Ramious stands there, his large leathery wings stretch out from his back. He looks to Leon, "We have rope, we're hero's. If we must we can climb. However, if you'd like to try the way through this underneath place....assuming we still have some blood of that first creature we killed there, and a flower, we can try it."

(Technically, hydra is still a monster and the flowers growing at the entrance to the cave. But if Ramious wants to fly around a bit - he sure can do it)
It was a good guess on Ramious part. Owl glided lower, took a bit left, disappearing from the view, and through his eyes Leon suddenly saw the Crabapple Valley - way down there, behind the mountain the group was staying.
There is some sort of a ledge going around the mountain and leading to the much less steep side which would allow safely walk down to the Valley. Humanoid could stand on the ledge and walk with care, the only problem - it's about 100-150 yards lower then the cave entrance.
All the same, let's take it slowly." Leon suggests. He would start looking for something to anchor a rope to, so they can lower down to the ledge below.
(Ramious did not joke about the heroes - hundreds and hundreds of meters to the ground, vertical wall, zero experience in mountain climbing, no wings (unlike certain member of the party), yet everyone bravely going to perform free solo climbing!)
There is nothing to tie the rope to, not without at least improvised climbing gear (at least something passing for pitons and a climbing hammer). And there is one interesting problem with Mold Earth - 30ft range. Would be a trick to stay close.
Leon pulls pitons and a hammer from his pack. "I have the equipment, but I still am not sold this is the best plan." Leon says with a grimace.
"If we do move forward with this, I suggest you all stay fairly close to me." He advises the others. "I can possibly save us from certain death by making us fall more slowly." He meets everyone's eyes. "This can only be done a bit, and it depends on how far it is to the ground if I can get us there safely once we fall though."
Ramious looks to the group, "If you need me to flap over anywhere to tie ropes or what not let me know. Otherwise, if you guys are feeling ok with this, then I'll keep a close eye in case spells fail or something weird."
Ramious stays clear of the ropes and pitons, careful not to mess with their climbing gear. He flies from ledge to ledge, and otherwise tries to help the group fasten or unfasten ropes as they go.

Ramious gives a lazy mocking salute, "Ya'us sir. I was put on this green earth to serve sir! I will perform my duty to the best of my ability, sir!" He smiles a lopsided smile, "The army is a crazy place. I all recommend you avoid it at all costs."
Ramious goes about collecting pitons as needed.

What's the difference between a Wizard and a Sorcerer? Class.
Ramious help, well placed pitons, magic and more experienced moves than one could expect, made the shortcut is far less dangerous than it looked at the first glance. The ledge was ... manageable and soon enough the company was on it's merry way to the heart of the Valley - Sir Tristan's castle.
It would be closer to evening when you finally reach it but all the way down you could enjoy the spectacular view of the whole valley - full of blooming flowers and pink clouds of orchards, with a fairytail pretty castle in the middle of it all. The sweet welcoming smell of crabapples and fresh grass, and the air getting warmer as you descended - everything was tenderly whispering "the end of the nightmarish journey, rest and rejoice!".
Leon felt good as well. He had accomplished something good, and would have some money to continue his work at searching out lost silver swords or mind flayer plots. He had also found some companions he respected and valued, which surprised him more than a bit.
Alyssa would bounce in glee when their feet finally touch the safety of the ground. She'd sneak a quick hug to each person in the group before skipping on and off the road to smell some flowers along their way back. The young elf felt accomplished and ready to return to the castle, and then to the guild with an adventurous tale.
(Cinder would have contributed her pitons and rope to this endeavour, had she been paying any attention to it, LOL. Sorry guys!)
Climbing carefully down with the rest of the group, Cinder spends the entire time muttering under her breath about "facking air genasi"until her feet touch the ground. As soon as she reached it, she would spint around, laugh, and fall backwards into the fragrant grass, inhaling deeply. "Now this is the life!" she says to the others. A smug grin touches her face; and now I have something to negotiate a better position with in the Trading company. The beginnings of a reputation!
She smiles at the others and gets up when they make to leave, deeply satisfied with the team's performance.
The group was expected. There were no red carpet from the castle to the end of the gardens, but Sir Tristan himself welcomed heroes inside. "The official banquet will be later today - when you rest a bit, but please tell me about everything!" The guests were escorted into the Old Library (judging by number of personal things, Sir Tristan's favorite room). There already was a guest in there - a wizard (the man in a robe with the long silver beard simply could not be anyone else).
"Callion Evondil," the wizard slightly tilted his head, "was not here to great you firs time you came, but hope to help you to return. Now, can we see the heads?"
(providing, the party returned bags with the heads) Callion took one out and and studied it a bit, while a table with unavoidable cider and fresh food was prepared for tired adventurers. "An incredible specimen!" concluded wizard his research. "I'll deal with it later." Sir Tristan enthusiastically nodded: "Will look incredible in the throne room! And you are saying the monster was actually living not far from here?! We were incredibly lucky to get such a competent group of hunters!"
The story of the hunt - and I dare to hope adventurers did not refuse to satisfy Sir Tristan curiosity - was listened most intently, and interrupted only by loud "aah" and approving whistle.
Then there was some rest - every guest got a room, where each found a pouch with promised 100 golds in it. The the banquet - very ceremonious by Crabapple Valley standards but doable even for shy Alyssa and unlikely used to it Ramious (never confused Cinder and stoical Leon did not suffer a bit). The old wizard asked if the group would not mind to leave Winter's Bite in the Valley, promising as a compensation something equal in quality (+1 weapon of choice). Obviously, the story had to be repeated - many, many times, by the end of the celebration the heroes would probably not recognize it, but the crowd seemed to enjoy it even more.
The guests were begged to stay at least a night in the castle, though should they be for whatever reason in a hurry - the wizard would teleport anyone to the place that one wished. Obviously, the Guild would get the report and the group - recommendations from their first employer.
Wherever the roads were to bring adventurers in the future, this story - the first of many! - will be remembered by many, promising to become a legend of Crabapple Valley.
