OOC: do we still have the spore to talk to each other telepathically ?
(OOG Yes, Stool is still providing spores to communicate.) Grimnir finds the young myconid sprout in high spirits, bouncing around Sarith, exclaiming, "Did you see that? It was a so big! And now we have more friends!"
Dorhun acknowledges Grimnir, "Yes, you have my thanks. While you are speaking with the head of the guard, I will find out what happened with Rihuud. One moment we were communing in the cavern, and the next thing I know he had sprouted a second head, and was gibbering nonsense as he stormed out across the city."
Oorr: " Dorhun, I am Oorr. It is nice to make your acquaintance. If I may, is there any a temple or any clerical entity in Glack in the city? What happened to the giant may be related to what it is happening in the entire Underdark. We need to consult with someone who knows more on the matter."

"You will want to ask your questions of the Stonespeaker when you see him. I must tend to Rihuud. I will tell you that thei eare few temples in Gracklstugh. The city is more focused on its commerce and guilds. Of the gods that are worshipped here, most pertain to war and battle. The derro serve their own trickster gods. Stonespeaker Hgraam is the loan priest of Skoraeus, god of buried things, in the city. We will talk more later."
Dorhun, finishes his arrangements as a large wagon is brought in. He lifts the fallen giant into it, and beings to pull the cart back towards the broken gate.
Grimnir takes the 2 berries and suddenly the hunger disappear. "Oorr, this is amazing ! you know what, after meeting the captain, I think we need to sit down, get some drinks, share our stories...I realise that with the running we didn't even take the time to have a decent conversation !"
Valrish gulps down the berries, feeling somewhat refreshed. "I think that jam would do the trick for these." He says. "A beer would also do the trick right now." He snickers a bit.

Weltha sends some of the guards off to search for Bupiddo, and motions for the rest of you to follow her. "Don't get any ideas. You might have made an impression on the stone giants, but you still have to meet with Captain Blackskull. If you manage to play your cards right, she might just let you go free."
You follow her towards the lake, around a few rock outcroppings and emerge into a large open area with merchants and vendors hawking wares. Weltha tells you this is the Blade Bazaar, and if you have a chance later, this is the best place to barter and trade. "I heard you talking 'bout drink earlier. Well, there's only one place to go for outsiders like you,"she says as she points to a low set of rocks with a door in them. It appears to be a large building set mostly under the ground. "The Ghohlbrorn's Lair is a bit cramped, but they have food, drink, and beds." The bazaar is awash with activity. Duergar and Derro, and even some overworld races buy, sell, barter, and trade. Some loudly and for show, while others huddle in darkened corners making deals. A derro in an odd hat with two tentacles flopping off of it, darts past your group, nearly knocking over Sarith and Stool who were looking in the opposite direction. You hear a voice trail off as the derro disappears around a corner, "I'm late! Out of the way! So late! Of all days!"
You continue past the inn to another area North of the Bazaar. You see a large stalagmite jutting up out of the cavern floor on the shore of the darklake. It is covered in chimneys that belch smoke, and you see what look like some sort of armaments used for throwing projectiles in any direction. Weltha leads you to a door set in the side, and ushers you inside the building.
You are taken to a dark office and met by an imposing female gray dwarf. She is fully armored and bears an insignia you have not seen on any other duergar. She is flanked by two Stone Guards who remain by the door.
“I am Captain Errde Blackskull, commander of the Stone Guard,”she says, giving each of you a calculating look. “Let me start by saying you are worth nothing here in Gracklstugh. Even after your 'heroics.' Most of those in my command would sell you off in a heartbeat as the cheapest manual labor if they had they chance. However, I’ve learned to make much better use of adventurers like you.”
Errde Blackskull proceeds to offer you a deal. Given your capable abilities, as witnessed in the giant attack, she will forgo your arrest provided you assist her with something her stone guard have been unable to accomplish. They are interested in a derro named Droki who has thus far evaded capture. She suspects he is connected to a conspiracy within Gracklstugh involving the Council of Savants, a group of powerful derro who live in luxury (while most of their fellow derro live in squalor) and possibly even the clan lairds (influential duergar clan leaders). She is concerned that this conspiracy means to overthrow Deepking Horgar Steelshadow V. She does not hide the fact that uncovering such a conspiracy would earn her great favor. She asks you to do the following:
1) Locate Droki and follow him to find out what he's up. If given the chance, seize him and bring him in for questioning, or kill him and bring back evidence of what he's working on 2) Look for other signs of corruption among the people of Gracklstugh, and report what you see to Errde. She sees these a signs of the conspiracy against the Deepking.
"Captain. I am Oorr of the Star Mounts, and these are my travelling companions, Belwar, Valrish and Grimnir. I appreciate you are a female dwarf of facts and not words, so I will not waste time cleaning each other feathers. First, if I may, can you tell us more about this Council of Savants? Where can we find them and this Droki? Also, if we accept to conduct this investigation, I would ask permission to speak with the stone giants."

