Umbriel looks around. The smell of the poison gas still lingers in the underground chamber, and he'd feel better with some fresh air. "It's a little early, but I think camping in the ruins above might be advisable tonight, given how much that gas took out of us. In addition, setting up camp now will give us time to concentrate on the items we found. I vote we stay here tonight, but I am flexible. And yes, Droop, you are helpful. See that you remain so."
When back above ground, he'll take the smallest sips from the potions to try and figure out what they are, and he'll attempt to read the scrolls in order to identify them (not to cast them).
Umbriel was unable to find enough food for the day and must consume rations. Rosie, Lyngeid and Baeshra are good to go.
Droop Survival Foraging: 14, and Droop is too, he found plenty of squirrels!
The party sets up camp and gets comfortable and then pass the potions around sniffing and examining them to try and figure out what they are. The first one you all recognize pretty quick, it seems like a healing potion. The next one is green and cloudy and tastes bitter. The clerics pick up on this one, it is a Potion of Resistance for poison resistance. The final one is golden and shimmers in the light. The clerics also recognize this as a Potion of Heroism.
Ireniana, after sitting with the amulet for an hour you determine it is a Dark Shard Amulet. OOC: You should also look at the Longsword that Baeshra found in the Nothic's treasure chest.
Rosie sits with the bolts for an hour and finds that they are Walloping Ammunition. "Well, these will come in handy I'm sure." she says before putting them in her belt.
Umbriel gets the scroll of Augury and gives it to Lyngheid, and gives the Raise Dead scroll to Rosie. "I may be the only one capable of using that amulet, Ireniana, but if you'd like to hang on to it, that's perfectly acceptable. What's that longsword we found earlier?"
" And none of them seem to contain ancient Netherese curses that turn your bones to glass or cause centipedes to erupt from your sinuses....which is nice."
" Well, I hope you kids all liked your presents, but we need to get a move on..."
Whistler spits up the bloody phlegm, spits on the floor and swishes his mouth with a little sip of firewater and spits it out. He nibbles on a small amount of his dried fruit and nut mix.
"Netherese?" he asks, not familiar with the new word.

Rosie takes the Potion of Heroism and the scroll of Mass Healing Word. Then says "Lyngheid, you take the Scroll of Magic Circle and Protection from Poison." "Ireniana, maybe you should take the healing potion and the potion of poison resistance. That way if Lyngheid or I get in trouble, it's not all in one spot."
Survival roll for Whistler: 18. Survival roll for Ireniana: 10.
Umbriel is the only one who needs to use a ration on day 2 of the journey.
The rest of the evening passes with people eating, warming up by the campfire, going over the scrolls and potions and passing them around. Droop plays with his ball bearings, rolling them around on the ground and chasing them.
Ireniana, you sit quietly after dinner with Talon, the Longsword from the Nothic's lair. After an hour you determine that along with the name, and the intricate bird of prey that the hilt is worked into it is a Longsword, +1.
The night settles in, and the watch order is set. Those on watch at around 1 in the morning see a bright shooting star flash across the sky, but otherwise the night passes uneventfully.
The morning passes uneventfully, everyone walking along. The ground is firming up enough that the cart doesn't get stuck as much. Umbriel thinks that you are getting closer to Thundertree, and keeps the distant treeline to his right.
Around noon the group takes a lunch break on a flat, treeless expanse. The tall grass waves in the wind, birds and insects chirp. And then everyone notices the chirping goes silent. You all hear a rustle to the east and then grunts and slobbering noises. There! Popping out of the grass, it looks like an Orc hunting party, and they are charging straight at you, Javelin's held over their shoulders ready to throw!
Everyone roll initiative. Take your turn if it is higher than the Orcs. Due to the open nature of the grasslands, the Orcs are about 90 feet away.
Rosie's dex is higher, so she will go right before the Orcs.
Rosie drops to one knee and brings her crossbow out, lining it up on the leading Orc. She will reach back and touch Ireniana saying "May the Wild Mother guide your strike!" and cast Bless. She targets Ireniana, Whistler and Umbriel with the spell (Add 1d4 to an attack roll or saving throw).
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Lyngheid's Initiative: 16
The Orcs, seeing that they have been spotted start to roar and run with all their might.
Two Orcs peel off and run straight at Whistler: Orc8, using his "Aggressive" trait can actually get within melee of Whistler. He swings his Greataxe at the little Kenku: 6, but Whistler is luckily able to get his sword in the way and deflect the blow. Orc4 gets very close and tosses one of his Javelins: 11. The ranged weapon flies straight into Whistler's shoulder, doing 9 piercing damage.
Orc1 gets a little too excited and throws his Javelin at Baeshra as soon as he sees they've been seen: 8 but it falls short and sticks into the ground about 10 feet in front of Baeshra. Orc1 runs to get as close as he can, looking a little sheepish.
Orc2 runs aggressively at Umbriel and throws his Javelin once he gets within range of the Warlock: 17. This one goes high and passes by the group harmlessly.
Orc6 follows suit and targets Baeshra: 22, but is unable to connect.
Orc7 runs up and tosses a javelin at Rosie: 20, and Rosie twists to the side, letting the Javelin fly past.
Orc5 gets as close as he can before throwing a Javelin at Baeshra: 6. It hits! And pierces into Baeshra for 8 damage.
Orc9 charges the group and let's a Javelin fly at Umbriel while he is on the run: 6. He was holding it backwards and the blunt end bounces off Umbriel.
Orc3 follows right after and sends another Javelin at Umbriel: 24, but Umbriel watches it sail past, not even coming close.

The scrolls are all different.
Baeshra, you recognize one as a Spell Scroll of Conjure Animals.
You also recognize the second as a Spell Scroll of Protection from Poison.
Lyngheid takes a look at the two remaining scrolls, one is a Spell Scroll of Mass Healing Word and the other is a Spell Scroll of Magic Circle.

(I thought we gave that sword to Ireniana? Meant to, maybe I forgot.)
Baeshra will keep the scroll of animal summoning, but pass on the rest of the scrolls and items.
Ireniana stares at the amulet for a moment as she hands Umbriel the amulet. "Baeshra, do you still have that longsword?"
