What seems to be going on around The Mongoose? Anything out of the ordinary? Do we see an obvious "guests enter here please" sign or entryway somewhere to get aboard The Mongoose?
Nothing out of the ordinary except for the live dinosaur being moved off the ship.
Some of the sailors look at you suspiciously. There is a gangplank leading up to the deck. On the ship itself, there are sailors everywhere. It becomes obvious that the ship was made to transport goods. Not passengers. When you are all on the ship (after your ship passes have been checked), the gangplank is raised and the ship leaves the dock.
If you search below deck, you find that there are hammocks hanging from the ceiling. Cages containing exotic creatures (that should be extinct) are mixed in with the sleeping quarters. Below the sleeping quarters of the ship is the galley/common room. Alien delicacies line the food storage. Barrels of foreign wine are piled into mountains. In the common room there is a bunch of stools forming a ring around the center. On the wall is a crudely drawn cartoon of a fuzzy animal eating a snake. At the bottom level of the ship is the main storage. Barrels, crates, chests, trunks, and other forms of storage form mountainous stacks forming a labyrinth of cargo. Each container is labeled with the destination of the cargo.
Note: For players who haven't been tracking their XP, you should have started with 900 XP. You should now have 975 XP each.

Devious serpent folk devoid of compassion, yuan-ti manipulate other creatures by arousing their doubts, evoking their fears, and elevating and crushing their hopes. From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.

It's nice to know that people can transport dinosaurs. The only thing that kept me from using them for farming back when I was a Farmer-priest was the logistical difficulties of shipping huge, territorial reptiles over the ocean. I am glad technology has progressed this far.
The triceratops grunts, getting a bit of spit on Grigor's face.
"George" then slithers below the sleeping quarters of the ship and heads toward the galley.

Yup. The cook wants him to rid the galley and the rest of the ship of rats.

I shall help my serpentine friend in the case that he stumbles upon something dangerous. I've heard tales of giant rats in the Waterdeep sewers, and they could easily stow away on this fine ship. I have always hated those crop-destroying vermin.
If there are windows, and any hammocks near said windows, I put my bag in the nearest one to the others. I then grab one of my waterproof maps and locate Chult on it. ( Who had Karissa's map? Grigor? )
(Rat) I will quietly release my familiar and inspect the ship and passengers through its sense (using Find Familiar abilities). Does anything suspicious come up during this investigation?
Nope. No chief sage, no escaped dinosaurs, nothing out of the ordinary. But, on the upside, you found the captain's cabin. He's the only one who doesn't sleep in a hammock.

(Rat) I walk around wide-eyed, "This is awesome! I've actually never been on a ship before..."
I will find a hammock at the end of a path or a corner so that I can see everyone who is approaching and rest there for a bit.
Might as well take a long rest for the journey ahead.

Rat's hammock is right next to a cage containing a live triceratops."George" slips out of Grigor's pocket and coils up on the floor.

George! Come back! You'll get crushed over there!
I chase after George.

I just keep following george.
I then look for George:
18
I think I found him.

Ooc: Grigor (me) has the map, but he's off hunting rats in the hold with George.

Great news! "George" ate two rats!

After their rat hunt, Grigor will bring George back to the hammock and read some holy texts (farmer's almanacs, but holier) aloud.
