What was apparently once the main barracks of the stronghold has been turned into individual cells of some sort. Numerous wooden poles have been crudely lashed together and hung with curtains to create eight-foot-high partitions throughout the room. The ceiling peaks twenty feet overhead, where the roof is reinforced with wooden posts.
The entire room is a shambles, with many of the partitions damaged and the curtains torn apart. Debris and the broken remains of simple furnishings are strewn about, while pools of drying blood and gore fill the room with a metallic stink.
An interior door leads further inside the old fortress.
Following Peri into the keep from the upstairs window, Gerrard looks down the stairs and into the opening below. Turning around, he asks, "Where is Qivys?"

Gerrard looks down over the railing. The central, windowless room below is unoccupied, with five doors leading in all directions, and a corridor branching off to the west. It looked like it was once a formal gallery, but has since been turned into a scullery. An odd-shaped tub holds dirty water and shattered crockery, and a wooden frame is being used as a drying rack for laundry. Behind the tub sits a bucket of powder with a scoop, and several pumice stones. It's also a crime scene, with numerous blood spatters across the floor.
The storm outside continues to pound the fortress. The sounds of the gale drown most everything else out.
Peri begins cautiously edging down the stairs. He gestures toward the blood splatters. "Lotta blood spilled takin' this place; I can't believe whoever did it just abandoned it afterwards. Keep on your toes."
Still grinning from his successful B&E, Thwack waits for the others to climb through the window. "Messy place. Lots of blood" he states the obvious as he looks around. "Me found good treasures in messy places before." With so many options he seems frozen in place with indecision. "Um, where we go now?"
As Peri passes him on the stairs, Gerrard heeds his warning and draws his weapons. The dagger flares into a fiery light even as the moon-touched rapier gives off a cooler radiance.
The young noble follows Peri down the steps, doing his best to stay alert.

Gerrard:
Turning around and looking up the stairs, Gerrard sees no sign of Qivys. He says, “I worry about Master Qivys outside in the storm alone—let me go check on him.”
The young noble goes back up the stairs and looks out the window, hoping to see his friend out there somewhere.

Boko listens carefully and catches something that sounds like Qivys' voice, muffled from somewhere behind the southern door downstairs. "Determine!" it sounds like he said, whatever that means, although it's hard to hear anything past the din of this storm. Whatever he said, his tone was one of exasperation and annoyance.

With that Qivys moves forward into the room.
