The crowd seems a little disappointed, but agree that the dance duel is the chosen method of battle.
"All right," says Hollis. "There are five of you, I see. The goblin is with you, yes? The Supreme Wizard High Lord will dance against each of you. If he outdoes three of you, he remains our Fool in Sort Of Charge, and may carry out his plans for our future drudgery and woe, depending whether we go along with it. Elwin sighed as he dismissed his weapon in a puff of icy mist. "Might as well get this over with," he thought, shaking his head as he stepped forward.
He looked toward Lemmet, glaring at the elf before turning back to the crowd. "Good Del," he loudly asked as he closed his eyes, "how about a quick jig from the streets of Slate City?"
With that, the warlock forced a (rather tight) smile onto his face and started to move his feet in rapid order, tossing in the occasional jump or odd leg twist in time with the music.
Quentin says, “Well I guess this is what we’re doing. Del something more elegant please.” With that Quentin snaps Henry into existence. “Oh I’m still using magic.” With that Q casts fly on himself and takes to the sky. Quentin and Henry dance with one another performing swirling, twirls, and loops in the sky. Quentin attesting to be elegant and copy the ice dancing he’s seen but in the sky instead of on ice.

Looking grim in the face of this competition, Lemmet squares off against Elwin's jig with a new-fangled step popular in the more expensive low-life dives in the free city... 20

Lemmet calms down a bit, though he tells his story in an aggrieved tone.
A few days ago, according to him, he came innocently riding through the forest, looking for a place to get away from his unjust sentence, and his family and their stranglehold over the liquor business in Lomalos. "Pack of leeches who burn up all the profits as fast as they come in," he growls. He noticed that the forest was full of wild grape vines, fruit trees and berry bushes. When he met an elf hanging around in the trees, he asked who owned the land, hoping to make some sort of deal about harvesting the wild produce and setting up a distillery. The elf said, "This is free land, and none rule over it but the Court of Fools. And unless I am much mistaken, you have every qualification to be their king!" Taken to the Court of Fools, Lemmet met Hollis, the then-current ruler, who offered him the chance to challenge her for the leadership. Lemmet and Hollis ran a foot race to decide the challenge. Hollis walked the entire race. ("I might have been suffering from an ingrown toenail that day," Hollis interjects.)
Supreme Wizard High Lord Lemmet soon discovered that the court had some sort of easy delivery business going on, and instead of expanding it and increasing their profits as any sane person would, they were complaining about how it restricted them, and were seriously discussing giving it up altogether. So he took a shift on the wagon, and discovered that the boat picking up the wood shavings belonged to the Red Sails Shipping company, owned by a Captain Aknot who had been going to be his distributor before his Lomalos hooch enterprise had been destroyed by a bunch of interfering, dung-faced, gormless twits.
He had written a letter to Captain Aknot, letting him know that he planned to resume business, and offering the chance to invest in his start-up costs for a partnership, but the delivery never went through the night before, the delivery business seems to have ended, and the idiot elf who was supposed to deliver the letter forgot about it and missed the chance to give it directly to the shipping company representative, and now he would have to post it, which was a much less personal and effective way to do business.
Del and Elwin would recognize the name Red Sails Shipping. They have some large warehouses in Slate City.
