"Agreed." Azure chimes in. He held the vial of slime carefully in his hand and pulled out a cloth to wrap it safely in then stowed it securely in his bag.
"There's no question, Bog and his kobold friends are without a doubt being controlled by some kind of possessive magic. My thought is that this definitely has something to do with that tall man we encountered last night, but I don't know how this all connects. It's beyond even my understanding of the arcane arts, and frankly, it's a little unsettling."
"But yes, let's go check out the area where Oscar has been fishing, and then we should plan to go try and retrieve the other two ingredients that Mucor had indicated he needed to brew up a cure."
As the heavily infected and disfigured kobolds disappear into the small tunnels behind them, the group is left in the darkness (Does Azure still have light cast on his shield?) The only creature capable of following behind the kobolds would be mith, and since they seemingly split up between three tunnels, he would have to decide which one he wanted to enter. Deciding against following them through the pipes, the group turns and heads back the way they came as water flows around their feet and ankles until they are able to get back to the larger main tunnel. Once they they make their way towards the ever increasingly bright light. they reach the end of the line and an old battered iron grate. You all are forced to shield your eyes as you reach the end of the tunnel as the sunlight assaults your eyes that have been used to the darkness. The grate is bent and broken... no longer serving any real purpose as you all manage to slip past it. From your current location, you all realize that you are not that far outside of town. Squinting hard, you think you can make out the silhouette of Oscar's boat shop to the west of your location. You all would be able to tell that you are northeast of town, on the edge of Skull stone swamp. The coast of the swamp here is overgrown and the sounds of crickets and insects buzzing around you is surprisingly loud. The long grass sways back and forth in the breeze as dragonflies zip across the surface of the murky water. Some sections of tall grass seem to have been trampled nearby from people or animals making their way along the shore and to and from the sewer pipe. There are many tall weeping willow trees sprouting from the water and the waters edge that try to block out the bright sunlight but all of the trees nearby seem to be dead, with no leaves offering protection from the suns rays.

Azure breathed deeply and quietly. He was just glad to be out of the sewers alive. So many thoughts ran through his head but one thing kept coming back to him, "Beat the mayor at his own game." What does that even mean, he thought.
Answering Norge, Bey adds, "The swamp may not be a bed of roses, but at least we're back outside under the open air again. I don't like being cooped up in such tight confines."
"I do wonder what Bog meant, though. There seems to be more to this plague than meets the eye. And what possibly could the mayor have to do with any of this. At the very least, we need to find those other two ingredients. Mucor specified Deathcap mushrooms, which he said could be found in the lizard folk territory of Skull's Stone, and Timmask, also known as Devil's Mushroom, which grows in the Moonglow Forest."
"Once we find and deliver those two fungi to Mucor, in addition to the Glowing Goo that we just collected, we can start thinking more about who's behind this, if indeed there is someone at the root of this strange plague. I shudder to think that this sickness might not be a natural disease, but perhaps created and spread by someone for some unknown and quite possibly evil purpose."
As the group takes a breath if fresh air and looks around and discuss their next move, Norge and jakob notice that among the dead reeds and wilting lilypads, there are a few large logs floating slowly towards the group. Norge notices as one of the logs seemingly blinks before sinking just below the murky water. Jakob notices ripples in the otherwise very calm water as the log-like creatures dfit closer and closer. Norge continues to scan the surface OS the water and notices something sticking out of the water just below the surface of the water under the small sludge waterfall where the sewer tunnel meets the swamp.
ooc: there are three large crocodiles around 20ft away from the group. two are floating at the surface and once is approaching from under water. The sewer pipe you emerged from sits about six inches above the surface of the water with difficult terrain along the shore of the swamp on either side due to the tall grass and mud.
"Back up, everyone. There are three crocodiles swimming our way." Jakob puts his arms out and tries to back up while encouraging the others to do the same.

Azure pulls out his mace and moves back from the tunnel to allow the group room to retreat. At the same time he looks behind them to ensure they have an open rear flank using the light from his shield to light the area as he slowly pans across the area.
Azure doesn't see any threats approaching from inside the tunnel or from behind them on the bank of the swamp. He does notice something shimmer under the cloudy dirty water at the base of the sewer tunnel.
Yes it is, and most of the plants growing in the immediate area seem to be dead or dying... but only recently as some of the dead trees still have some of their leaves.
As Azure clears the water around the object.. he can see what appears to be a crate full of glass jars partially sunken into the muck under the water. As he reaches down to pull the small crate out of the water, the crocodiles move in closer...

"All right," Jakob says. "Let's quickly check out the pipe near where Oscar has been catching his fish."

"Sounds good to me." Mith says leading the way.

Azure doesn't see any threats approaching from inside the tunnel or from behind them on the bank of the swamp. He does notice something shimmer under the cloudy dirty water at the base of the sewer tunnel.
OOC: So, I'm assuming the dirty water we've been walking beside/slogging through is emptying out of the pipe into the swamp. Is that right?
Azure will use Shape Water to make the water clear around the shiny object and reach/slide into the water to grab it.
Yes it is, and most of the plants growing in the immediate area seem to be dead or dying... but only recently as some of the dead trees still have some of their leaves.
Mith, keeping his swords sheathed, readies his crossbow and keeps an eye on the crocodiles while Azure tries to retrieve something from the water.
