Oh shoot, I missed that, sorry! Yes, you are right, the door is not open. I don't think we need to modify anything as she is not likely to make it to her next turn.

Umbriel was about to jump down and tend to Whistler, but Lyngheid got there first, so he'll hold his position atop the desk. Umbriel will grit his teeth and loose another Eldritch Blast at the stubborn fighter.

"Indeed. I have a similar ability to Lyngheid in that I can keep him from slipping into death, but I'm not much good for healing. Why don't we search the space - the wizard's attitude did not seem to me like that of a bloodthirsty brigand. I have the feeling something's not quite right. I'll check the desk, maybe one of you can check the bodies and see if they're carrying anything important."
Umbriel goes through the desk and any papers on top or in drawers. Investigation: 4
"I could do some healing if need be, but then I'm tapped out for the day, and I'm a mite concerned about what else we might find here. If he'll recover quickly on his own, I think we should take the rest time for that."
Alotta does not respond to Lyngheid's Spare the Dying attempt.
Umbriel goes through the desk and finds a number of papers and notes, mostly consisting of Glasstaff's written ordes to apothecaries and alchemists in nearby settlements for more materials for his workshop. Umbriel also finds a letter signed with the Black Spider's symbol.
"Lord Albrek,
My spies in Neverwinter tell me that strangers are due to arrive in Phandalin. They could be working for the dwarves. Capture them if you can, kill them if you must, but don’t allow them to upset our plans. See that any dwarven maps in their possession are delivered to me with haste. I’m counting on you, Iarno. Don’t disappoint me.
Lyngheid tended to Whistler, her thoughts dark. Though she knew the two were up to no good she couldn't get over the impression that she'd just broken into someone's home and murdered them.
The failure of her prayers made her wonder if the Mother took a similar view....though the prayer for Whistler had worked.
She made Whistler comfortable while the others decided what to do.
Whistler wakes up with a start, looks around, notices he is on the floor. Takes a swig of his trusty Firewater. Wishing to express thanks, he mimics nothing.

Umbriel shows the others the documents he found in the desk. Looking around at the injuries, he muses. "Maybe we should rest for an hour or so, regain some strength? If this letter is true, and Iarno was sent here to kill you," he says, looking at Baeshra, Lyngheid, and Ireniana,"then we'd best be prepared for whatever else may lurk down here."
As you look around at the others you notice a sturdy, unlocked wooden chest at the foot of the bed. Glasstaff's glass quarterstaff also catches your eye. Something looks different about Alotta's studded leather armor as well.
Lyngheid checked the two bodies removed items that may have been of interest to her companions and checked them for holy symbols or signs of devotion so as to inform what prayers she should say over them.
" We could just leave and take them with us....that will put the rest off kilter for a bit. We can have a nice rest and then come back and see if the others are more amenable to leavinf Phandelver for good.", she said with a little bit of desperate hope.
You don't find much on Glasstaff, except his staff. The slender, hollow staff is made of glass, but feels very strong, you suspect it might be magical.
Alotta has quite a few things on her:
20 gold
3 silver
8 copper
Shortsword
Longsword
Dagger
Playing Card Set
Rope (Hempen)
Handaxe
And her studded leather armor. As you check this over for holy symbols you find that it seems to be much higher quality than you were expecting, and even after that fierce battle it doesn't show signs of wear or damage.

Whistler: 20
Baeshra: 17Lyngheid: 9

Lyngheid got up on her knees and moved over to Whistler, repeating the prayer she'd said too late for the mage.
She looked up at Alotta, " Your too young to have a death wish this strong, Lass. Give it in."
OOC: Spare the Dying.
Whistler has one failed Death Save, but then Lyngheid Stabilized him. If no other healing is done, he will come back to consciousness in 1 hour(s).

Umbriel was about to jump down and tend to Whistler, but Lyngheid got there first, so he'll hold his position atop the desk. Umbriel will grit his teeth and loose another Eldritch Blast at the stubborn fighter.
Attack: 11 Damage: 13
Just as Rosie's quarterstaff whizzes past Alotta's head, Umbriel's Eldritch Blast explodes right into the fighter and Alotta collapses.
We are out of initiative! Whistler is still unconscious but stable. It's been about 35 minutes since you all first entered the manor.
What does everyone do now?
Ireniana is going to glance at Whistler. "I think we wait a little bit if we can to let our friend get back to their feet."
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
