Over two centuries ago, the elven city of Molaesmyr was a thriving metropolis of higher learning, a testament to the craftsmanship of the elves nestled among the beautiful Savalirwood. These days, however, the city lies abandoned and in ruins, the source of foul magic that seeps outward from the city’s epicenter, corrupting the creatures of the Savalirwood and those elves that chose to stay behind after the fall of the city, whether unwilling or unable. City and forest merge in a twisted union; the magic transforms the forest around Molaesmyr, blighting the land, twisting the forest’s denizens, transforming plant, beast, and elf alike into horrible shadows of their former selves.
Many adventures brave the ruins to seek what treasures may remain hidden within, but the magic also calls to the city those who would use it to further their dark motives. Three such entities, a coven of green hags, have made their home in the labyrinths beneath Caes Mosor, the city’s central tower. Calling the dark forces of fey and forest to them, Auntie Rottongue, Nanny Filthtouch, and Granny Pustreat send their minions to the nearby town of Shadycreek Run to snatch away unwanted children to use in their experiments: attempts to harness the magic responsible for the fall of the city for themselves.
The game:
Keelyn, a male half-elf guard in the employ of the infamous Mardoon crime family, meets with the party at the Landlocked Lady, one of the establishments of Shadycreek Run owned by the Mardoons. He explains that the city has been experiencing a string of disappearances and wants to hire the group to find out why.

Backstory:
Requilary - A container for holding sacred relics.
In order to continue his service to the world even after his death, a cleric of Eldath, Goddess of Peace, built the warforged for the purpose of keeping order and stopping violence in the world. Infusing it with the power of his deity, he then wiped Requilary of all memories related to his creator, so as to keep his sole focus on his peacekeeping duties.
The warforged knows that he does not remember his creator's name, but keeps that in the back of his memory, lest his pursuit of his origin endanger the people he was meant to protect.
Maximus enjoyed living in the forest nears the ruined city of Molaesmyr as it enabled him to live a life of seclusion, until of course the ancient magic of the city started to be twisted for evils intent. At which point he had to abandon his seclusion and set out into the world seeking help from others to eradicate the evil within. He eventually came upon a group of adventures that had similar goals and needed his guidance and so the group set out to eradicate the world of evil wherever it may lay. Thankfully now the group has turned back to the city so Maximus can continue his quest.
Backstory: Garru is youngest of a cursed line of halfling from the northern reaches of the savaleer (don't know spelling) wood. Males of his clan are stricken with minor forms of lycanthropy during adolescence and are taught to hone their ferocious appetites through magics. Garru is freshly graduated from needing supervision and has succumbed to his wanderlust, seeking fortune and adventure to sate the beast inside him. (Going to stop here, and establish party connections if I get in.)

When he became of age, he set out to travel the southern Savalirwood wood and Shady creek Run. As a follower of the Wildmother he often sang songs and old stories of the ancestors before. Lending a tune and a healing hand for all that needed it.
Background: Zeph spent his childhood with his crazy grandfather in a small cabin in the Cliffkeep mountains. After reading everything that was to offer in the house he was sent into the world to make a name for himself. Having an affinity for nature he sought out an old Druid to teach him the ways of the beast magic. Having learned what he could from her he went in search of adventure. The kind his grandfather used to talk about.

When things had settled, he returned home and used his innate healing abilities to ease the pain and suffering of the survivors while they rebuilt. He could not however, remain knowing his family had all perished there and moved away to eventually become part of an adventuring group.
