"Maybe you and I go in and talk with them first?" Jakob says to Mith, strapping on his shield. "Just the two of us. If there's trouble ... well, what do we do if there's trouble? Is this their, er, your land down here? Who's right is it to the stuff?"
Mith looks up to Jakob. "Yeah let's do that. We can talk to them, I might even know them. Kobold's are kinda a tight pack 'round here. Let's see what they are up to and what they might know."
With Jakob at his side, Mith moves towards the group that is collecting the stuff and then calls out in Draconic "Hey there! What y'all up to today? Find anything good in these tunnels here?"
As Mith approaches the kobolds they continue to scrape and collect the glowing slime into jars and water skins. It is an awkward few seconds as it seems like they are ignoring you. Their movements are sluggish as they shuffle around the room. At the farthest point from the group, Mith and Jakob spot Bog standing among the working kobolds. After what feels like an eternity of waiting with only the sound of scraping stone and falling water answering you.. the entire group of kobolds stops moving and locks their focus on the man and kobold. Although the dark vision and dim glow of the mold do not provide a very good look at the group kobolds, it is still very apparent they they are heavily infected. Most of their scales are gone... replaced with thick scabs and fur like mold. Their eyes are yellow and bulging as the glare emotionless towards the group. In an instant the eight kobolds open their mouths as though to speak but only Bog actually makes a sound. "Ah! It is good to see you again. I think you all should leave... don't worry about the plague... I will take care of it.. and the mayor. I do wish you hadn't interfered last night... you may have taken away my opportunity but you did provide me with something else... I think she will be most useful." The kobold would say before stepping forward towards the group. As she does, the other seven do as well. Mith notices that the two of them are being boxed in while Jakob spots something unsettling about the kobolds heads... The eyes are no longer I side the skulls of the kobolds but are pushed out a bit on tiny stalks like yellow mushrooms... and the infected kobolds are not wearing hats but have large pulsating fungal growths bulging from the tops of their heads. "This is your last chance to leave..." bog says in a monotone voice as the other seven kobolds mouth the words silently.
ooc: If this was a tactical map, the kobolds are making a semi circle around the two of you with a 5 ft empty square between you and them. they are in front of you and beside you but there are none behind you
Jakob takes a deep breath, and lets it out, trying to not let the grotesque visages turn his stomach. Looking at Bog, the old man asks, "What, exactly, is your plan?"

Bey stands next to Azure, slightly behind Norge and Jakob, listening to the exchange with heightened concern, while gasping at the sight of the sickly, diseased kobolds. Also turning to Bog, she says with as much intimidation as she can muster right now, letting a faint glow begin to light up her eyes.
"I do not like your tone, kobold. Do not threaten us with an ultimatum, for we are only trying to help. Tell your people to back off... NOW."

Bey then uses her telepathic ability to communicate with Bog, speaking in calm, but very cold words, and occasionally slipping into the Infernal tongue to add to the level of fear she's trying to impart. "Bog my friend, this will end badly, and you will experience pain that is far worse than any disease if you your fellow kobolds do not move away from us. We mean you no harm, but we will certainly deliver it if you provoke us."
Azure tenses and plants his feet in the ground as best he can and slowly raise his shield while reaching for his mace. In the brief silence between the exchange of words he offers up a quick prayer and his grip tightens.

Azure will hold Word of Radiance for the first enemy that comes into range.

Norge pulls out his mace and shield as soon as he detects a change in the kobolds' stances. "Listen, I don't know what is going on but you better have a good answer for my friend here." Norge motions to Jakob with his mace. "I don't take kindly to threats towards myself or my friends."
As Jakob asks about a plan, Bog draws a shortsword from her belt. The kobold wears a loose chain shirt that rattles through the stone cavern. "Well now... my plan is simple.. " As she speaks, the other kobolds mouth the same words without making a sound. they each draw draggers or clubs but do not move from their spots. "I simply plan to beat the mayor at his own game... in my own way." She says before turning and looking to Bey. As the half elf demands that the kobolds back off, her voice booms in the small cavern... sending goosebumps through the arms of her companions. The kobolds however seem unphased.

"Give us the cure and you can have the mayor. Save the town and be heralded as thesavior and confront the mayor... but save the people." Azure blurts out thinking of Mucor, Gwen, his mother and all the others who are sick. Fear and anger have gripped him and the two competing emotions cause Azure's lip to quiver. "If we die here, all those we are charged with saving die. If there's a personal score to settle between Bog and the Mayor, let them handle it by themselves. We are supposed to protect the townsfolk." he mutters to the group.

Bey listens to Bog’s answer, and then, keeping her stance facing the kobold, she briefly shifts her gaze to Jakob.
(Bey then communicates telepathically to Jakob)
“Something is very wrong here. I just looked into Bog’s mind, and it seems as if his thoughts and words are being controlled by someone else. Killing these kobolds, even if they attack, won’t solve anything, we should back away until we can figure out what’s going on.)
She then answers Bog while taking a step back. “Ok, my friend, we will leave, but can we first collect some of the green slime mold first? We can both work on a cure, and as Azure speaks, you can have all of the glory. Our concern is not the mayor, it's making sure that everyone is healed, including yourself and all of your friends. We do not want to you suffer any more than we went to see mothers and shop owners suffer either. So please, may we have some of the mold?"
As Bey's words fill Jakob's mind, he quickly glances back at her, thinking she's speaking audibly. But then her still lips and the words she is sending connect, and he raises his eyebrows at her before slowly turning back around to face Bog. "Yes," the old man says, raising his free hand to show the kobolds his empty palm in a gesture of trust. "If we can have some of the glowing mold, we will leave you to your gathering."
Mith watches and as the group starts to encircle them he draws his scimitars. Catching the tone of the others and the strange looks of the kobolds here realizes they may not even be kobolds anymore.
Mith takes a single step back showing his intention to leave when Bey mentions leaving.
"C'mon Bog, yo know me, it's Mith. Help us out here. "
Norge was prepared for a fight but senses that the others want to take a more peaceful approach. He still isn't convinced that Bog is going to cooperate and maintains a battle ready stance, "So, what's it going to be, Bog?"

Does Jakob see the one that was bigger than the kobolds?
"I'm really not sure. It's been quite a while since I spent anytime down here. " Mith answers to the question of the goo moss.
Jakob does not see the tall figure that was with the kobolds earlier

Anyone with dark vision looking into the room can see that the kobolds look like they are wearing funny hats.

Walking in with Mith, Jakob adopts an air of casualness — an easy smile on his lips — while looking around the room after they enter.
