As some of you creep forward quite stealthily, others plod forward not so quietly. You all pass the stairs going up to the wolf kennel and the evening light coming in from the entrance dims. Those of you without darkvision will need light to see your surroundings. I think that is only Baeshra. Baeshra, how will you proceed in the dark?
The main passage climbs steeply upward, the stream plunging and splashing down its west side. In the shadows, a side passage leads west across the other side of the stream. This passage looks so choked with rubble, you are sure it will be difficult terrain. You can see two steep escarpments, the further one is a little higher than the close one. There is a narrow ledge between the two.
Helgrid, in the shadows of the ceiling to the north, you can just make out the dim shape of a rickety bridge of wood and rope crossing over the passage ahead of you. Another passage intersects this one, twenty feet above the floor. Roll me a Perception check.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.

(OOC: This is what was entered by using the automatic dice roller [ roll ]1d20ad+2[ /roll ] But hovering over the result shows me that it rolled 4d6, and I can't figure out why. Here's a standard 1d20+2 for perception (no inspiration/advantage) in the hopes that it fixes the problem: 3)
Baeshra will put away his club and stay in the middle of the group with a torch in hand, ready to light it with produce flame, trusting his new allies to let him know when its needed.
As you are saying this, you get a better look at the bridge. It is about 20 feet above the stream. The passage you are on goes underneath the bridge and seems to wind up and to the right. The 20-foot-high walls are slick with spray, but they look rough and like it might be possible to climb them.
Gialine will put a hand on Baeshra's shoulder and guide him with the rest of the party. She turns her head to see Tildenn moving back towards the wolves and hisses "Leave them alone!"

Helgrid, you see the goblin on the bridge disappear into the tunnel on the right for a second, and then he comes back with his shortbow drawn and aimed. It looks like he noticed the party, and we are back in initiative!
Goblin Initiative: 18
Tildenn, your soft words and calm motions with your hands, coupled with the rations previously given to the wolves have calmed them, and they are allowing you to walk around the cavern being used as a kennel. You can see that each of the wolf's chains is attached to an iron rod driven into the cavern floor. A narrow opening at the back wall leads to what looks like a natural chimney, and the ground beneath this is covered in what appears to be garbage and rubbish that has fallen down from above.
Org, you are able to see a little further past the bridge and notice the path winding up and to the right.
Gialine will tell Baeshra that a goblin is up on the bridge and to watch her blast as she launches Eldritch energy at it hopefully lighting the Goblin's position briefly enough for him to see.
Gialine's Eldritch blast sails right over the Goblin's head, casting a spooky trail of light and shadows along it's path until it bursts into the cavern ceiling.
Elia puts one leg into the stream to peak around the cavern wall and get a good look at the goblin as she casts her spell. Goblin's wisdom save: 3, fail! Go ahead and roll 1d8 damage!
As Gialine's Eldritch blast is hurtling through the air, Baeshra's hand comes to light with a small flame which quickly lights his torch, and a dull orange glow now fills the passageway.
The handaxe spins over the heads of the rest of the party and thunks into the chest of the cowering goblin on the bridge, doing quite a bit of damage, but not enough to bring the goblin down.
Elia eases into the cave and to the left, attempting to be stealthy. She never did learn how to be very sneaky.

Helgrid, you just barely make out a goblin on the bridge, and it is walking very slowly and quietly off the bridge to the right.
"Watch the rear, saw one on that bridge head to the right - may try to outflank us. Let's move quietly," Helgrid whispers to Org and Baeshra.

Do we ignore the wolves? Or try to calm them down? I know, I'll be with you guys in a jiffy..
Tildenn walks into the wolf den, wondering why they haven't yet attacked them...

Your arms aren't that long! The goblin is on the bridge 20 feet above you.
Hang on, I'll roll Elia's damage and see if the goblin is still alive: 1. It is still alive!
You can try a ranged attack, or try to climb the walls and get up to the bridge or charge forward into the unknown, etc.
