Although others have had great ideas on how to detonate the bomb, Dain smiles at Lia and says "A cross bow bolt! That's brilliant. Yes!" You approach the grand entrance, or where the entrance to the academy should be. Dain wheels the Karak-morr into place next to the dome, and then moves behind one the the pillars near by. "Now when it explodes, my calculations indicate that there should be am 8 foot opening, but it will not last. Because the gold dome regenerates quickly, we will only have to the count of ten for all of us to get inside. I suggest that the more... umm... hulky members go first, and the light and nimble ones, like me and Lia, go last. If we don't have a plan I'm afraid we will all trip over each other, and no one will get in. So what should the order be?"
Chikra considers. "I'm pretty small, and I can squeeze through small spaces, if it closes in." She mimes a hole getting smaller. "If it just blinks back into existence, I don't think I'd be faster than anyone else. Is eight foot wide enough for two to go through at once?"

Everyone get's into position behind the pillars to protect themselves from the blast. Lia launches a crossbow bolt into the powder keg, which immediately explodes with a concussive boom. Bit of shrapnel are flying every which way as they bounce off of the stone. Krusk dives through, and Gold follows right behind him, nearly stumbling on Krusk. Kodrith follows and trips on the dome as it starts to rise from the ground as it re-generates. Chikra sees Kodrith stumble, and tries to stop, but ends up tripping over Kodrith. Nearly everyone on the inside of the dome has tripped over each other, but somehow Hallanann manages to dodge all of his friends and ends up standing inside. Dain trips on the gold dome, and hits his head doing 4 bludgeoning damage. Lia Dives through the opening that has almost entirely closed and runs right into Dain. Her boot gets caught in the dome as it seals it'self off. In a panic Dain pulls Lia, grabbing under her arms. Lia's foot slips out of her boot. Dain ends up laying with is back on the ground, with Lia right on top of him, nose to nose. Dains arms still wrapped around her. "Umm.. that was ... awkward." Dain says.
Beyond the light is darkness. There is no trace of the city you stepped out of. There is barely any trace of the Academy, in any recognizable form. Pools of light push back the darkness here and there, and you make out jagged chunks of stonework; walls and windows and doors in no discernible pattern. A tower top here, a sitting room there… as if the whole place was frozen in the moment of an explosion. In the distance a single tower stands tall and whole. Threads of crimson light weave paths between the isolated chunks of reality but they flicker and twist, unstable and shifting. Gradually, in the silence around you, you begin to hear faint sounds of movement, whispering cloth and the suggestion of voices. You are not alone.

Hallanann reaches a hand down to the nearest person on the ground to try and help them up. "Is everyone okay," he asks.
While trying to help someone up, Hallanann is looking around to see what he notices: is there anyone nearby? Did anyone notice them? Are there any obvious differences between the area inside the dome and outside? Does Hallanann detect anything of a magical nature?
Gold brushes himself off "Are you ok Lia, I'm afraid your boot is no longer with us. I hope you are able to find some footwear. I have some leather you can wrap your foot in for now if it will help." He tries to understand what has happened.
He will perform the help on anyone who wants to make a skill check (perception or such, including maybe Hallanann's check if he wants to make another roll.)
Hallanann and Gold observe that the space is occupied by fragments of living magic and traces of people: psychic impressions of the members of the Academy, like ghosts of people who are still alive. These entities are drawn to real, living humanoids, and seem aggressive.
Most of the area around you is absolute darkness. You can see a crimson path that has wicked itself under your feet and can be made out for about 20 feet in front of you, although it is unclear where it leads. It twists and turns in a life like manner like a flame or a drop of ink in water. Those with dark vision can make out some structures, the nearest one looks like a study.
"Should we follow the path or check out the study. Also who here is not able to see in this darkness? I think we should see what is in that building over there that looks like a study"
"Sorry for landing atop you." Lia tells the dwarf, as she gets up, giving him a hand up as well. She glances around, frowning at the state of the area.
"This is not exactly what I pictured..." She says, her eyes, use to the darkness, taking in the area.
"The psychic projections look angry," Hallanann observes aloud to his party. "I think that whatever we do, we need to find a way to release them. Looking through one or two of these buildings could provide some more insight into what we're dealing with."
Kodrith brushes himself off after disengaging himself from the others. If he didnt like the city before, he definitely doesnt now. "You all tell me what to do. I specialize in killing monsters, not ending magics but I don't knows if these are things I should put down," he says. He scratches his head a moment and continues, "and if you dont if you should kill it or how to kill it, you avoid it until ya figure it out."
"We are all in the same boat my friend" Gold thinks and tries to figure out what would be the next move. "Let's go over to that study or whatever it is and see if we can learn something.". He heads to the building and attempts to enter.
Experimenting with moving off the path you find that stepping off the path is stepping into nothing. It defies all physics, but you don't fall, but also don't move ahead as you attempt the walk. You don't slip, and you don't fall.
Walking along the path is walking though both time and space. Some things move backward in time while other things move forward at a rapid pace. Things around you also shift in and out of existence. Each step seems to be a different slice of time and space.
One moment you are walking along the crimson serpentine path, the next you are faced with a sheer rock wall. The path you were following has vanished. What was once a marble walk way is now standing completely vertical nearly 20 feet to the top. There are no hand holds to climb it, but there are the cracks between the marble slabs. Behind you is nothing but darkness. At the top of the cliff the crimson path can be seen lapping at the rock.

Hallanann is a slim 6'-2" tall at only 160lbs. So, if Dain and Lia go last, Hallanann can go third to last?

“Me first” Krusk says. He is 6’ 10” and 250lbs, so he’s probably the biggest
