This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lem, you and Yokini and Thistle all contribute in removing the half-orcs weapons and what not, and then you look around the room you are in.
The statues here are all of different celestial creatures, and they sit in each of the corners. It looks as if this was once a special room, but the firepit in the middle and the moth-eaten bedrolls seem out of place next to these celestial statues. You see shovels, picks, and other digging equipment in the room, and with your knowledge of digging and stonework, you can see they have been recently used. Lem, you move over to the pile of rubble, and start digging around. You begin to see areas of cut away dirt and stone. Then, you are able to decipher more than just dirt. You are seeing tracks int he dirt. Not the human or half-orc tracks, but rat tracks and droppings, and places they have gnawed. In the NorthEast wall there is a shallow tunnel you are able to see, but it is unfinished, and incomplete, and the ceiling above the tunnel has collapsed, leaving the hole open to the sky, and left this pile of burnt rubble.
It is unclear why this tunnel is here, but it is clear to you that this tunnel is recent, the tools were used recently, and the bedrolls would not be in this hallowed room during its normal use.
If you poke around in the tunnel, you see a different tunnel, smaller, and not made by tools. You are pretty sure whoever dug this tunnel accidentally ran the tunnel into a rat tunnel, or warren of tunnels…who knows how far the small rat tunnels go.
In the rubble you find the body of a half-orc, partially obscured amid the loose rocks and dirt of the aborted tunnel. The corpse looks as if it has been feasted upon by whatever rats escaped the tunnel.
From the body of the half-orc that is currently unconscious, you remove his Morningstar, leather armor, a shortsword, and a dagger. You also find a potion (Yokini can easily identify this as cure wounds), and you notice his boots look especially nice (boots of Striding and Springing).
You also find, in his pocket, a key, and a single gemstone - a bloodstone (worth 50gp)
As you are investigating the room, the tied-up half orc shakes off the effects of your sleep spell (which lasts about a minute). You had enough time to tie him up, and remove the items from him. Where is he? Did you put him in the middle of the room, or is he tied up laying in the rubble? You tell me, where he is, and what position you left him in. He is groggy, and mumbling.
Zashier, you hold out the head to your sister. She pinches her nose with one hand, and takes the troll with the other hand, tucking it under her arm like a ball.
And in this moment, the eyes of the troll head open. And seeing where it is, and its body on the floor, it attempts to bite Yashiera (22) and the body pushes itself up - but facing the wrong way. The head sees this, and seems like it is communicating with its body still, somehow. The body turns around to Zashier, and takes two swipes at him ( 915 ). The head of the troll bites Yashiera's side for 8 damage, and only one of the claws catches Zashier along the side of the face, taking a chunk out of his larger-than-life ears (for 15 slashing damage)
Zashier half-trumpets in surprise from the claw attack. But quick is the elephantine man to get his bearings. Pain soon gives way to anger. Anger... starts to give way to hatred. The voices he began to hear whispering only egged him as he went for the axe once more. As if in response to these feelings, the light emitting from the battleaxe begins glow brighter and the air about the head of it became distorted as if radiating an intense heat.
However, Zashier notice none of this. This 'thing' would not only go quietly, not only did it hurt his sister twice now, and NOT ONLY posed an ongoing threat to Fallcrest.... but it was preventing him from seeking the full extent of justice Romero -- his brother from another mother practically -- so richly deserved. A deep growl comes out unbidden as grip tightens on the axe, and eyes became pools of pitch black. "Should've played dead!"He barked as went to cut into the troll's main body -- right at the chest in hopes of cutting through bone and getting at the things heart. Though from the impact blossoms flames that would hungrily begin consuming the rest of the troll's body, leaving it fully engulfed in seconds.
"Sis! Spike it's brain. See if it heal from that." He barks out.
Meanwhile, at some point Yokini would feel the lingering warmth of Zashier's incidental magic fade away..
Lem has rope. He actually wraps the searched and disarmed orc in his bedroll first, and then tying him up around the bedroll. Makes it harder to escape.
Thistle nods, impressed by Lem's trussing of the half orc. And checks the south door to see if it is locked (earlier Perception roll of 9 likely revealed nothing about what is behind it).

