Umbriel's years of service to the Raven Queen weigh heavily on his mind as he stands, oblivious to the dampness and focused on Lyngheid. "Agreed, her passing was not natural, and we need to ensure whatever we can to help her transition. Perhaps there is a temple of an elven deity in town that can assist?"
Lyngheid looked rather refreshed from her surprisingly enjoyable swim....not to mention a certain other member of their group was definitely carrying off the wet hair look extremely well...she began trotting up the path.
It isn't too long up the path before you climb up out of the fog, off the beach, hills, and cliffs and level out a couple hundred feet above sea level. 100 yards further inland you can see the path intersects with a well traveled road that you surmise must be the High Road running North and South.
With your passive perceptions, you don't see any travelers. The last light of the evening is fading from the sky. What now?
"We should build a fire, we need to get dry." Umbriel summons his staff and gestures toward a spot a little ways off the road, in the lee of a hill. "There would be good, do you agree?"
Baeshra gives one of his signature reptilian shrugs, "Silly mammals and their wet fur. But if we're making a fire, maybe get off the hilltop towards the landward side, so the giants won't see us if they come ashore and we can get you out of the wind, yes?"
Baeshra gives one of his signature reptilian shrugs, "Silly mammals and their wet fur. But if we're making a fire, maybe get off the hilltop towards the landward side, so the giants won't see us if they come ashore and we can get you out of the wind, yes?"
" Smart and seaworthy. thats our Baeshra."
Lyngheid looks around for a hollow or dip in the lee of a hill to make camp in.
Yes, there is a small dip in a copse of trees not far from the High Road. You are able to setup a fire, and start it magically. The watches are rotated through and morning comes, another Long Rest completed successfully.
Morning comes, and it's colder than normal, but the remaining coals from last night's fire are quickly fanned into flames, and a warm breakfast helps wake everyone up.
Where to now, North or South along the High Road? Or something else entirely?
As they pack up after breakfast, Baeshra ritually casts Commune with Nature looking for buildings, terrain, and influence from other planes of existence.
"Well, we had discussed returning to Port Llast to take care of Ireniana, so if we can determine which direction to head, that may be a start. We are still no closer to figuring out the gambling chip clue, nor the identities of Hekaton's abductors, but hopefully we've given the Frost giant raiders second thoughts about returning."
Umbriel stretches, and turns to Droop. "What do you think, my friend?"

While the others pack up, Baeshra takes a minute to focus on the area around him and cast his spell. Baeshra, you don't sense any influence from other planes of existence, nor any buildings within 3 miles of you. But you do get a sense from the nearby terrain that the town is to the south.
Baeshra Survival: 24 Perception: 25
" We need to get back there. We didn't get a chance to have Irenianas body put into proper repose..."
You aren't sure, but you think you may be north of Port LLast. You do see a trail leading away from the beach up through some cliffs and hills.

Baeshra shifts back into his normal form, shrugs and starts up the path, "Maybe we'll get a better look from up there?"

" As a good a spot as any.", Lyngheid nods.
Baeshra gives one of his signature reptilian shrugs, "Silly mammals and their wet fur. But if we're making a fire, maybe get off the hilltop towards the landward side, so the giants won't see us if they come ashore and we can get you out of the wind, yes?"

" We need to prioritise what we do next. Ideas?", Lyngheid asked as they readied themselves.
Lyngheid nods, " There may well be folks in Fort Llask who can help with the chip and us seeing the giants off may make them more eager to help."
Droop agrees with Lyngheid. "Yes, back to Fort Flask!"

Baeshra lets the others know what he learned, "Head south then?"
" Lets go."
" Come along Nyx. Your hair looks fine..bit of salt'll do it a world of good."
Umbriel nods, and follows behind Baeshra, pulling Droop along, subtly trying to allow Lyngheid and Nyx to follow behind with a bit of privacy.
