Leaving Norge at the Muck and Maggots, Bey turns and makes the short walk back to the Culler house, wishing right now that she had taken the time to learn that spell which allows you to instantaneously clean a solid object. When she arrives at the cabin, she goes to her room to grab a clean white tunic and her long, burgundy skirt, then goes back outside to fetch the bucket out back so she can change clothes, scrub some of the mud and slime from her body and then soak her soiled garments.
She takes a few minutes to greet Mrs. Culler and tell her that she and her friends have made some headway towards discovering a curse for the plague. Then, leaving her long hair down to dry, she walks back up to the inn to meet the others, feeling clean and refreshed.
"Agreed. See you all soon." Azure replies before rushing off to his home. He had never been bothered by smells, perhaps it was his natural ability to breathe water. Perhaps he can just become accustomed to the foul and stagnant smells of the swamp. Either way, he was sure to be respectful and clean himself up to be as his mom liked to say, "Presentable". He'll sprint home and rush in heading straight to his room where he strips and slides into his water filled tub of a bed. Then he'll take a few minutes to clean himself with Shape Water making sure to get behind his ears before grabbing his armor and cleaning it as well pausing occasionally as his stomach rumbled in hunger. He'll grab a new clean pair of clothes and rush back to the Muck and Maggots.
If he's the first to arrive he'll find a secluded table and order a bit of food. If not, he'll join his friends and order some food.
Norge is the first to arrive back to the Much and Maggots and heads to his room. the few patrons in the inn give him a strange look from their seats as the filth covered fighter makes his way up to his room. His Armor squishes a bit and a few brown footprints stick to the otherwise very clean floors of the inn. Once up to his room he turns the nob on the tub and a rune glows red on the faucet as hot water begins to pour out. Once Norge has washed away the filth and spores from his body and armor he gets dressed once again and heads downstairs. As he heads downstairs he sees Azure getting a table and placing an order with Worm before the goblin hurries off to fix the meal...
Azure heads home and surprisingly sees his mother helping his father at the forge. If it weren't for the dark veins on her hands and discoloration in her eyes, you wouldn't know she was sick at all. She has a cloth covering her nose and mouth but when she sees you walk through the door her eyes let you know that she is smiling underneath. The eyes also let you know that the smile is short lived as she gets a better look at the filth covering your close and the smell hits her nostrils. "I hope whatever you were doing was worth... well... all of that." She says as she gestures to the stinking muck hanging from your clothes and armor. Your father pauses and looks up from his anvil and gives a chuckle. "Don't let yer armor rust" He would add before getting back to work. Once Azure finishes getting cleaned up, he heads to the inn and sees the beer-bot scrubbing some brown footprints off of the floor that look very much like they belong Norge. Sitting at a table in the corner near the window, Worm approaches and looks you up and down. "Well you look and smell a lot better than ya friend did" before offering to get you some beers and the special. he would then take your order before heading beck to the kitchen.
Bey makes her way back to the cottage and sees Mrs. Culler working in her garden. The old woman smiles and upon seeing the state of your clothes she shakes her head and grins. As you go get out a new pair of clothes, you notice that Mrs. Culler has already begun preparing you a bath. The water is a bit cold but is effective in cleaning the remnants of the sewer from your skin. "don't worry about those I will get them dear." She would say as she scoops up your soiled clothes. When you tell her about the progress you are making with the case she just smiles and offers you a cookie. "I knew you would figure it out! You'll have this town fixed in no time!" she would say before turning around to Bey's dirty clothes. As Bey makes her way back into town and into the Muck and Maggots, she spots Azure sitting at a table as a cleaned up Norge descends the stairs. The beer bot that was delivered earlier is finishing up moping a section of floor and has moved back behind the kitchen where Worm seems to be working on getting some food prepared.
Mith is able to climb up the rope behind the cat and pull himself over the stone wall of the well. Once out of the well he crouches down next to the cat as it scans the house and sniffs the air. Jakob spots a shadowy figure move behind a dirty window as a stinking smell fills his nostrils. Mith thinks for a second that perhaps Ja-kat has a hairball as the small cat seemingly gags and chokes on the stinking air. a moment later Mith's face scrunches up as notices the smell as well and is reminded of the smell of the infected livestock. The smell is faint but unmistakable to the kobold. Jakob is also reminded of the stinking stamped as he shakes off the smell. At a first glance the house looks to have been very expensive at one time but has fallen into disrepair. Although it looks abandoned, Jakob and Mith are able to both spot trampled grass and foliage near the shut front door of the house that would indicate that someone has been inside recently.
If the way is clear, kitty Jakob stealthily crawls over to the house to walk around it to check out the perimeter and listen to anything he can hear inside.

The road is visible from the front of the house but it is a ways off... probably sits about 100 yards from the road with an old overgrown dirt road that leads to the front of the house and ends at a dilapidated stables behind the dirty mansion.

