This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ireniana will step up and use the pommel of her sword to bash the lock.

(At first I made the mistake of trying to do a strength check, but then I remembered that bashing the chest is an attack roll, hence the dice manipulation)
Whistler bangs on the clasp, but nothing appears to change. Then Ireniana takes a good whack at it and the metal crumbles, another whack and the lock drops to the floor, clasp broken.
You have to pull pretty hard on the lid, but the hinges squeak and the lid lifts in fits and starts. As the lid opens a yellow-green fog pours out of the chest and fills the room.
Everyone make a Constitution save of DC14! Fails take 23 poison damage, success takes half that damage.
Rosie Con Save: 3
Rosie drops to her knees, coughing, hacking and gasping for breath. Eventually she looks up to check on the rest of the party. She casts Cure Wounds on herself for 8. "Who is down? Everyone sound off, who needs help?!?"
Umbriel looks over the contents of the chest. "Interesting. Lyngheid, are you able to either sense any magic or identify what these potions and that amulet are?"
He then starts counting out the gold and silver, making change as necessary. Everyone gets 17 gp, 13 sp, and 3 cp, with two cp left over for Droop. "Droop! Get down here!"
"...so help me, if he's touched my horse..."
Umbriel will try to figure out what the scrolls and potions are.
You hear something dropped and then a bunch of things rolling around on the floor from above. Droop runs down the stairs. "Round shinies! Droop found round shinies!" Glancing up you can see Droop holding a half empty bag of ball bearings and looking very excited.
Rosie rushes over to Whistler and casts Cure Wounds for 9 hit points. "There you go dear!"
Rosie then turns to Umbriel and says "Hang on, I'll look for magic." She casts Detect Magic. "Oh my! Let's see here. Everything in there is magic except the coins. May I see the crossbow bolts?"
Umbriel sighs, and warns the group that they should watch their step when ascending, there may be ball bearings everywhere. He also hands the crossbow bolts to Rosie.
Droop takes the copper and jumps up and down excitedly, then puts them in his ball bearing pouch. "Thank you! Droop is helpful, yes!"
Rosie takes the bolts, "Thank you, I will study these tonight to find out what they are."
OOC:
To identify items, you can spend a short rest sitting with them and focusing just on one item.
To identify potions, you can take a smell or a small sip, note the color and texture etc and probably figure out what it is. Or use the Identify. Is there anyone in the group that can cast it?
For Scrolls, if you can cast the spell you can read the name of it.
It's now getting around 4 in the afternoon, does the party want to continue on, or camp here? If you want to camp for the night, everyone roll a Survival check with Disadvantage for foraging, and then Umbriel roll one for Navigation for the day, as well.

Baeshra will conjure up a handful of flame (produce flame), holding it in his hand to light up the room while he opens the chest.
