"So it is." Zashier stated, as he strolled up to properly join the duo at the threshold. And assuming it wasn't locked, he motions for them to step aside at least long enough for him to be the first through the door, and have a more intimate look around for the first time. Once inside, and having little to no concern with further subterfuge after Yokini's announcement, he took one great big whiff by the entryway to try and at least confirm any recent scents of Ocrish intrusions.
Unsatisfied regardless of the results, seeing the door to the right, Zashier gestures to Thistle and Yasheira, and then makes a circling motion to the others, then remembering the double doors just around the bend from previous explanations. "Rest hold here. And maybe with Lem's friend, assuming it's alright, they can help coordinate us doing the 'thing'--"He gestures at the double door by the entryway. "At the same time."
Zashier, you definitely catch whiffs of orc-ness, and and you also smell other funky smells, but you cant quite put your finger on it. Everything is sort of "washed-out" smell-wise due to the acrid burnt out smell that seems to emanate from everywhere.
So, if I am following you correctly, Zashier and Lem (and I assume the rest) are now in the building (no point rolling acrobatics for a DC5, unless we just really want to roleplay someone falling on their butt, and everyone getting a good laugh). You are next to the double doors on the right of the main entrance.
The whole place is a bit spooky. It is a shell of the building it used to be, and you definitely get the heeby-jeebies just being here.
What do you want to do? Are you splitting and both going into this room from opposite sides? Remember, both sets of double doors have a wooden plank nailed up across the doors.
Yokini will stand with her back against the wall facing the first set of doors, her crossbow with glowing bolt loaded, ready to fire at the first sign of danger.
Thistle will move swiftly but carefully past the others around the corner, setting up at the other set of double doors, five feet back and facing them. She has once again stowed her bow and has her buckler and saber out. She motions to the boarded up door and looks at Yashiera questioningly. The woman looks strong, though not likely as strong as her brother.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Everyone posts up at their position, and lets say Thistle stands at the corner, and can see both Zashier and Yashiera. Thistle counts down with her fingers "3....2....1...." and nods her head.
Strength: 12. 21
Brother and sister, the powerful duo, easily kick/ram the doors in. The wood splinters, and the doors fall off their hinges.
Standing at the entry, Zashier, you look in and see two rows of scorched, wrought-iron bedframes that take up most of the space in this soaring chamber (25 foot high ceiling), resting between a fire-blackened altar to the southwest and double doors to the northeast (where you see Yashiera standing, Thistle at her side). A second set of double doors leads to the northwest (Where Zashier, Lem and Yokini are), and a single iron door exits the chamber to the southeast. Brightly colored holy figures stare down from the stained-glass windows built into the blackened stone walls, their visages noticeably less damaged than the rest of the room.
Lem, knowing your history the way you do, you know that back when the church was first built, this large chamber would have been the sanctuary. After the church was destroyed by raiding orcs, the sanctuary was converted into an infirmary for the plague victims.
You all see the burned out room, the beds scorched, all that remains are the bedframes, no mattresses.
Its haunting you, a bit, this room. Looking around at the blackened walls and floor, knowing that everything in this room, the patients and the healers, all. met their end during this fiery destruction.
You are all standing at the doorways, but have not made your way into the room.
Lem's hands begin trembling just a bit, eyes darting around at the evidence of long-ago carnage. He casts mage hand and sends it in to move one of the bedframes a bit, to see if anything else startles in the room. Assuming nothing, he steps quietly forward, slowly looking around and under things, investigating for any sort of evidence of recent passage, any leftover items, anything at all. He says nothing.
With nothing jumping out of the sanctuary/infirmary, Thistle immediately turns her attention to the remaining single door down the hall from where she is. Tapping Yashiera lightly on the arm to get her attention, she creeps down to it and listens intently.