The smell gets stronger as Jakob approaches the house to the point where he wishes his nose wasn't so sensative. As he moves around the building he doesn't see anyone outside but does hear some muffled voices inside. As he moves around the building he spots three enterences to the house. The front door, back door, and a heavy set of doors that seemingly lead below the house. The set of doors leading under the house is locked with a surprisingly new lock.
honestly the stink coming from the house is preventing your nose from providing any additional information. the shadow moving behind the dirty window was something that most people wouldnt have seen. you know that it was taller than bog though.
Azure will allow himself to relax a bit as he sees Bey enter and will casually wave her over. By causally he waves him arms in wide sweeping motions and stands to his feet happily. He'll repeat the gesture as he watches Norge descend the stairs. Once they're all seated he'd whisper, "How do you think Mith and Jakob are doing? Should we have stayed with them?" his stomach would rumble again and he'd look longingly back to the kitchen then turn back and attempt to quickly change subject back to the mission. "We got the glowing slime, we just need the two mushrooms. Hopefully they're a bit easier to find and gather." he adds eagerly awaiting his food.

Mith is able to easily sneak along behind the cat as they circle the old building. Making their way to the stables, you quickly realize it is in worse shape inside than outside. Looking through the dilapidated open doors, you can see that part of the roof has collapsed and the only animals that have been living in here are rats and other wild animals. Light pierces through the holes in the roof and illuminates moss covered wooden beams and piles of moldy straw and hay. The pens that at one time may have held horses or cows are open and unlocked. As you make your way inside you hear a faint buzzing sound that seems to grow louder as you make your way further into the stables. Old rusted tools such as pitch forks and scythes hang on the walls while the dirt floor is covered with mouse droppings and leaves that had blown in through the open doors. There is however on the ground a noticeable path of sorts that leads from the doors of the stable back to the far stall. The leaves and dirt look as though something had been dragged through here recently and as you continue towards the back of the stables you notice the buzzing getting louder.

As she enters the inn, Bey smiles, feeling a brief flutter of happiness and comfort as she sees Azure wave her over and she watches Norge descend the stairs, all cleaned up, with his armor reflecting bright glints of polished shine.
It’s been awhile since she felt the companionship of having friends like this. In fact, she couldn’t ever remember having this kind of camaraderie with anyone else, at least not in recent memory. During the past decade, she’d run with a few different folks, that is, between her long bouts of solitude, but there was never this kind of trust and and equal fellowship , especially like what’s she felt with these two.
Sure, Mith was certainly a trustworthy and capable kobold, and one she she knew who would have her back; they all would. Especially Jakob, he was as honorable as they come, but she felt a certain comfortable kinship with Azure and Norge that always seemed to put her at ease, and made her feel whole. For some reason, being around them usually quelled her pain, as if they both possessed a certain immunity to it, whereas being around Jakob made her feel more vulnerable.
These two people actually made her smile and it made her feel whole and wholesome to be around them. The innocence of their good nature, or at least their perceived sense of innocence, seemed to break right through her shell as if it wasn’t even there, and while that could very easily pur her on edge, for whatever reason, it didn’t. It actually made her forget that she even had one.
She still wasn’t comfortable sharing everything with them... Bey still kept all the details to herself, locked away, as fuel for her fury whenever it was needed. Of course, Norge and Azure had to know that there was something very dark locked in there... how could they not? But they never pressed her about it, they just acted like... like friends who cared, and they treated her like the person she wanted to be... who she once was, before...
Almost skipping over to to join them at the table, she remarks on how much better everyone smells, and answers Azure about the others.
”Oh, I think they’ll be fine without us. Mith is capable enough, and he certainly knows his way around the less-traveled areas around this town. And Jorge is stronger and more powerful than he looks. He hides it well.”
“And yes... one ingredient found, two more to go, although I fear that heading into Skull Stone and the MoonGlow Forest will prove to be much more challenging that our local sewers. We should be prepared to encounter dangers that are much worse than corrupted kobolds.”
Azure grows a bit paler and takes a deep breath before shifting the focus back to food. "Well then we best eat up for energy." he says nervously and hunches slightly preferring not to speak or think of the coming danger as his stomach growled again.
As Mith and Jakob look around, Mith believes that this MIGHT be the the abandoned home that belonged to the original founder of Darkwater. You have never been but had heard stories of a once nice looking place that was left to rot after the founder died many years ago... you also know that the house lies down the old road where the stampede came from just the other night... The cat and the kobold continue to push towards the back of the stables as the source of the buzzing becomes apparent. Hundreds... no... thousands of flies... swarming and buzzing around around a pile of animal corpses. It is difficult to tell what types of animals at first due to the thick covering of fungus and flies. The carcasses are all split open and seemingly hollow... replaced with a black jelly-like substance and large mushrooms that reach upwards out of the corpses like black bloated fingers with bulging green orbs on the ends. The black and green mushroom stalks tremble and turn ever-so-slightly towards your direction as you both struggle against he overpowering stench of the scene before you....

As Azure, Bey, and Norge discuss their findings and their future plans, the brand new keg robotapproaches the table with a tray of food in one hand and a tray of empty mugs in the other. After setting down the trey of chicken, cheese, and potatoes, he would begin filling each of the mugs with cold ale from the tap between his legs. The ale is poured perfectly with nearly no foam on top as frost immediately begins to form on the exterior of the glass. The drink is incredibly cold... so cold you are sure that magic was involved as the robot nods and moves back through the inn and behind the counter.
