MistBusters - A Curse of Strahd PbP

(OOC - truth be told - I'm like 1/2 dead so I'm trying to encounter minimal resistance as possible unless I need to engage)

Seeing your burns, Davmorn places a hand upon you, Cure Wounds 3rd Level, 17 healed. “Don’t go dying on us. I don’t think you’ll catch as much luck as Adanmar.”

"Generally if I'm involved, the dead stay dead....I prefer it that way and it pays better." Elwarith will nod his thanks at Davmorn's healing "but we apparently need his help with Strahd so the sooner we get through here the better.  I do not like the idea of having to enter that room with the statue that burns holes through a man however...."

“Aye, same. If you’re going to be scouting this place out, you’ll need some protection.” Davmorn casts Death Ward on you since you are 1) the squishiest and 2) seem to get in trouble around here.

Meanwhile, Kasimir has removed his hand from the last of the statues, “No. These are not the ones either. They offer protection of the mind from charms and telepathy, flight, and the power to bend others to your will, but not resurrection.”

(OOC - hehe hey now :P if someone doesn't get us in to trouble we'd still be at the Vistani camp - hehe )

To Kasimir "No power comes freely, there is always some type of catch.....usually detrimental to the receiver of the gift."

Kasimir responds as he examines the statue from afar, “I am well aware, Mr. Elwarith. It is a price that I am willing to pay if it offers the chance for my sister’s redemption.”

"Understandable....and that is your choice....we are here to help you with that, it is my hope that the rest of the Mistbusters understand that as well......if you say this room does not hold what you require then it appears we have no choice but to deal with this statue...let me go look..."

Elwarith looks out in to the darkened chamber containing the statue and the pillars and will attempt to make his way to the pillar between them and the statue to try and get a better look at the statue.

(OOC - heads up this will probably fail - so prepare for the worst since I still have a level of exhaustion)

[Stealth: 15]

As you stealth forward, you cross the threshold and a sickly beam of green energy streaks from the statue’s darkened head into your chest. Kasimir will attempt to counterspell, 20. However, the magic proves too much to be countered. Cold and decay courses through your chest, please make a CON save vs 56 necrotic Damage as you are struck with a Finger of Death.

 (OOC - Oh I am so dead....)

That you are. As the beam hits you, you feel your life instantly ebb away. In that moment, Elwarith dies. OR at least he would if his soul was not instantly pulled back into his body by Davmorn’s death ward! You are alive, safe behind the pillar, at 1 HP.

"Ouch.... hey watch out for that statue...." and Elwarith will slump to the ground with his back against the pillar. 

As the others moved away Bry lingered for a second and placed his hand on the stone that Kasimir indicated would grant the ability bend the will of others. "Alright there mystical forces, lets see what you've got"
