Captain Kain unties the last rope and is left with a giant bundle, "How bout ya make use of your humble Goliathness and help me with these ropes, will ya?" he shouts as Guhner introduces himself. The sleeves are rolled to reveal a set of burly, hairy arms, but his small size seems to be giving him trouble with the ropes.
The headmaster raises a bushy eyebrow as Jack gives his introduction. "No one is 'just a simple commoner' when their part of this race my friend. But to each his own." Ever vigilant Jack will also notice that The Batniks have got their ship ready and are all now working to raise the sail in tension filled silence.
Before Mouse can finish speaking to Headmaster Northstar, he switches from his conversation from Jack to the students, "Alright students! I suggest you renew your warmth charms and get comfy! Remember, this is counting towards your practical exam!"
Professor Lionheart looks at Mouse with a set bright green eyes. "Thats a logical idea, Mr. Mouse, and luckily we've thought of that." he says curtly. He stands with military like attention, so much so that Mouse is almost sure he has military training. Mouse sees that his face not only has pimples but several scars as well. He has a deep frown on his face and a relatively calm demeanor, but Mouse can see a raging fire of annoyance burning in his eyes. He is deferentially ticked about something.
The boy who gave Matilda a highfive, now known as Jason Holk, sets his broom on the floor of the boat and grabs the rope. As he grins he gives it a hard tug which is able to pull Matilda's small form up and on to the deck! "You okay?" he asks. Jason is the tallest among his classmates, and he looks to be the oldest as well. As he gives a concerned grin Matilda notices that he has perfect teeth, well, perfect other than the fact that he's missing a few! On the chest of his woolly black robes is a badge with a golden N and a black and yellow striped background.
Captain Kain shouts, "Once these ropes get on board, we can leave, all 'ight?!?!"

Jack will find a place to stand that provides him a good view of the Batniks ship and start carving. He will try and get a read on the batniks while he carves in a few more details of the crocodile.

The monk begins to carve as he watches the Batniks set sail. Its quite obvisous that Team 7 do not get along. Even now, a new argument has started!
"Will you please shuddup!?! I'l tyrna tell this little girl off!" the old wizard yells with slurred speach. His face is laden with wrinkles and in one hand he holds a charred staff and in the other a bottle of whisky.
"Who you calling little you old drunk bastard?!?!?!" the human girl shouts! She has her hand on one of her swords and she seething with anger!
"Don't tell me to shut up! I've a right to say whatever I want! And he's calling you little, cuz you are!" the halfling says through gritted teeth. On his shoulder a small monkey screeches as loud as it can!
"I think we should all be quiet for the moment." mumbles the half-orc as he wraps himself in his cloak. His lion takes up half the boat, and it's calmly curled at his feet.
"Your not even part of this, Al!" the girl says in reply!
"No! No, I wanta hear what the halfbreed says!" spits the wizard before chugging from his bottle.
"Put your drink down, Bromswell, or so help me I'll-" the halfling starts.
"Your what? Punch me? Like ya could ya half pint!"
The girl smiles and cups her hands around her mouth, "Bromswell! Look! A rhinoceros!"
The old man drops to the deck like a sack of potatoes! "What?!?! Where?!?!?! Hide me!!!!!!!!"
The halfling and girl burst out laughing as the wizard realizes hes been had!
"I'll burn ya to a crisp!"
"You won't coward!"
The fighting continues, the girl and wizard exchanging cruel insults, while the halfling starts on a rant and the orc occasionally cuts in with a quick remark. They seem like a wonderful group of people, no?
The gnome scowls angrily at Guhner and continues to struggle with the ropes, eventually managing to load them aboard. He spits into the ocean and boards his own vessel, prepared for take off!
Mouse raises an eyebrow at the stiff response from the red haired man. He gave off a distinct militaristic air. Perhaps that is why he showed little to no gratitude towards someone who'd helped them continue on their journey. He probably didn't want to be involved in the first place. And of course the students would need a capable chaperone on such a dangerous trip.
Maybe the details were off, but Mouse was sure the man had his undergarments in a bunch. Pushing his spectacles back on the bridge of his pointed nose, he said, "Well then I'll leave you to it! No need to thank us! Honestly, everyone loves kids. You know what I mean. Of course you do! Very well.."
With an awkward salute to the green eyed man, he turned once more on his heel and strode off to see what useful things he could learn about the ship.
The professor merely gives a blank stare and turns to yell at the Zinzulzin twins to stop collecting barnacles from the side of the boat.
The ship is made out of a strange combination of metal, wood, and plastic, a new substance that was only invented in the past decade, meaning that despite its condition the boat was 10 years old at most! Mouse also discovers that the mast and sail are added on via nails and welding, same story with the metal blade on the front. The boat as a few gashes in the side, crudely welded close, and the wheel of the ship is under a small metal canopy which has a curtain hanging between it an the rest of the ship, creating a small, little, makeshift, captain's cabin. From front to back the boat is about 20ft long and from side to side looks to be a little less than 10ft. Just enough to fit you all on when you include the fishing supplies and extra parts already on the ship.
With everyone aboard the captain does one last check and raises the sail! The frigid winds quickly grab hold of the boat and you are pushed into the icy waters! Than...!
Nothing... The ship begins its journey in an awkward silence...
OOC: I think I forgot to mention that this is a roleplay heavy campaign... so yeah, I'm giving you guys a little bit more roleplay time if you want! ;p
"So mouse......... how did you come to know that little companion of yours?" Jack asks in a good hearted spirit as he continues to whittle away at the wood.
With someone breaking the silence the ship explodes into a cacophony of conversations!
Hadmaster Northstar leans in to hear Mouses answer, but at the same time says, "Matilda, if I may call you that, I sense strong transfiguration magic from you! What wizard school did you attend?"
Arthur Torbs ended up squished between Guhner and the sickly looking seabird, While the pale faced twins lean forward in unison and one says, "Sir, may we extract some of your blood?" then the other one says, "Or perhaps a bit of your beard hair?"
Guhner chuckles at the curiosity of the twins before turning to Arthur. "Do you need help with that?" he asks, motioning to his axe. He turns to the twins. "Why do you want his blood?"

