Normally Mouse would avoid a bar fight, or use the opportunity to practice his trade. But sometimes you have too much to drink, before deciding the loud mouth at the head of the table full of jerk-offs pinching and grabbing at the waitresses, and bumping and jostling any man who wasn't with them when they passed, deserved a little comeuppance. So instead of pick pocketing him when you bump, you just spill both of your drinks all over each other. So you try to con your way out of a less than fortuitous situation. But things move fast when your drunk and surrounded by good spirited fellow patrons.
Next thing you know you're around a large table with a steak to your eye, laughing loudly with six new friends. Drinking heavily and showing off your little brown pet mouse named Rat, that managed to pilfer the jerk-offs coin purse amidst the brawl! "I do, hic! I do believe, hic! That the next round is on Rat my friends."
Just my fun way of saying Mouse, in a bar fight, is not inconceivable! Nothing has to have gone down exactly this way.
Ah yes. The country of Azairia. A once proud and rich country that has crumbled to a shadow of embarrassment. 30 years ago, King Mortimer Thornwood took the throne and has only orders drafts and raise taxes since. His seemingly endless conquest southward has put the entire country in a depression. Luckily, as long as you pay the hefty taxes the king and his men leave you alone.
That's the deal the small town of Coalburn has at least. The people manage to pat there taxes and they are so far north the effects of the war have fails to reach them yet. The citizens spend their days working in the coal mines battling the bitter cold.
But that changed when news of the great explorer, noble, hunter, baker, archeologist, sportsman, and tycoon Atlas Darrk's newest exploits came around. Atlas had done the impossible! He had scaled the unscaleble Frostbite Peak! And found a entire kingdoms worth of gold at the top! Atlas, already rich and not caring to get richer, had left it there and had already traveled east to new adventure!
At the behest of his advisor, King Thornwood has decided to host a royal competition instead of outright taking the treasure! (With a large entrance fee of course)
So that is why, in the dead of winter, the sleepy town of Coalburn was alive and awake! As a light snow fell to the ground, black smoke rises from every chimney. The docks are full of ships of all shapes and sizes and the town square is full!of people and street performers! That is where our adventurers find themselves now, only an hour away from the opening ceremony!
Feel free to describe your characters and what they're up to!
Jack is a 18 year old human male a little under six foot tall. He has short black hair and bright green eyes. His skin is decently tanned, you can tell he's spent much of his time outdoors in the sun. He wears a dark green hooded jacket that's tail goes down to his knees. He has a white shirt on underneath, black pants and dark brown boots. Altogether simple but effective attire. On his back is the normal explorers backpack filled with the essential items and in his hands is a worn but well cared for quarterstaff.
The young monk walks up and down the docks trying to guess which ship Mr. Burke had rented. Alas, the odd shopkeep hadn't even confirmed he was able to get one. You were supposed to meet him in the square an hour ago but he was nowhere to be found.
Looking at the boats is a rather entertaining thing to do. Most are fishing boats but a few stand out. One has large black sails and the image of a merman carved on the front. Another seems to be covered in gold and ivory and yet another seems to be made out of metal and instead of sails have fins and a propeller!
A goliath of seven feet, with gray skin and thunderbolt tattoos, surveys the area. He wears leathers, exposing small tufts of brown-red hair - unusual for a male goliath - and carries his mighty axe. Word of the king's competition has intrigued him and he is looking for the closest group who can help him.

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
To the goliath: have you seen a man called Burke around here? He is supplying a boat for me and a few other adventures..... wait a second were you in that bar fight last night?! I can barely remember what happened!
Frederick is a nineteen year old ruggedly handsome man, with shaggy dark brown and the beginnings of a beard due to not shaving recently. His clothing is simple but efficient for the task ahead. Most nights like tonight, he'd find himself staring down multiple flagons. There was treasure to be found today though. He'd be able to drink much more once he was a rich man.

Character with new rolled stats.
https://ddb.ac/characters/23526370/e86btN
So I have:
Westervel as himself
Yuknow as Mouse
Rougewolf as Jack
Bobthetree as Matilda
Whitefury as Gorarinn
Al as Guhner
Humble as a tabaxi warlock(still need stats)
If all of that's right than we can begin whenever!
"Matila reporting for duty!"
DM - A Quest for the Shunned City (Groups 1 and 2)
Sounds good to me!
So how do we know each other? A bar fight makes sense to me.
OOC: Guhner would totally take part in a bar fight. I like that idea.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Jack would to if he was A drunk or B thought the people deserved it.
Ready to go! Frederick spends a lot of time in bars, so works for me.
My character can do that
also here is link for the new character: https://www.dndbeyond.com/profile/Wh1tefuryGamer/characters/23530105

I shake my head and try to track him down.
Do I need a Investigation roll?
