(What time is it in game? I was thinking it was late bevening early night, so was thinking long rest then see who to talk to...)
(I think that could be accurate. As someone with a "criminal" background - along with her size and ability to "disappear" and get into places - the night might be more productive for her. That's my thought process).
"Naw, be time fer bed." Dain says when asked to go out into the dark and talk to other people. "Talkin ta townmaster en sherif be waitin till mornin me thinkin."
You decide to retire for the night and Toblen leads you through a backdoor and up a flight of stairs. The only light at the moment comes from the lantern that Toblen took with him. Upstairs you see a hallway with three doors on each side and window at the end. He leads you to the last room on the left and uses a small piece of wood to turn on the lantern over the fireplace. With a bed, a mattress on the floor and another bed behind a large screen, the room is full.
He wishes you a good night and leaves.
The next day you get woken by the sunlight , what do you do?
"Where does ye all wantin ta be checkin oot taday?" Dain asks the two as they leave the room. "Me thinkin talkin ta dis townmaster en sherif mightin be da best choice, but ye mayhaps ave otter toughts..."
"Well I don't know about any of you, but I think it's strange for the leaders to lock themselves away. And I am curious about these Redbands and the other adventurers that I've been hearing about - I'm guessing these are those sent to look for the missing family. I think we should play it awful careful in this town...from my experience the sheriff only locks himself up when it gets real bad." Otrov lays out her thoughts to the rest of the group. "I think we should talk to the sheriff first - we know the other adventurers have already done so."
You go downstairs into the common room, where Toblen serves you a simple breakfast. Porridge with nuts, dried fruits and a fresh apple for each. You ask him about the Sherrif and he explains you that the Townhall is just across the road next to the village green. He also tells you that his name is Sildar Hallwinter and that he actually stays here in the inn. He tells you that Sildar returned late last night, and that he should be down for breakfeast.
Soon enough a broad shouldered human in his late 40s comes downstairs to order breakfast , Toblen gives him the same meal as you and points in your direction.
The man comes to your table and sits down with his plate:“Hallo, my name is Sildar, and it looks like i am in charge of the locale lawenforcement here. Master Stonehill told me you were looking for me, how may i assit you.“
Relgalyn will slump into a chair and start slowly eating his food. When Sildar approaches, he'll look up at him, then at the other two, "Something about missing folk and adventurers, wasn't it?"
Dain gives a grunt. "Ye got da right of it. Missin peoples, strange red brand peoples, and da townmaster locked away en da townhall." he says as he finishes his food between words. "Gots us wonderin wat be goin on round ere..."
“We arrived late yesterday, heard talk about it from the owner and his wife and noticed how nervous looking people are. But I guess if you’ve got things settled we can be on our way, thanks.” And Relg will turn back to his breakfast.
„We had a little bit of a situation yesterday, but it is under controll now. Why do you ask? I didn‘t see you around here before.“
As she picks through her porridge, popping some nuts into her mouth, Otrov ruminates on Sildar's words. Her face turns sour as she listens to his deflections. "Good sheriff, I suppose I want to know more. In the last couple of weeks, you have had a family go missing and Barthen's general store has closed and he has left town. You have also had orcs coming down from the highlands marauding your community. I've also heard Grista has had his house broken into. Not to mention the Redbrands terrorizing the countryside. And you yourself and the town master seem to lock yourself up in the town hall all day. People seem afraid, and rightly so. In my experience, I've seen this before and it gets worse before it gets better. How is it that you 'have things under control'?" She looks intensely at Sildar and at Toblen (if she can see him. Otrov thinks they're hiding something). "Can you tell us a bit more about the happenings here in Phandalin? It seems that you could use some assistance..."
You don‘t have the feeling that Sildar tries to deceive you, more like that he is cautious because he doesn‘t know you.
„I think you heard some rumors last night and while most of them sound true, i think they are a bit exaggerated by alcohol and darkness. Elmar and his assistans for example were running an errand for me. As far as i am aware, his shop should be back open for business by now. I think the missing family you heard of are the Dendrarrs. Mirna and her two children were kidnaped by the Redbrands, but some friends of mine took care of them last night and in doing so, they discovered and rescued the Dendrarrs. I must admit that the husband, sorry i can‘t remeber his name right now, is still missing and i am looking into it. There is still a lot of things unclear, but lets just say it is an ongoing investigation. I didn‘t hear about Grista yet, so assume she is alright and will come to me soon enough to tell me what happened.“
He makes a small pause to drink some of his tea before he continues.
“As for the Orcs, yes they seam to be a problem. Normaly they live high up in the mountains and don‘t bother us, but reports we got say that s,all groups of them are raiding all over the place at the moment and a bigger group actually blocks a mountain pass towards Triboar at the moment.
Look, i don‘t know you, or what you are capable of, but i have two small errands that you could look into for me. Nothing dangerous, mind you. Most farmers visit this town regularly, so words about the orcs were spread among most of people around this area by now. But there is an old herbalist and two dwarven archeologists who are still unaware of the danger, as far as i know. If you could warn them, that would be great. Since i myslf am rather new here, i don‘t know exactly where they are at the moment, but Sister Garaelle, our local priest, and Halia Thornton who runs the Miners exchange should be able to provide you with exact locations where to find them.“
Otrov will digest this information and glance to her 2 companions, Relg and Dain. "Well, what do you think? We should follow up with this Sister Garaelle and Halia to get some details about these dwarves and the herbalist." Immediately after saying that, making sure Sildar isn't looking, Otrov tries to catch the eye of the others and rub her thumb and index finger together in the commonly known symbol for "money." She raises an eyebrow and shrugs towards Sildar repeating the action again, trying to get one of them to ask...
As soon as everyone is ready to go, a surge of happiness and joy runs through Otrov's being. She exits the door of the Stonehill Inn and jumps off the steps into the street. She will proceed to improvise an acrobatic routine, complete with flips, rolls, somersaults, and twirls. Acrobatics12. However it turns out, she will notice the Shrine of Luck in front of her. She'll bend her head and whisper a prayer to Tymora, flipping a gold piece into the fountain.

An hour or two past dusk, in the late summer, so maybe an hour till midnight.
It is clear that people are packing up their stuff and go home. As far as you can tell they all leave in small groups.
Otrov give me a perception and a persuation check please.
(I'm good with sleeping now and continuing in the morning.)

Relg will still be yawning and stretching while the others talk plans, “Right, sure. As long as breakfast is in there somewhere, I’m good.”