Arthur gives a nervous smile and than gulps when when Guhner motions to his axe!
"I'm afraid you misunderstood us sir. Some of YOUR blood, hair or flesh, not Arthur's" one explains. The other says, "We have enough of Arthur's. And its your BEARD hair, to be exact." Arthur seems shocked that the twins even have his blood, hair, and skin! Then the twins say in unison, "We've never met a Goliath before, and we would like to use your blood and hair in some potions. We are sure that your race's essence could be useful in making some Strength Elixirs."
The Twins speak in low, almost whispery tones, and their eyes seem to scan or search instead of look, so to speak. On the chest of their robes is a badge with a golden N and a dark green and pink striped backgrounds.
Guhner rubs his smooth chin and cuts his finger, allowing some of the blood to flow. He takes some of the hair from his beard. "This is special hair, goliaths usually can't grow it, but I have a special connection with spirits."
Hadmaster Northstar leans in to hear Mouses answer, but at the same time says, "Matilda, if I may call you that, I sense strong transfiguration magic from you! What wizard school did you attend?"
"Does communing with the flow of the swamp count as a school? Because than I got straight A's! " Matilda looks at Headmaster Northstar *confused* (maybe) look. "You see headmaster, I come from a long family line of druids. My great great great great great great....great grandmama became one with our swamp and its been in our bloodline every since! Who needs a fancy school when all you gotta do is just look a gator in the eye and turn yourself into one and earn your right as the gator alpha!"

The Headmaster does seem to confused, (and maybe slightly offended) but after the druid explains his he gives an eye twinkling smile!
"Ha! I always forget that their are other ways to learn magic than the way I did! It's no surprise that you hail from a swamp of course, all that raw life energy is perfect for druid magic... I assume."
He then pulls out a pipe and a few colorful herbs from his satchel bag, lites his pipe by pointing his finger at it, and begins puffing away. "Do you smoke?" he asks before his eyes begin twinkling again! "Tell me Matilda... how many animals can you transform into?"
The Twins imminently start to pull out bottles to catch the blood and hold the hair!
"Ah, yes. Of course! If your kind can't usually grow it well than the worth and potency must be miraculous!" one says as he collects Guhner's blood. "Thank you sir, this will excel are research exponentially!" the other says as he uses tweezers to gently take the hair from Guhner's hand and gingerly put it in a small flask.
"No brewing on the ship, Zinzulzins!" Professor Lionheart says from the other side of the boat. He than turns his attention to Guhner! "And please don't encourage their avaricious attempts."
"Raw is a great way to say it! Nothing beats the smell of fungi and still water in the mornin'!" She turns excited to the head master. "Does a snapper turtle need help when they are flipped upside down? I'll take a puff!" She will take a long puff of the pipe.
"Counting that gorgeous lion that the other team had...I got a real good drawing of the beaut here too!" She pulls out her sopping wet notebook and proudly shows the sketch of the lion. The scratched next to the sketch reads Kitten. "I have documented and been able to transform into six different animals! It is one of my specialties, so I've been trying to seek more out to document and sketch since leaving the swamp. Kitten has been the first one, so I will need to try my hand at giving him a whirl later!"
Guhner shrugs at Professor Lionheart. "Students need encouragement and I thought your magic was about experimentation. Sometimes it's good to take risks."
