!!Lost Mine of Phandelver Campaign Thread!!

(sorry I was out of pocket today - didn't have access to the internet from about 7am to 7pm. - More of the same tomorrow, I'm afraid)

On his turn, Umbriel will edge up to the door and throw and Eldritch Blast at the first hostile target he sees. Attack: 21 Damage: 6

Bless: 3

Rosie gets scooped up by the Bugbear and carried along.  She tries to reach him with her quarterstaff, but misses, and then brings her Spiritual Weapon to bear, but also misses!

Nyx continues her repartee but even with Rosie's blessing of the Wild Mother is not able to connect with her Rapier or Dagger!

Whistler gets into a groove and delivers two quick strikes with his Greatsword.  King Grol is looking a little beat up now.  He's also pissed!

Umbriel pokes his head through the door and fires off a quick Eldritch Blast at HC1, who collapses onto the ground, dead!

Lyngheid managed to kill the retreating Bugbear with her mace, takes a swing at King Grol with her spiritual weapon, but misses and sends Rosie a virtual fruit basket.

Ireniana turns to King Grol and her Longsword finds a gap in his heavy Plate armor, doing quite a bit of damage.  The King is really upset now.

Baeshra attempts to take a bite out of King Grol, but misses again!

Just when things are looking up, a Hobgoblin bursts into King Grol's quarters.  He quickly sizes up the situation and heads for Whistler, swinging his Longsword: 9 + 4. Whistler's focus must have been on King Grol, because the Hobgoblin scores a hit, doing 10 + 3 slashing damage. 

BB2 drops Rosie onto the nearby table and then takes a step in between Nyx and the King, before swinging his Morningstar at Nyx as hard as he can: 15, but he misses!

Umbriel sees another Bugbear (BB3) rush up from the southern door and into King Grol's chambers.  This one wants to show his buddy how to do it, so he takes a swing at Nyx as well: 20, but the evil weapon whizzes harmlessly over her head.

Umbriel sees a final Hobgoblin Captain follow the bugbears into the room. HC2 backs into the corner giving Ireniana an Attack of Opportunity before attacking Rosie: 20 + 3.  He scores a critical hit! Doing 13 + 8 slashing damage to the battered halfing.  Seeing her still up, he attacks again! 24 + 1 and just barely manages to connect, doing 6 slashing damage.

King Grol looks around and then roars "What took you all so long?  Letting me have all the fun?  Now, I think I have one for each of you!" And he swings his Longsword at Whistler: 13 + 1 and hits for 9 slashing damage.  Then he follows through with an attack on Ireniana: 2 + 4, which hits for 11 slashing damage, and he spins around to deliver a third attack at the Giant Spider-Baeshra: 12 + 4 which just barely hits for 10 + 17 slashing damage.

Summary:
- Whistler takes 21 slashing damage (halved to 10) + 8 slashing damage (halved to 4)
- Ireniana gets an AoO on HC2 and takes 12 slashing damage. 
- Rosie takes 21 slashing damage and must make a DC10 Concentration check to maintain Bless
- Spider Baeshra takes 16 slashing damage.

 Whistler Round 7:

Whistler floods his body with adrenaline, muscles bulging to beyond their natural state as he brings his beloved Greatsword down on his mightest of foes.

"COOWWAAARRD!" he screams, spitting all over the false King.

Attack with GWM adv: Attack: 17 Damage: 20

Bonus attack: Attack: 21 Damage: 32

Whistler is literally crimson with blood pouring out of the little Kenku that could.

Things are looking grim. Umbriel steps inside the doorway and one pace to the southeast, so that he can still see BB3 through the door but he doesn't block Droop. Along the way, he'll send another Eldritch Blast through the door: Attack: Attack: 15 Damage: 5

Bless: 1

Droop darts past Umbriel at the door and takes a shot at BB3 before stepping down to clear the way.  Attack: 17, and finally misses one!

Whistler, in a furious fit attacks King Grol with his Greatsword.  His first blow bounces off the King's shield.  His second attack comes in high and manages to catch King Grol in the neck, almost severing his head.  The Hobgoblin manages to get out "But...I wasn't done!" before he collapses.  Dead.

Umbriel sends a shot at BB3, we'll need to see if Rosie's Bless is still up to see if it hits.

Lyngheid ran next to Umbriel and sent her emanation to attack the second bugbear.

" You two ok? ", She said to Droop and Umbriel.

OOC: Attack: 20 Damage: 10

The last hit drops Baeshra out of his spider form, but he just grins and shifts into his more familiar dino form and roars before attacking BB2.

Ireniana's AAO against HC2 - Attack: 19 Damage: 11

She'll attack BB3

Attack: 21 Damage: 11

Bruised and battered, but otherwise undeterred, Umbriel nods at Lyngheid. "I'm fine, but thanks. Let's just make sure there aren't any more late arrivals to the party."

OOC: I dropped Bless yesterday when I failed the con save

Rosie casts Cure Wounds on herself for 10

She swings her Spiritual Weapon over to BB1 and attempts to start beating him up with it. Attack: 11 Damage: 11

OOC: Ouch, down to 1hp!

Rosie heals herself and then gets a solid whack in on BB3 with her Spiritual Weapon.

Whistler, well, we know what he did.

Umbriel sends a Blast at BB3, that just barely misses!

Lyngheid brings her Spiritual Weapon down to bang BB2 on the head.

Ireniana: misses her AoO on HC2, but follows it up with a very solid hit on BB3.  BB3 is looking pretty rough.

Baeshra reverts to his normal form then quickly shifts to Dino-Baeshra before tearing the crap out of BB2, who is now looking like he's at Death's door.

HC2 sees King Grol go down and orders a tactical retreat.  He steps over to swing at Nyx and distract her from the Bugbears: 11. His Greatsword connects with the Satyr, doing 10 + 16 slashing damage.  He takes another attack at Rosie: 20 which misses!

HB3 takes a swing at Ireniana: 16 + 4, but it was half-hearted at best, and then he starts backing out of the room, giving Whistler and Ireniana AoO.

BB3 attacks Ireniana: 23 + 3 and connects, doing 15 piercing damage and knocking her out.  He then follows the Hobgoblin out of the room, giving Rosie and AoO on him.

BB2 Disengages and follows the other Bugbear.

Summary:
- Nyx takes 17 slashing damage
- Ireniana takes 14 piercing damage.
- Whistler and Ireniana get AoO on HB3.
- Rosie and Nyx AoO on BB3.

Droop shrieks as the Hobgoblins and Bugbears run by him.  He drops his bow and draws his shortsword, taking a swipe at BB3: 7, but it scrapes along the shield of the Bugbear.  He disengages and backs up.

Baeshra will attack the nearest bugbear left on his turn.

Whistler's AoO HB3: Attack: 5 Damage: 18

Round 8:

Whistler moves to HB2 and swings!

Whistler notices Ireniana is down and shouts out.

The perky little Satyr drives her attack at the oversized shaggy creature before her, screaming in pain as it lands a blow against her in retaliation. As the bugbear starts to retreat and the Hobgoblin steps forwards, the bloody Satyr spins and turn her attention towards it instead.

OCC:

Round 7 - Attack BB2 before he starts to retreat or attack her. Baeshra would give her advantage?
