Taking care to avoid the same missteps as before, Umbriel attempts to lead the group in a more direct fashion, while keeping an eye out for other bird/bear combinations. Survival: 16
The party sets forth once again. You follow the same track for the first 30 minutes, but this time you see where you got turned around before and correct that issue.
After a quick lunch of mostly foraged berries, a squirrel or two, and Droop shot a grouse(!), the party continues on.
You have been following a small creek for the last hour and it has slowly grown to about 10 feet wide and a foot deep, when it goes over a waterfall that is about 12 feet high. It takes another half hour to get the cart down the steep trail, but you manage to do it and find yourselves at the bottom of the falls.
You notice a lightly used trail going behind the waterfall and it looks like there might be a shallow cave behind the waterfall.
On a large, wet boulder next to the entrance Baeshra sees some ancient runes. After rubbing off the moss and getting a better look at them, you recognize and old dialect of Druidic that says "Weary travelers, rejoice!"
Baeshra, Lyngheid and anyone else who follows them are surprised at the feel of the air. It is much drier than you would expect seeing as how the waterfall is right there. But the air is comfortably warm, dry and the ceiling glows with a gentle, yellow light.
The cave is a single chamber, about 40 feet in diameter. In the center is a stone statue in the shape of a tree about 4 feet tall. At the base of the tree is an empty dish and a plaque.
Baeshra, you see the same ancient Druidic writing and read:
Travelers who offer, rest well after they proffer.
Baeshra will mutter to himself in draconic for a moment, then shrug and drop one each gold, silver and copper coins into the dish before kneeling briefly before the tree.

Umbriel will wait outside with Droop and the gear, but he'll say to the goblin "Well done back there. Half of being successful when you're out in the world is trusting those you travel with. You listened to me and trusted our friends, and we did no harm, and it cost us nothing. I'm very proud of your actions. And thank you for the ball bearing."

The coins disappear in a flash and you feel a sense of calm and relaxation wash over you. When you stand up you feel refreshed and we'll rested.

" Shrine?"
Baeshra will glance over as he stands, "It seems to be an old druidic shrine. Coin will buy a weary traveler some respite."

"Many thank you! Droop is helpful! Droop trusts friends! What is other half?"Droop asks with a curious look on his face.
Umbriel looks at the little goblin, considering. "The other half of success is trusting in yourself and your abilities. You've learned quite a bit about combat from Ireniana, but you are free to forge your own destiny. Rosie and Lyngheid could teach you of the ways of their gods, Baeshra has a connection to nature that I've rarely seen equaled, and Whistler knows how to harness his rage and channel it into effective action. Why, I myself could show you pathways to greater power through patronage... But those supplications are delicate and require great sacrifice."
Umbriel gets a distant look on his face, and his voice trails off. A whinny from Pale brings him back to the conversation.
" My apologies, Droop. I'm just a very long way from where I started."

Whistler looks sad that his new best friend is leaving.

Whispering to Droop, "Do you know how much I paid for this horse? I'm not letting some natural amalgamation eat my investment!"
(and yes, Umbriel has no intention of stopping the creature)
"Oh good. I'm so glad we didn't have to hurt it. Let's get going before it comes back." Rosie watches it run off.

Droop reaches into one of his pouches, rummages around and pulls out a ball bearing. He holds it out to Umbriel. "Droop is helpful!"
By now you have realized that you led the group in a circle. Time for a new Survival for navigation for the remainder of the day!

Ireniana glances at the waterfall, remembering the owlbear before glancing back to make sure nothing followed the group.
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
You don't notice anything following you.
Baeshra reads the runes to himself before heading behind the waterfall curiously, forgetting that his new friends can’t read druidic.
Lyngheid trotted happily after Baeshra.

Whistler is still upset about his new friend to the point where he won't even have a swig of his beloved firewater.
