Thalion listens intently to the aarakocra, committing his final words to memory - an elf ended up with quite a few of them, after all. He nods in grim understanding, looking at one of the unforgiving walls of the ward as if he could see the corruption festering beyond them.
Before he could even blink his wrist was in Errk's grasp. As always he was astonished with the birdman's speed and strength; he felt more fit than ever after their intense sparring session earlier but even now could do little to evade his grip. For a moment the cloudy-headed feeling he had been plagued with since he had foolishly taken that cursed trinket was cast aside and Errk's words rang clear.
"Trust my heart... I understand. You've taught me to trust myself again, friend," he says with a bow of his head. With his wrist released he turns quickly to leave, more focused than ever on their mission.
"You're right, of course. No more dawdling! We have our disguises, we have our key, and most importantly we're together. Er, that being said, I wouldn't mind having my weapons back," he says with a sheepish laugh. "Let's go get our equipment back."
(I'm here -- just wasn't sure if that was the plan; y'all are okay with just heading for the exit of the hospital ward?)

I looked back a few pages and getting out is definitely one of the harder objectives. We have guard uniforms, but it might be kind of hard to wear those and carry all of our gear out of the jail with Nevlav in tow.
(No, you're good -- that's everything. Once you're out, you told Dr. Aleksei to meet you at a bar/fighting pit in the Parapets called The Dole, but unless you wanted to rescue Brightaxe or any of the other prisoners you interacted with, that's where you are at._
As the group of you move towards the exit of the hospital ward, Nevlav in tow, no one other than those whom you have already interacted with seems to pay you much mind. You see from the entrance to Yualkid's "social club," Stanley is watching you closely, but his eyes do not betray even the slightest flicker or recognition. There are two guards standing at the entrance to the door, but neither seems that inclined to stop you. Instead, one of the guards, a lean, youngish looking half-orc is openly ogling the elven doctor that Yoric spoke to earlier. The other, an equally young human woman seems to be concentrating on figuring out how many times she can spin her baton in the air and still catch it. Even as you approach, you can see her drop the baton with a clatter a few times.
The half-orc doesn't even look at you as he turns the large wheel of the door open for you. "Enjoy your decontamination. Mmm...what I wouldn't give to join her in the decontamination, eh? You know what I'm talking about, eh, pal?"
He elbows Thalion as the human guard rolls her eyes in exaggerated fashion. "You're a pig, Sarog. Like that pretty doctor would even give you the time of day. Just let 'em through. They look like they're done for"
The door swings open and you enter a larger chamber that has a few nozzles on either side of the room that all seem to be attached to some sort of pipe or vent. Behind the nozzles are some lockers and at the end of the room is a large door with an old-fashioned lock. On either side of the door are a couple of windows, but at the moment, there does not seem to be anyone around in the corridor on the other side of the door.
"while I don't have a uniform, I believe my armor helps show me as someone other than a prisoner. Maybe we just knock? I will join Alden on look out duty," Nevlav shuffles over first looking through the windows and then paying attention to both the exits.
Thalion recoils from the overly familiar half orc guard, almost adopting a fighting posture that might have given them away. He steadies himself with a deep sigh and carries on, catching up with the others as they debate how to escape.
"This key looks like a 'front door' sort of key to me. Why don't we just head for the entrance and if anyone stops us we can just say we're escorting Nevlav while he does some sort of inspection of the place," he suggests.
(OOC: Errk said that the key should open every door "on this level" which should include this door, if its locked. You are a few stories below surface level -- once you leave this level, the key may or may not work).
Yoric searching through the lockers while the others keep watch, you see not much of value --you find six silver, a few extra guard uniforms and clubs, and a few personal effects -- clothing that would fit humans, gnomes, and dwarves of various sizes, a fiddle, and a flask full of what smells like rum.

Alden and Nevlav you see a few guards come and go from the elevator down the corridor to the left and occasionally escorting a prisoner down the long dark hallway the other way that seems to lead to cells. Nothing really out of the ordinary.
Thalion shrugs and inserts the key into the keyhole and turns it. "It's just a shame we had to use this key like this instead of Errk and his followers using it to gain freedom," he says with a sigh. "But we have to carry on with the mission."

I think our plan so far is just to get our stuff back. So heading out, and seeing what we see.

(Yeah, the plan seems to be get our stuff back... and then come up with a plan, haha.)
I agree...I think we were ready to head for the exit and resupply.

challenges:
- passing for guards
- getting our stuff
- getting Nevlav out with us
are we missing anything?

Alden
Alden gets inside and looks around as well.
"Let's first see if its open. And if it's not we can try the key we got from Thalion's friend." he says.
Alden also keeps a look out for other guards.
"while I don't have a uniform, I believe my armor helps show me as someone other than a prisoner. Maybe we just knock? I will join Alden on look out duty," Nevlav shuffles over first looking through the windows and then paying attention to both the exits.

Alden listens to Thalion and a puzzled look crosses his face. "Try using the key on the door" he asks.
(OCC: I thought it was stated in the OCC thread that the key does fit this door am I correct or off base?)

Alden
Alden stands by keeping a look out but is a bit excited to discover what the room holds.
"Lets be quick about this" he says with a smile. "We need out of this place."
