless walls from the school of illusion.
All is quiet underground. Peri and Kei's hallway has three exits to choose from.
Moving forward after Kei and Peri, Gerrard says to Dwal and Boko as they are are leaving to go check on the flying creature, “Call out loudly if we are in imminent danger from the flying beast, and I will come as quickly as I can.”
He steps tentatively behind Kei, following in his footsteps, hoping the more perceptive man will see any further traps before triggering them.

As others slowly and tentatively explore the winding hallway, Dwal steps back outside to carefully surveil the situation.
The rain has stopped, but the sky remains black and the winds gusty. The giant bird is nowhere to be seen. The corpse of its victim lay maybe forty feet away in the scrub. The steady, booming roar continues offshore to the west.
Meanwhile, Kei and Peri carefully creep forward. They get a glimpse of a doorway to the north, and more twisting passages to the south. They find neither magic nor anything resembling a trap.
Secretly glad that at least one of his friends has joined him he boldly branches off to his right (North). "Door" he whispers, then louder "Don't know why I whispered that. Ha." His fake laugh betraying his nervousness. He makes his way to the top of the short hall and uncharacteristically waits for Peri.
He he sees nothing that would alarm him he will go and inspect the corpse. He is looking for anything that might identify the corpse or any affiliated groups it might have been associated with.
Kei advances up the northern hallway. Where Peri reported illusory magic, Kei's sharp eyes pick up a subtle shimmer to the floor in the eastern alcove, similar to the acid pit's fake floor they had encountered earlier.
Peri follows, although the floor around the corner looks solid enough to him. Gerrard catches up to the others. Boko remains in the crystal minotaur's room, watching their rear. -
Meanwhile, Dwal carefully inspects the human corpse outside. Definitely a sailor – possibly one of the "Sea Princes" he's heard about. And definitely dead. Its clothing is soaked with seawater, as if it had been immersed when the bird thing attacked.
"Another floor illusion. What do you want to bet these doors are all trapped too? This can't be all those things were guardin, can it?" He offers to open the doors with his mage hand, but only after they take shelter in the tunnel near Gerrard.
The Sea Princes were the folks who recently double-crossed the Abbey cultists and burned it down. Boko, too, has a bad history with the Sea Princes. Many decades ago, Dwal recalls, these pirates who prowl the waters off Saltmarsh had grown strong enough to create their own realm, a loose confederacy known as the Hold of the Sea Princes - to the south and west of here. With the rise of that nation came increased raids on Seaton, Saltmarsh, and their neighbors. The Sea Princes’ raiding ships pillaged the coast for more slaves to support their growing realm, and Seaton and Saltmarsh suffered heavily. Eventually, the Crown raised a navy and dealt a sharp check to the ambitions of the Sea Princes. But the memories of those times loom heavily over the area, and the locals’ hatred of the Sea Princes runs deep.
Peri and Kei step safely back as Peri's invisible hand opens the door to the north. With a thunderous boom, a block of the ceiling falls heavily into the hallway. Another trap. The door opens to nothing but stone wall.
Boko appears next to Dwal as he looks at the body. When she sees that it is someone from the Hold, she starts. She looks at the face to see if it is someone she recognizes.

Gerrard:
As the block smashes down from the ceiling, Gerrard looks at Peri and says, "Useful spell you have there, Captain Fenwader. Perhaps you should open these other doors from a distance as well."
He listens to hear if anything responded to the stone crashing down--or if there might be another scream from the direction of the exit where the flying beast was last seen.
Perception: 12

As the echoes of the deadfall fade Peri shouts back in the direction of Dwal and Boko, "We're okay! Nothin to worry about!" At Gerrard's suggestion he uses his mage hand to open the door to the west, again making sure everyone is out of the line of fire from a ballista or deadfall. "They sure liked their traps. You'd think they'd mix it up some though."
Kei wasn't watching as Peri's magic hand opened the door. "What the..." He spins around to see a cloud of dust settling where a rock the size of Peri's appetite had fallen. "Nevermind mixing it up, what are they protecting? There must be something worthwhile down here." He grits his teeth before uttering the next words "If there's nothing here...I'll...well...". His voice trails off as he heads south to the unexplored hall.
Boko sees little – the horizon itself is blocked by the slight incline that rings most of the island. (The abbey was built into a slight valley in the middle of the plateau.) The clouds are low and dark - no giant birds, nor anything else, are visible.
With another thunderous boom, Peri brings down more of the ceiling with his mage hand. Another trap, identical to the last.
Kei carefully advances and finds that the corridor leads to the backside of the door leading out of the false treasure room.

Gerrard:
Continuing to tag along behind Peri and Kei, Gerrard remains alert for danger and tries to step only where Kei stepped.

Dwal leans back a bit and strokes his beard, deep in thought. He searches his memory to recall anything he can recall of the Sea Princes.
History: 24
He does this with a memory of some information he overheard about the Sea Princes and their desire for expansion of their empire.
The Sea Princes were the folks who recently double-crossed the Abbey cultists and burned it down. Boko, too, has a bad history with the Sea Princes. Exiting into the raw weather outdoors, Boko confirms that the dead man is one of the Sea Princes, based on his garb. But nobody she has ever met.
