The room is revealed be a large room about 60 feet long and 30 feet wide. There is a large circle in the center of the room with 3 smaller circles distributed along it. There are three lines connecting the three smaller circles, making a triangle pattern within the large circle. On the furthest side of the ring and outside of it is a podium and on the back wall there is a desk and a half empty book cases.
stilgar studies the pattern trying to recall any significant meaning in the symbols before approaching the desk and bookshelf. the rogue takes everything and stashes it in his bag after combing through the books and items
”Oh wow! You are quiet dedicated! I am more of a tattoo person myself. Thought about getting one with “Mom” written across my right arm but that’s a story for another day.”
Stilgar and Laurentia looks at the pattern on the floor they can not recall if there are any recollections from the literature that they have read. If anything it must be ancient. Stilgar starts to stash and realizes he is really grateful for the bag of holding that he contributed to earlier. It has to be at least 25 books! On his way out, he looks at the podium and sees a single book already opened on the stand. He thinks briefly than quickly shoves it into the bag, witnessing the black cover on the way.
Stilgar and Laurentia are able to make it back to the original room and towards the window they came in without seeing anyone. They climb back up the window and are ready descend back into the village.
OOC: If you want to try and leave the building, give a stealth check like you did on the way in.
With a quick dash Stilgar runs away from the building with his haul of books. He easily reaches the bushes from where he entered The town from. Ash and Darrimus successfully distract the witches with their discussion of pickles and dinner.
Ash watches as Darrimus leaves into the forest. He then looks to the base of the tree. Suddenly, flames erupt as a fiery beast appears towering over the crowd!
As a smothering heat begins to overtake the area, the monster speaks: "HEAR ME MORTALS. TODAY WILL BE YOUR LAST. LORD SOZOS HAS COMMANDED THAT THIS TOWN BE BURNED."
"By the light, what is that!?" Ash screams, running to the forest in the direction of his allies.

You create the image of an object, a creature, or some other visible phenomenon that is no larger than a 20-foot cube. The image appears at a spot that you can see within range and lasts for the duration. It seems completely real, including sounds, smells, and temperature appropriate to the thing depicted. You can't create sufficient heat or cold to cause damage, a sound loud enough to deal thunder damage or deafen a creature, or a smell that might sicken a creature (like a troglodyte's stench).
As long as you are within range of the illusion, you can use your action to cause the image to move to any other spot within range. As the image changes location, you can alter its appearance so that its movements appear natural for the image. For example, if you create an image of a creature and move it, you can alter the image so that it appears to be walking. Similarly, you can cause the illusion to make different sounds at different times, even making it carry on a conversation, for example.
Physical interaction with the image reveals it to be an illusion, because things can pass through it. A creature that uses its action to examine the image can determine that it is an illusion with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check against your spell save DC. If a creature discerns the illusion for what it is, the creature can see through the image, and its other sensory qualities become faint to the creature.
The witches run away at the sight of the illusion, screaming and bumping into each other. Ash and Darrimus quickly move away and back into the swamp to meet up with Stilgar and Laurentia. After a brief moment, the group is able to meet up about 50ft away from town. The illusion, still thrashing around near the tree gives cover to the group and they seem to have made it out with no immediate followers.
If they ready to head back to town, Laurentia will retake her elf form and walk back along with them after giving Stilgar and the rest a high five and pat on the back.
Stilgar and Laurentia look through the books together while waiting for their compatriots. There is an odd sort of random history and religious books that they recovered from the book shelves. When they turn their attention to the black book, they open it up to find it is in a language they are not familiar with. According to Olana it would be in a foreign tongue so they have high confidence they got the right book.

"Appreciate the conversation but it's getting to be about that time."
Darrimus turns to Ash.
"Would you care to accompany me as Nature is calling and I hate to pee by myself?"
Darrimus will begin to make his way to the woods.
Laurentia crawls onto Stilgar's arm to help inspect the books.

”woooooweee! look at the size of that thing! ash youve really out done yourself!”
stilgar quickly throws all of the stolen books back into the bag except the black book which he hands to Ash.
”we found several but i think this is what the old hag was after.”
