Rushleads the group back to the door in the northeast corner of the hallway. It leads into another hallway. The earthquake caused part of this empty hall to collapse. A double door in the west wall leads to a small stone balcony overlooking the mustering hall that you all fought in at the beginning. In the middle of the room, you see two dwarves kicking dead ghouls and whispering to each other. You can't really make out what they're saying, but you can tell that they can't believe what they're seeing.
At the top of the balcony after Rush yells out to them, they look up, astonished. The slightly larger, older looking dwarf says, "Aye. I would hate to be on the receiving end of one of these misunderstandings." He gestures towards the dead bodies.
"I don't know who ye are, but know that we're grateful for what ye did hear. We were stuck in a closet, hiding for our lives, trying to keep ourselves away from that banshee. But, I felt her life leave this place. Well, my name is Ghelryn Foehammer. I'm a blacksmith. My friend, here, and I were here seeing whether or not it was safe to bring our people back. Now that ye've cleared her out, this fortress can be our home once again. Thank ye for that. Come on down here, if ye will, so we can get an proper introduction."
After a brief moment, he quickly adds, "Oh! Wait. While ye're up there, did ye happen to make it into Castellan's bedchamber? Rumor has it there's a chest hidden in there. I feel like ye've earned the chance to find it, at the least."
"Det is very kind of you friend, and den heartens me to know not all of vhat vanders de halls are død." Andrømeda calls down to them, before turning to the others. "Shall vi see if vi can find vhat he spoke of?"

If you think my puns are bad, I'll remind you, my profile pic says otherwise.
For the sake of time, we'll "montage" this portion. You go back to the only three doors left in the upstairs area that you haven't opened, yet. The first door is the one all the way at the end of the hallway. Rusty chain mail curtains conceal a pair of privies, each with a wooden bench set against the back wall. The chutes for these privies appear to descend deep into the mountain.
Then, the next door you check is the room closest to the privies. A stone-framed bed with a moldy mattress stands in the middle of this room, covered in dust and cobwebs. Set into the south wall is a soot-stained fireplace. Considering the fact that this looks to be a bedchamber, you all look around, using Investigation (with advantage since you know something is here) for something that looks like a chest:
Andrømeda: 18
Kwisatz: 27
Rush: 21
Sael: 22
Andrømedaand Rushdon't see anything. They are looking specifically for something that would resemble the description of a "chest", but Kwisatzand Sael, almost by accident, notice dwarven hand prints in the soot on the back wall inside of the fireplace. Extremely curious as to why there would be hand prints back there, Kwisatzwalks up and places his hands inside of the same prints to try and figure out what the dwarves might have been doing. He realizes that with his hands in the position, he feels like he should push. So he does and the wall moves back, rotating and grinding on stone hinges, revealing a hidden room.
Against the south wall of this otherwise empty room rests a 80-pound iron chest with clawed feet. Its built-in lock bears a tiny circular indentation instead of a traditional keyhole. Close inspection of the indentation reveals a tiny symbol of a handaxe clutched in a gauntlet. This symbol matches the one on the castellan’s signet ring that Rushpicked up, albeit reversed.
Rush gives the ring to Kwiz, and Kwiz uses it on the chest, opening it up. Inside, Kwiz finds a Dread Helm (does not need to be attuned), and a pair of gauntlets of ogre power (must be attuned).
Right around this time, you all hear the sounds of footsteps heading for you and after a few moments, Ghelryn Foehammer walks in. "Oi, so ye found it. Fantastic. You're welcome to keep it. Seeing as ye made it possible for me an' my kin to move back in here, once I let 'em know the fortress is empty, I wanted to do one other thing for ye. If each of ye give me a weapon, I'll imbue 'em with a little bit of dwarven smithin' magic. It'll take me a few days, if yer interested."
Andrømeda looks at the gloves with interest for a moment before turning to the Dwarves and listening to the offer Ghelryn makes. Taking a few moments to think about it, she looks to the others, "Vould du all be villing to stay long enough for him to do de vork?"

During the montage Kwisatz would like to ask if they've had any dragon sightings, as well as to warn them to be aware... though they clearly have their own problems. He'd also like to ask about the banshee, and if the Dwarves have any idea of from where, or why she came to attack here.
((Rush found a signet ring on one of the ghouls, earlier. That ring ended up being the key to the chest.))
"We've heard about the beastie, but we haven't seen it, ourselves, thank the gods," Ghelryn days in response to Kwisatz's question. "As for the banshee, all we have at this point it's folklore. The elders might know, but mostly parents just use the banshee as a story to keep their wee kids in line."
"As far as the weapons, if ye give me three days, and I'll even use the forges here in the fortress. While I work, ye could help us clean up the mess ye made." Ghelryn smiles and laughs slightly as he says that. "But, I think it's only fitting that the heroes of Axeholm should be the first to benefit from her forges."
"Am vould like to take du up on det, if meg friends are villing." Andrømeda says, holding her greataxe up. "Meg hilds, my mothers øks. Den means de vorld to me, but it has seen many slags. If du vould could make den sterkere, stronger, Am vould be too grateful for vords."

"It would be my pleasure, my large friend. So long as ye're not related to giants, that is..." Ghelryn looks like he's noticing your size for the first time. You can tell he's not a fan of giants.
“I don’t make use of weapons much...” Kwisatz says “But I can still appreciate fine craftsmanship. I wouldn’t mind adding an expertly crafted dagger to my collection.”
“Ya,” Rush mimics Andromeda’s accent poorly

Kwisatz is aghast at the whirlwind his friend turned into. Chuckling at Rush’s imitation, and glad for the bit of humor, he follows along.

Rush moves to the room and calls out. “Any survivors, make yourself known, please. We don’t want to hurt anyone over a misunderstanding.”
