A burst of light and heat erupts around out. Your hair and your cloths immediately catch on fire. The sense of heat turns quickly to pain, and soon after, your last breath escapes your lungs fueling the fire that consumes you.
You wake up on the floor with one level of exhaustion and half of your hit points. Maghiel is gone. Somehow the magic that is twisting time and space worked to your fortune. Dain, was not so fortunate and still lies dying on the ground.

On brand, Bilick wakes up cursing, patting the singed hair on his arms and skin. He touches his beard to make sure its intact and then looks around to make sure the rest of his companions are okay. Seeing Dain lay dying with Purbag and Kendrick around him, Bilick will rush over and without a word, place his hands on Dain and cast Cure Wounds whimpering slightly as another wave of pain racks him, but he is able to restore 5 hit points to Dain.
Sitting back on the ground as Bilick moves in to save the priest’s life, Kendrick starts mumbling to himself after, apparently, he triggered a fiery temporal paradox, mumbling to himself, ”She exploded Tsendur’s tower and stole the magic artifact that is causing all the trouble. She killed that poor boy’s parents. And she was about to kill that other elf...How could I not have tried to stop her?”

(Good call on the opportunity attack. I had a feeling I was missing something.)
As you start to gather your wits about you, you hear the twisted whispering sounds of shadows approaching. It's unlikely that you will get any rest here. The crimson path twists ahead to a stone structure. From the outside, this is nothing more than a round chunk of a tower, suspended in the darkness. Within… it is a treasure trove of knowledge. The walls are lined with bookshelves, fifteen feet high, with more spiraling inwards to fill the room. A narrow path through them leads to a pair of broad, semicircular desks. Maghiel sits at one of them, frowning intensely as she traces something from a huge leatherbound book. She is studying an atlas and tracing a page that shows a village at the foot of the Kelder Mountains, due east of the Sky Keep Ruins.

Kendrick:
Moving onward with the others when it becomes clear the shadows will attack if they don't continue forward, Kendrick seems reserved and watches the scene silently, chagrined by his last attempt at interacting with whatever this apparition is. He does seem to watch her intently though, as if looking for signs of wounds from his weapon or an indication she knows the group is watching her, but his tired eyes make it difficult to focus (taking disadvantage on skills due to level 1 exhaustion).

Bilick follows the group, silently, not even complaining about his wounds for once, and as they see Maghiel, he backs up and grabs Dain's shoulder. "Listen, lad. I thought these echoes could nae hurt us? I dinnae think we can tangle with this one again and come out of it alive, ye ken? Is there any way we can avoid her?"
"I no like this magic. I no like much magic at all"he says with a hint of venom in his voice. "Kill evil elf lady?"Osso draws a hand axe and cocks his arm back. "Yes?" he questions one last time.
Maghiel fades out of existence right before your eyes. The deep indentations of her tracing, as well as the outline of words, are clearly visible on the page. Her notes say “Lapo - find the Magister’s Temple here.”
Dain explains that you are in one of the Academy’s many libraries and they may choose to use it for research. Successful DC 13 Intelligence (History) or Intelligence (Arcana) checks will help them to locate information about Maghiel or the Battle of Gambedel’s Bridge.
(Woof -- I think Tella is the only one of us who has any bonuses in either of those skills. Can we all research or would you prefer that one or two of us only try?)
OOC: Is Lapo a place that Kendrick has come across in his sailings?
"This Lapo place, can we find a map or that atlas here to guide us there? It would seem to be Maghiel's destination," asks Kendrick, making himself comfortable and finally getting a rest while the smart ones do the research.
(From the first adventure you would have learned that the Clasp was stolen by a female elven magician.)
Elruen, drops to the floor unconscious
Maghiel 19 AC, 30 HP 38-10-1-9=18HP
"You fools!" Maghiel shouts. "You must have no idea who I am." She sprints back create space between the party and herself and casts Fireball

((Here I was reading the first post and thought to myself...Well so ends our journey. TPK for sure. Received when I read the second one. ))
Kendrick:
(Not That it matters, but here is the opportunity attack Kendrick makes as she leaves his threatened area:)
Attack: 12 Damage: 6
...later...
”Uh, Sorry,” says Kendrick, looking over at the dying Dwarf, “Can anyone heal him?”

"Purbag no spells. Purbag only fix battle wounds. Purbag can help?"
Purbag will Help in any way he can. He has only stitched up wounds from blades and the likes, nothing at this scale.

(Well, Tella's dead cuz she only has ten HP) :(
(Tella -- the weird, timey-wimey nature of the passageway we are in saved us. You should have 5 HP left and one level of exhaustion).
Kendrick:
Sighing in relief, Kendrick sits heavily and rests while he can (taking a short rest if possible, spending a HD).
