As far as both Errol and Falzren can tell, what could be used to make the building more secure had seemingly been used. Perhaps the furniture could be used as barricades. You will find several upstairs windows that work as a spot to use a bow or ranged magic.
While everything else is going on, Belmarm returns his attention again to the parties host. "I am sorry, but lost in there. But, you say he fed from you, and yet did not spirit away? How can this be?" He asked as polite as could be. "And can you describe the moment in which you first met this Lordling? Did he not say anything at all? Or are having trouble remembering the moment?" He then looks Ismark. "And for you, Ismark, seeing as you've been more incline to leave your home... Are these lands always so ladden with Mist? And so overcast, at that?"

Ireena frowns slightly and shakes her head. I don't remember much of it except the look of hunger in his eyes.... I do not know why he did not take me. Perhaps something made him flee..." She then turns to the room with her father's coffin.
"Yes it is always so. We get just enough light to see during the day but the sun never shines through all the way. It is the same with the mists, they have been here for as long as any of us are able to remember."
Noting the heaviness of the furniture, Errol asks, "Could I get some help moving this furniture to the weak points in our defense? I can identify where they need to go, but--oof--I am not strong enough to move them by myself," he adds, grunting with effort.

At Erol's complaint, Belmarm just gives Nadariel a look if the half-elf hadn't already moved to help. Because scrawny arms McGee Belmarm wasn't gonna lift a finger if he could help it! Not for something as extraneous as things sounded at the moment. "Interesting. Frustrating! But... interesting... and the reason you had not simply burned the body, and been done with it out of curiosity? Certainly a far greater gurantee of success in lowering the undead count from a physical point. Or is that a tradition sort of reason?" He asked. "Also, out of curiosity, are we... are there any other outsiders -- the Vistani(?) not withstanding -- or within your own ranks that have not tried to get rid of this Lord?"

The two looked rather horrified and angered by the suggestion that they burn the body of their father, Ismark taking several moments to respond. "It would not do to do such a thing to my father. But onto your next question from what I know many others have tried and failed."
With some difficulty the group managed to get the furniture against the week points in the defence.
Nadariel sits down and leans against one of the inner walls, watching the front door and the last rays of sunlight that sneak through the barricaded windows.
“Ismark, i may have a strange question: What is the name of the next bigger settlement if you travel east past the huge gates? I think i know the answer, but please, humor me.”
As he listens, he takes a crystal, shaped like a blunt arrow head the sice of your hand and made from black glass, from his bag and just holds it in his open hand.
Belmarm glances back to Falzaren, then to an already assisting Tierra before shaking his head. With four already at work -- or were working -- there appeared no need for fifth by that much. Plus, the horrified and angered looks had drawn him back to the duo, leaving him a bit spellbound in confusion. 'What kind of mad tradition would have them risk feeding the land more corpses to rise against them?' He thought, but outwardly kept up the polite veneer.
"And no details to recount how they tried, I see? Very well. This will do for now, as far as I'm concerned." He said before walking off to find some comfortable spot on the first floor to both guard and eventually sit down to trance.

Ismark frowned as he could only give a shrug in answer to the question. "The only large settlement in Barovia is the village of Vallaki." He explained. "As for the ones to come before you they all died soon after arriving as far as my knowledge goes.
Just finishing up with the furniture, Errol startles at Ismark's words. "Wait, you are unaware of any lands beyond Barovia? And whenever newcomers arrive here from realms unknown, they die quickly...How exactly do they die? Not trying to protect you in your house, I hope."

"No they did to the perils of the land. I am aware there are lands outside of Barovia but I have never traveled to them and do not know any outside of the rare Vistani visitor to the tavern." Ismark explained.
By now the sun has nearly set and the night shall soon be upon the land of Barovia.
”Night approaches...let us hope we fare better than previous visitors. I will go to an upstairs window and keep watch for now,” Errol says to the others. He heads up to a corner on the second floor where he can look out windows from two directions and watch for enemies (passive Perception 21). Pulling up a chair, he prepares for a long night.

Falzaren will focus on barricading the doors with whatever furniture is available, "Could someone give me a hand with this?"

Falzaren will move over to one of the pieces of furniture, “Belmarm, give me a hand with this, would you?”
Seeing you struggle with the furniture and having all questiones answered for the moment, Nadariel givesyou a hand.

Falzaren settles into a comfortable couch, “Wake me when they come,” and settles into a light nap.
Once the sun sets, you notice that Ismark draws his sword and sends Ireena into a room that has no time way for anyone to get in from the outside.
