The collapse accelerates. Boulders fly, stones fall in sheets. Kei takes39 bludgeoning damage, halved by some lucky dodging, and the old man is similarly pummelled for29 damage, again halved, as rocks rain down from above. Both of you are plunged into the turbulent, ice-cold surf, and lose sight of each other. The tower itself collapses downwind into the water, fortunately in a direction away from Kei and Peleg. The sound is deafening, even over the tumult of the gusty winds.
Dwal, Gerrard, and Peri see something else - something massive, wriggling out from the interior of the stony islet like a larva from a gargantuan cocoon. Pushing boulders and slabs aside, it frees one massive tentacle after the next. You are about eighty feet away. The creature must be at least that in height, although its full form has not yet emerged.
”Oh shiii…” exclaims Gerrard, the rest of his outburst obliterated by the collapsing tower. Worried for Kei and Peleg, his gaze is inexorably drawn from them to the behemoth emerging above…

......Boko and Peri are up first! Ranged attacks are at disadvantage because of the pitching boat. Kei cannot currently see Peleg or the rest of the party, and nobody can see Kei or Peleg in the rough water, although you have a rough idea of where each other are.
......Boko, Peri, and Kei are up first! Ranged attacks are at disadvantage because of the pitching boat. Kei cannot currently see Peleg or the rest of the party, and nobody can see Kei or Peleg in the rough water, although you have a rough idea of where each other are.
Boko, alarmed at the cloud of debris and avalanche, feels around her briefly but then shoots to the surface and looks at what she can see. Where is the boat, what is causing the island, etc. Where is Kei?
Will have more movement and action etc depending on what she sees.
The party is about eighty feet from the remains of the collapsed tower, and maybe sixty feet from where you saw Kei and Peleg plunge into the heavy surf. Boko perception: 13 (free action)
Boko glimpses a hand in the surf momentarily - whether Kei's or Peleg's, she can't tell.
The island itself continues to crumble as this massive, wormlike, tentacled horror emerges from below. It is at least the size of the now-fallen tower, and dripping with brown jelly. Four huge tentacles writhe from its massive, eyeless head-like terminus. It squirms violently, throwing huge clusters of loose boulders tumbling into the black sea. The island itself is less than half the size it was a moment ago, as much of its landmass above sea level has tumbled into the deep.
Kei is thrashing about in the ice-cold water, dodging flying stones and trying to stay afloat in the churning seas. He sees neither Peleg, the old man's ramshackle boat, nor the party (although he has a rough idea of where everything was a moment ago) but he does see this gargantuan aberration squirming above him.
Boko darts for the hand and tries to ascertain who's there with her blindsight. She'll try to grab and pull to the surface whoever she can, to try to take them back to the "safety" of the boat.
The water is cold. Very cold. With a numb hand he waves a sloppy version of the arcane symbols needed to bring 4 floating orbs of light into being. He lines them up in a line vertically above his head. He hopes it draws the attention of his friends and gives them an idea of where he is.
At least there's no question of tryin' to fight that! he thinks. He points the stern at the colossus and give Gerrard the nod. "Let's get outta here while that thing's still hatchin'!"Hopefully Kei will be able to carry Peleg out to catch up with them, but Peri can't risk their tiny boat being smashed by one of the falling boulders.
With the help of Kei's beacon and Boktopus' incredibly swift swimming speed, Boko is able to quickly and easily locate Kei in the maelstrom. He is treading water perhaps ten feet offshore the crumbling island betwixt the churning waves and the undersea rockslides.
(She can propel him away from the island and partway back to the boat, or she can stick around to try to locate and grab Peleg - what's her plan?)
Meanwhile, Peri turns the boat about and runs northwest.
Boko grabs Kei and holds him up so his head's out of water, and she does a very short loop around where she grabbed Kei (10 foot lop), using her 10 foot blindsight to see if she can spot Peleg, and grabs him if she spots him, but if not, she zooms back toward the boat.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Grabbing Kei, Boktopus looks around, above and below the churning, murky, tumultuous water, as she quickly circles where Kei was. Perception: 10
...but cannot locate Peleg or his homemade boat.
She heads back toward Peri's departing vessel, but is slowed by the act of towing Kei.
The towering, snakelike monstrosity begins to intentionally kick and buck at its stony constraints as it frees itself from its slimy cell. It leans in and lashes out in the water not far from Boktopus and Kei with one of its tentacles. Tentacle Attack vs Peleg:19 Hit: 25 bludgeoning damage plus 12 psychic damage.
It effortlessly picks Peleg's limp form out of the water - and his boat for good measure - and pops them into its gaping, dripping maw, swallowing both whole. Then it begins to smash the remains of the tower.
Gerrard and Dwal may act, followed by everyone else.
Unnoticed in the rolling waves and sea spray, a single tear escapes Gerrard’s right eye as the rescue attempt goes horribly, horribly wrong. Nodding grimly at Captain Fenwader he follows orders, activating the Wind Fan and filling the sails of the small craft.

Dwal holds on to the sides of the skiff, watching gape mouthed at the towering monstrosity. "I ain't even got any spells ta do anythin' against that." he mutters as he watches in awe. "An' these boys are runnin' us harder from it."
"Turn us back so we can find a spot of land ta fight from." Dwal calls out. With that Dwal launches a Fire Bolt at the thing.
Gerrard helps accelerate the retreat of their little craft, downwind and away from the island.
From the deck of their rocking vessel, Dwal launches a mote of fire against the creature. It strikes, a puny flash against the vast bulk of this huge creature, and bounces off its thick hide harmlessly, but it does seem to catch its attention.
Bokotopus continues to tow Kei away from the island.
It's a strange sensation, having an octopus suckered to your leg. Kei welcomes the wet embrace. He lets the glowing orbs fade back to nothingness and holds on for dear life as Boktopus swims him away from the crumbling island and its new inhabitant. Through the crash of waves and spluttering of a bard half swimming half drowning the words "Damn you you old fool. That is NOT a reward!" With nothing to help defeat this monstrosity, Kei simply swims with Boko's help in the opposite direction to the tentacled terror.
