(Ashtear doesn't care to make a history check. She figures she'll be told what we need to know by the briefing situation or by someone else. But she hasn't had much history reading in her small hamlet prior to adventuring.)
Johan gives his chin a scratch before responding. I think she could have been, yes. If youd like to ask her go ahead, preferably before she uses her magic to transform. He adds with a half smile.
(Aura- you think for a good minute, but most of what youve heard is just folk lore of a primitive tribe tbat was cursed a hundred years ago by a wizard, that anyone born to that tribe would all be female.)
(Albanus- You also ponder, but most of what youve heard is rumors of a female only tribe cursed by a wizard long ago.)
(Survivor- you actually remember few of your clan telling you about the rivals to the south, dishonorable warriors that rely on poison and trained beasts to conquer their adversaries, something about the memory boils your blood almost immediately.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"It is written in gnomish." (Or at least that is what I think was posted earlier, so replace with correct language if I am incorrect.) Dain says as he hands over the spellbook. "I have not had enough time to learn all of the spells i wish from there, so I do want it back." He tells them as they take the book.
"I didn't know you were so funny, Johan. Hmm, funny and brave. What a useful combination," Albanus will give Johan a long smile. Looking to the rest of the group, Albanus suggests that a stop at the apothecary or general goods store might be in order, perhaps to gather some anti-toxin or antidotes before trying to find these Amazons. "Ashtear, you're really good at making stuff. Do you have anything that might help us on the poison front?"

History check for amazons... 19
Leon nods slowly and meaningfully. Of course my friend, i give you my word as guildmaster, you shall have it back safe and sound in a thrice night no less. I'm unsure if he speaks gnomish though.
Then i suppose its lucky im going along as well then. You hear the Archdruid say before theres a sudden flash of light and where the half elven woman once was, now theres a rather large Giant Eagle standing, with what you can best tell isna look of expectation on its face. Leon secures the tome in a small backpack and throws it over his shoulder as he mounts the large bird. Hopefully all goes well and we all meet back here in no more than 3 days time. Should anything happen keep Johans journal close by, and if you need me, I'll be there in a jif.
(Dain- you think for a second and remember hearing once a little while ago about an exotic animals trade in the swamps to the south, and the women warriors who trade them for various things, such as weapons or food. Youre pretty sure that they have some sort of fued with the lizard people also native to the swamps.)
Johan similarly gives Albanus a long smile before almost having to shake himself out of it. Well, I suppose I am a man of many talents. But I agree, and I too have a friend that may prove very useful to you if you should want their help. At least for things like poisoned arrows.

Looking at Albanus and looking at her pack "Well if we have the time to spare. And gold for supplies. I can certainly make some antidotes. Or healing potions as well. A few things. What kind of supplies do we think will be useful?" Taking out a few random supplies and rifling through things.
"So, if we have the time, antidotes are a good plan. Do we have an idea of a way to broker talks? Since we aren't explcilty hunting them-it might be able to have a conversation if we have something that catches attention or signifies non agression to them. Johan...how exactly did you meet them? They just ambushed you?"