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
Yokini, there was likely some rope with the digging supplies you found. But I suppose that doesnt matter, since Lem has some. Lem, you would not have heard the troll attack, but you definitely would have heard Zashier trumpeting (though, you could not discern a joyful trumpeting from a trumpet of shock)
Thistle, the South door is not locked.
Zashier, in your anger, you swing at the troll body in front of you, while your sister wrestles with the head. Your axe strike is true, but it seems to barely graze the troll (1 (+4) points of normal damage), but as the blade pierces the flesh of the troll, the flame that is emitted quickly spreads across the entirety of the trolls body. As you look to your right to tell Yashiera to spike the head, you see the head has gone limp and is actually hanging off of Yashiera - in its sudden death, as it is finally fully separated from its host, its teeth that were clenched on Yashiera's side have clamped down, and she is struggling to remove the dead head hanging from her body.
Yashiera says to Zashier "Little help....", and I assume Zashier either pries the head off, or uses his elephant hands (paws?) to smash the head off of her. How you do it is up to you.
You have defeated my troll puzzle.
Lem, Yokini, and Thistle are in the N corner room, Zashier and Yashiera are in the middle room, next to the smoldering corpse of a troll.
A heavily breathing Zashier is slow to notice Yashiera's plight. He just stared for an uncomfortably long moment at the burning body, eyes black throughout it all. But before turning to look at her, they are back to normal again. It still took him an extra second to truly register to the problem, and when he did, he hurriedly got his fingers between jaws to pry them apart (with her help, naturally).
As soon as she was free, he started to raise a leg as if readying to crush the thing. He thought better of it in the next moment, and instead would turn his Yklwa into an awkward stake for the head to easy in transport. "Here you are, sis. Looks like he took quite a chunk out of you. As you know doubt felt, real toothy this fiend here."He adds as his trunk fetched a normal healing potion from a pack and offered it to her. "Shall we get to the others?"He asked/suggested, and with gesture for her to lead, followed in her wake.
No, thank you brother, but you or someone else may need it more. Perhaps you should save it until there is a true need. I cant say I have ever done battle with a troll before. His head should make a nice scarecrow back at the farm.
She leads the way down the corridor into the new room, where you join the others.
Lem's ready to detect thoughts the half-orc, but he will either have to wait an hour to regain some of his reserves, or he can use his pearl of power now. "Do we want to know what he's thinking right now? Or can we wait an hour. I can do both. Depends on if we'll be needing something else from me sooner rather than later. And if his thoughts will be less guarded now, versus when he's recovered."
Lem's leaning toward casting it now, but he's checking with his new coworkers...
Zashier snaps to attention, having spent the past few moments staring down hard at the bound half-orc. Though even with his higher functions back, rather than speak, he puts a hand at his chest and mutters some prayer under his breath. Even calmer, the smile he wore after what he thought had been a joke about scarecrows did not return. "Better we get out as much as we can now, before any thing else goes the unexpected routes. Not that I expect them to, but by their very nature, it's kind of hard to do that in the first place." He nods as if he just says something sagely. "Just, uh, let me know if there's something I should be doing, and I'll try my best." He whispered to teh others.

Lem says to the others, "get ready with what you want to know, and start asking now."He uses his pearl of power to regain a second level spell slot and then casts detect thoughts and listens to the half-orc. If no one else begins to ask questions, he will start his own. "Why were you so afraid of Romero? Who's going to be upset when they find out you've failed? Who else is in Fallcrest, and are there more on the way? What are you trying to do?"
Goal is to get him to think of a bunch of things he's not going to tell them.
Zashier stayed quiet but attentive, trusting the others -- his sister especially -- to handle the questioning. If anything does come to mind to ask, he would save it for towards the end of the interrogation. But if Lem's magic or the clever wording of others proves not enough, he never suggests rougher routes, and would give anyone to do so a soft but no less disapproving look. Whether he would stop anyone though.... it wasn't his way to preemptively think about those things.

Thistle you take a stealthy walk down the tunnel, and you see it connects to both of the rooms you were already in (at the bottom of the stairs, and where you fought the troll - updated map on discord). With your perception roll, you also notice that the hallway that connects where you are to the center room does seem to be trapped, but its not a big deal since you already managed to find multiple entrances into the central room.
Lem, in response to your questions, you probe the half-orc’s mind for surface level thoughts. They come to you in a jumble of things - he obviously has a lot on his mind.
Out loud he says “ Afraid of Romero? I wasn’t afraid of Romero. What are you talking about? And who are you? What are you doing? Are you casting a spell on me? (Your spell has V, S, and M)
In his head: “Romero? Dead. Skreed saw to that. Not a problem anymore. Problem. Problem? Oh no, the troll? What am I going to do now? How will I get Skreed’s messages out of Fallcrest?”
Lem waves off talk of casting spells, making other odd gestures similar to the somatic components of the spell, blending it in or at least confusing him more.
"You are alone now. In trouble. What will happen when the authorities find out everything you are up to? Everything you and your friends have done?"

OOC: Going off the map.
Yokini places an ear to the door opposite the tunnel and listens for any sounds.
Perception: 14
If she doesn't hear anything, she opens the door (if it's not locked) and looks into the next whatever.
(I keep forgetting that the compass rose is skewed on this map, and referring to up asN and down as S.)

Pretty sure Thistle already checked that one door. No sounds, and when you open it, it leads to a hallway. (updated map on discord)
Let me know what you want to do with the half-orc. He is awake, and a little groggy, and probably a little grumpy as well.
If you let me know today, i will post an update later tonight, but then we leave for vacation, so posts will be spotty.
