The knight eyes are still fixed on Elwarith, in them is still the harsh gleam of distrust.  However, because of Grim's angry rant, Samudra's apology, and George's earnest honesty, the knight lowers his blade.  "You... are strange people... I know not what to make of you.  If you truly oppose the dark lord of these lands... then you will come to Argnvasthold.  I must... convince my lord to raise his blade and take up arms... allies would be welcome..." The knight peels his glare away from Elwarith and looks to all of you, "Do what you must... but know that the only true opposition to Strahd lies in Argnvasthold."

"we are on a mission to....do....," Grim's face scrunches up with thought, "Well I don't remember, but we are also looking for a dusk elf who can help us defeat strahd. We welcome your help, and welcome you as a ally." Grim's hand is still outstretched for a handshake.

The knight grabs Grim's forearm and shakes it.  "I will be taking my leave..." The knight pulls him close and whispers in his slow and dry tone, "Remember Argnvasthold.  Beware your liar... the greatest lies are laced with truths." With that, the knight turns to leave.

Grim nods his head to the leaving Knight and climbs into the wagon, "Well, let's get going."

Elwarith shrugs and smiles at the knight....

Samudra glares at Elwarith "You weren't such an as ass when I met you. Well, don't judge a book by its cover. Especially when it's a very good cover."

((Wanted to give some of the later hour players a chance to post if they had anything to say about the knight, but seems silence reigns for now))

The knight continues his trek back into the forest, his gaunt, armored form disappearing once again into the mists.  The rest of the trip is fairly smooth, albeit eerily silent and still as another thirty minutes passes in the wagon.  The MistBusters had left fairly early in the morning, so there is still plenty of sunlight, if one could call the baleful hazy glow of this place sunlight, left in the day. Tall shapes loom out of the dense fog that surrounds ev­erything. The muddy ground under foot gives way to slick, wet cobblestones. The tall shapes become recognizable as village dwellings. The windows of each house stare out from pools of blackness. No sound cuts the silence except for mournful sobbing that echoes through the streets from a distance.  

"George have bad feeling about this."  George jump off wagon and draw greataxe. 

Grim readies his Quarterstaff, "me too buddy, me too." He says to George. ((Nvm, had the wrong idea))

Several darkened houses line the square, resting in eerie silence for the morning.  A single building thrusts an modicum of life and sound into the main square. Above the gaping doorway, a sign hangs pre­ cariously askew, proclaiming this to be the Blood on the Vine tavern.

Grim walks in holding his Quarterstaff and trying to look like you don't want to mess with him. (( 8 Intimidation))

As Grim strides into the bar, the end of the staff hits the doorframe, causing Grim to trip and stumble a little bit. Nothing too bad.

Samudra hisses and places a hand on her Scimitar as she enters the tavern slightly crouching and very much looking like she's ready to lop off anyone's head that comes too near to her (intimidation check 8 )