"Ah, yes, I heard of your invitation to Cairngorm Cavern to meet with the Stonespeaker. You should not keep him waiting. I would suggest going there before dealing with Droki. A few more hours won't hurt." She paces a bit, then continues, "Droki is cunning. We know he resides in the West Cleft District, where most of the Derro live. It's in the big chasm that separates the city, Laduguer's Furrow. We don't venture into the derro territory without a large force. The residents are... a bit mad, and there's no telling what they'll do in large groups. If we can even spot the tricky fellow, he usually escapes somewhere into the West Cleft we can't follow."
"You'll also find the Halls of Sacred Spells here, where the Council of Savants meets. It's the governing body of the derro, and who I suspect are cooking up something bad for the Deepking. We've managed to keep the peace for nearly 500 years, but it feels like it's about to break. As I said, the council lives well, but the same can't be said for the rest of the derro. That's all we really have to go on. You can't miss him though. He wears a hat with displacer beast tentacles attached to it. Apparently he thinks they're a good luck charm."
"If you agree, I'll give you an insignia so the guards don't mess with you. You'll be able to walk freely through the Darklake District and the Furrow, but don't venture South of the chasm without the Stone Guard. We can take you directly to the Stonespeaker when you're ready."
Valrish looks around, seeing how sharp the dwarves' weapons are. "Say, before we venture into that derro nest, are there any recommendable blacksmiths around here?" He asks. He still has his trusty mace, but replacing the club or the shortsword would be a great improvement.

Grimnir, that was quiet until now, speaks up. "Captain, As Oorr said, I am Grimnir and we would be happy to help you against the chaos that seems to grow in the Underdark. We will take those badges and will probably stay in The Ghohlbrorn's Lair as you suggested." "Could you describe this Droki ? Anything that could help us identifying him?". He pauses, "By the way, I think I saw a Derro with a hat with tentacles earlier, he seemed...strange. Keep saying he was late". He looked at his companion to see if they confirm this.
Grimnir bows a little, before adding: "I also wanted to ask you: On our travel, we found out an increasing numbers of people afflicted by madness. Dohrun told us about a priest of Skoraeus, is there someone else who would have some information of the madness and how to heal people afflicted by it ?"
OOC: could we have a map of the city ? that would help a lot to get direction. Also what time of the day are we ?

"You're welcome to sell and purchase at the Blade Bazaar. You can find just about anything there with all the wares from those passing through. I doubt any of the duergar blacksmiths would assist you though. No offense. Just the way things are."

"Ah! So you've seen the bugger. That was him, no one else has a hat. And he's quick. Gone before you've realized you've seen him. Looks like you already have a lead."
"The derro are all mad if you ask me. Can't say I've heard about anything going around though. If you see anything, let me know. Maybe I can point you to someone that can help."
Errde Blackskull turns to a table and rummages around in one of the drawers, pulling out a parchment. "This will help you get around the city. Stay North of the large chasm to the South, unless the stone guard is escorting you. Here are the badges I mentioned. That will let the other duergar know you're under the watch of the Stone Guard." On the parchment, is a map of the city.
(OOG You're currently at the Red Dot and near the bazaar and the inn, the Stone Giants are at the Yellow Dot, and the West Cleft (Droki) is at the white dot. It's currently nearing the end of the day. The bazaar is closing down.)