More or less, only reason I knew it was them was the broken common they speak. But if you think it neccessary, there is something you could probably offer them that would let them come to you. The big one here, if memory serves me right, he could be bait though, youre probably not too keen on being their target practice, but they seem to have a distaste for any "rival" clans, such as our friend Survivor. Here let me show you where I encountered them last.
He says before pulling out a small map of Ethrahal. Its a very basic map, but you can see the mountains that make the northern border to the Empire, as well as the expansive rolling plains that make up the center, the blazing dessert to the west, and the swamps and the sea to the south. Pointing to the small dot that indicates where Riverton is, he traces his finger along until hitting a small patch of forest sketched into the map. Right around here, I believe it's called by the locals black stick wood. It has a small population of fey that have lived there since before the founding of the Empire. They could possibly help you as well, although what sort of games they might want to play may not be worth it.
Observing the map, and listning to Johan's explainations. "Hmm.Looks pretty rough terrain as far as ambushes go... And we're wanting to get there, wrap things up-one way or another-and try to get back, within 3 days? Seems doable.probably.. How long of a trip would that be by foot?-or a cart if we had one. although maybe a bit short on time perhaps. I might have some time to prep some items-If we have the funds, or if I can find the supplies along the way. Or, if the guild has excess supplies for this sort of thing I suppose. I would prefer to do any traveling, or potential combat or peace talks, tomorrow however. I'd like to prep a few things.. If we're going to be dealing with a possible caster, possible ambush, and possibly Fey creatures, I think some preperations is a good plan."
Riffling through her bag briefly to look at what she has in it. "Actually, I might have to consider breaking down the bag for other options... it would leave things heavy, I'd have to leave my traps at least, or someone else would need to carry them. I'm a bit of a packrat for tools."
Manfred sighs coollly. "Erm.. I'm not sure that staying in one place is a good idea for me right at this moment big man." He grins and almost sounds a little proud. "You see, the Viscount has put a small bounty out for my return to his estate. It is a trifling amount to men and women such as us, but..." He twirls his flute through his fingers and looks to the group. "It's a lot of money to someone in a village this size. I could perhaps stay in the guild hall, but even then, you can't expect me to remain quiet and not at least play my songs one night."
"Ultimately its a question of how much we want to prepare? We did pretty well improvising last time. Given some time and funds we can prep a bit.. but longer we wait the more apt they are to have moved on." Having said her thoughts, Ashtear lets the group decide. WIth her preference being simply 'Lets not meet them tonight at least' but still unsure of total travel time regardless.
Survivor will chuckle at Ashtear's remark, "If they move on, then our job would be done for us. Isn't that the goal? Get them to move on, not to wipe them out?"
Albanus nods at her companions opinions. “We have to remember, for the bards sake, a bounty brings out lots of problems. If Leon knows that means a lot of others will know or know soon enough. Perhaps we should at least ask a few patrols about the Amazons? And Manfred, how do you feel about a haircut and a fake mustache?” Albanus laughs at the mental sight. Or I can let you hold my statue for a moment...”
I could go either way, err, about staying or going that is. But i agree that setting out in the morning, if we do want to go, would be better. Maybe Manfred could make some more coin at the tavern...”
Survivor will chuckle at Ashtear's remark, "If they move on, then our job would be done for us. Isn't that the goal? Get them to move on, not to wipe them out?"
Leon turns back to, just about to mount the giant eagle that stands before you all.
Well to a degree yes. I'd like them to move on back to their native land though, not further into the Empire. With the King ill and the likes of succubi running amuck, the Imperial army wont have time for such a thing. Hopefully we can escort them back home before they have a run in with one of the platoons. If not, well, id rather not think about such things as of yet. Lets just pray it does not come to that.
Manfred nods to the others. "I will certainly accept the decision of the majority, but just for the record, I did not wish to bring you all into my little familial dispute other than to entertain you with my little ditties. I'm working on a beautiful little song now, 'Viscount Metternich's Bottom.' that I hope to premiere soon. But I may need to call upon your assistance if father's agents arrive in town."
He huffs, a little overly dramatically. "You can't expect me to stay in the guild hall all day for as long as it takes for our friend to return, can you? I am a performer! I need to let my flute sing!"
"Hmm. I mean.. does your bounty actually show what you look like? Or are they just assuming you'll be showing off your name and title? Seems like if you spread your songs would make them angry-but also might occlud where you are currently. Assuming of course.. folks borrow your songs."
Leon turns to Manfred this time and responds. While the posters I have seen had a depiction in your likeness, I'm sure one such as yourself has ways around such a thing. Though from what ive heard about this statue that may be a little but of an expensive way of ensuring you dont look like yourself. He chuckles slightly before continuing. But alas I woupd prefer you all go. Youre quite the capable bunch as Johan has explained, and the sooner the better. Once I've returned from this trip, if all goes well, we all will be very very busy thereafter!
"Screech" Adds the Archdruid, still in her giant eagle form, making it a little difficult to understand exactly what she was trying to say.