As Zashier knew little in the ways of healing and diseases outside of divine magic, and even then only so much, he stood there brows furrowed in deep thought. Eventually, he got so caught in it, he hunched over, crossed his arms, and began tapping his noggin with trunk.; blissfully unaware even as a magic hand gets summoned that Lem at least had stepped inside to investigate the place.
Thistle, and Yashiera, move to the other door (towards the SE of the map). You hear nothing on the other side of this door.
Lem, your spectral hand moves into the room and rattles a bedframe, but nothing else in the room moves. It is ominously silent in the room.
You step forward, slowly into the room (stealth: 10) looking all around, getting on your knees, looking under the beds. Making your way into the room, you suddenly notice the smell of burning flesh. Zashier, at the door, thinking to yourself (as we said in discord, you have lived here a while, and after some thinking you realize enough time has passed that it is highly unlikely there is any contagion still here) you and your sensitive trunk also are awash with this new smell of burning flesh. (Yokini I assume is still out in the hall, and doesnt notice the smell.
Lem, as you stand up from looking under the beds, you do notice a trap door under the bed in the middle of the room, along the NW wall.
Lem:
Suddenly, materializing out of thin air on top of these beds are burnt, charred corpses. They all sit up, from the waist, their dead eye sockets focused on Lem, screaming so loud it fills your head, their mouths full of fire and ashes.
Thistle shrugs to Yashiera, and tries to signal that she should get the attention of the others. Then she will stay by the door, inspecting it for any traps, to determine if it is locked, anything like that. Perception: 19

Thistle, the door is not locked or trapped. You feel around the outside of the door, and look over at the cabinet next to the door, thinking maybe if it was trapped, it could be tied into this cabinet, but you dont see anything. However, your presence here has disturbed a creature that lowers down right in front of you from the ceiling, catching you by surprise. (completely hidden in his webs in a dark corner at the top of the Eastern Corner)
Hanging from its web, The spider reaches out with its hideous maw, and attempts to bite you (8) but its jaws close around thin air as you move out of its way.
No initiative. Just one creature. He will go, then you and Yashiera can go. If you call for help, it will take either two rounds of movement, or one round with a double move, to help you, and then I will factor in the other party members if the fight continues.

Shaken to alertness at the new scent, Zashier immediately began looking around the room from his immediate vantage point, before needing to step-aside promptly, least he be bowled over by a hurrying Lem. Confused, as their had been no scream or shouted warning preceding the dwarf bustling out the room, let alone an all clear given, Zashier stepped more fully into the room with axe in hand and faintly glowing, as well as trunk sniffing around for the burnt flesh smell.
A scent too fresh for Lem to not have commented on it at the very least, keen smell or no. Troubled, he advanced into the room, and tries to track the scent back to its source. He doesn't bother trying to keep quiet, preferring the Flood Troll -- assuming it was the source of the scent -- would come out and face him over further sneaking around anyhow. That said, he at least doesn't go out of his way to knock things over, and more so shuffles things aside while trying to trace the scent. "So weird.. I could be wrong, as I'm likely to be, but that ain't no cooked rabbit I smell." He'd mutter just loud enough to be overheard.
Lem Zashier and Yokini are at the other entrance to the "bed" room (near the building's main entrance), and are unaware of what is going on with Thistle and Yashiera. Just keep that in mind when making your decisions.

Schooled to silence and caution, Thistle senses something and ducks just as the giant spider lowers and tries to bite her!
Stepping back, she draws her saber (the scabbard has been felted at the opening to minimize scraping noises), and takes a second to give the spider the once over before attacking.
Bonus Action: Insightful Fighting Insight roll of 18 vs the spider’s Deception roll.
Action: attack with saber. 6 to hit, for 8 slashing damage. If Insightful Fighting hits, add 12 damage for Sneak Attack.
OOC > oh, sure, max damage with those hit rolls... at least I’m hard to hit.

Zashier, you shuffle into the room, trying to track down the source of that smell
Zashier:

Zashier, you are notfrightened, the screaming stops, and the bodies sort of go transparent as you realize these are haunts, and cannot hurt you.
You may move about the room freely since you saved on your roll.

Yokini climbs up on Lem's shoulders, which is just the right height (evidently).
Dang! yokini, that is some good rolling.
Yea, you and Lem are able to take a close look at the door and frame, and you feel fairly certain the door is not trapped.
"No traps!" Yokini announces.
