Inspecting the strongbox, you can make out three tumblers with numbers from one to fifty on each. As you look through nearby ledgers and scraps of paper, you find plenty of number combinations, but none that would fit the three tumblers.
Blair, do you want to remain outside or enter the store too?

Murph drunkenly, gently, swears to himself, listing numbers, and huddles over the box, lockpicks out and concealed from robit-view. He tries to pick the lock, and making sounds as if he's trying different combinations and just forgot the numbers. He turns to Dart and beckons him closer, as if he's trying to get a stuck tumbler to move, but he's really pointing out any sticking points in the lockpicking activity, trying to see if this new friend has any experience. He'd happily accept help on this endeavor...
Lockpick/sleight-of-hand: 8 (second roll separate if the help actually works: 15)
Try as you might, the surface of the strongbox is smooth, bar the tumblers. There is no obvious place for you to insert the lockpicks. As you're before the strongbox though, you realise that what you're pretending to be must occasionally occur... after all, from your breif observation of the gnome tailor, you already knew he was headed out for entertainment in the evening, the day after a bombing and a sabotage attempt in the harbour. That means it's not unlikely that he has to return and set the tumblers to the right combination, even when drunk, or when hungover the next morning. Whatever the combination was, it would have to be something very personal or something very simple.

(Are there any numbers on the automata? Any books in his personal area?)
”Come on man? Ye forgot the combination again.” I give Murph a smack on the back of the head while watching for any reaction from our shadows(Automata). “Don’t tell have it written down some where?”
As you look around the private chambers of the tailor, you notice three lithographs scattered among the books on his shelf. They depict him and a beautiful gnomish wife in elegant clothes and both with garlands in their heair. You sumise that this is a picture of their wedding. As you turn the picture around, you see it marked with a date: "Theresa and Wilburr 08.10.1847". The second image shows the same two gnomes, with a small child swaddled in a blanket on the arm of the woman. The back of the image bears an inscription that reads "Ellie 02.05.1851". The third of the images shows four figures, the two parents, a little girl on the father's knee, and a second child in her mother's arms. This one reads "Nora 13.07.1855".

Murph, having noticed that none of the tumblers go above fifty, you enter the combination, and with a satisfying click, the strongbox swings open. Inside, you see three compartments. One is a jewellery box, with a fitting for a ring, currently empty. The second is a stash of money and jewels, glancing at it at least 150 gold pieces worth, though the gems might be worth more. At the bottom of the strongbox, there are three scrolls, rolled up tightly.

Murph also has a corner of an eye on them. But he grins and gently pulls out the reams of paper. "I told you!"he says with a slow chuckle. He tries to look at what's inside each. If he sees plans and schematics on each, he'll take them out. If he only sees them on one, he'll take that one. He looks up and nods at Blair and then at Dart, and then at Blair again. "Few minutes? See what's interesting out there, maybe this's less B&E and more mimeography."If it seems like he has time and Blair and Dart report no interest in the store, he'll try to copy over the plans right there. If Blair and Dart seem to notice anything concerning, he'll just take them with, close the lockbox nicely, put everything as it was, and then depart. He'll do the same if things seem safe until they don't and he has to leave quickly. He'd like to copy over the plans without taking them, but he's fine with taking them elsewhere to do it outside the shop. He still plans on returning the originals, even if he has to leave them outside with a note.
As Murph lifts the three scrolls out from the lockbox, he sees a strange glimmer below them, which suddenly starts to intensify. "Oh f-!" is the only thought that crosses your mind, as you realise you've triggered a glyph of warding underneath the scrolls!
Murph and Dart, please make a Dexterity saving throw, DC 13. If you fail, you will take 23 thunder damage, or half that if you succeed.

’Over eager fool.’ I think to myself as I recoil from the thunderous noise that just emanated from the trunk.
I then start laughing. “What a great surprise.” While trying to ignore the ringing in my ears. Then quietly to Murph “That’s likely time draw attention. We should go.”

"Oop!" Blair's eyes would go wide at the loud booming sound before relaxing a little, a soft chuckle would leave her lips. She'd smirk to herself. "I should've known those two would start the fun without me." The redhead would slink into the shop.
I turn to Murph and say tersely, “I don’t think we’re getting out of here without a scrap if you want the plans or whatever you’re here for. Shall we run or fight?”

If Murph sees these, he'll try 8, 10, and 47.
Looking around the room further I’ll look for anymore clues that might indicate which of those dates hold more importance to this gnomish tailor.

just an unstable unicorn.
I turn to Murph and say tersely, “I don’t think we’re getting out of here without a scrap if you want the plans or whatever you’re here for. Shall we run or fight?”
"Grab and go!" Muprh says, with all traces of drunkenness gone from his voice (replaced with mild panic).
Running in, only to catch Murph instructing to run out, Blair would definitely give a look of confusion. She'd ready to turn on her heels in she must.
