The Spectator closes all of it's eyes and vanishes in a flash. Umbriel would know it has returned to it's original Plane.
Lyngheid, on the worktable in the southeast corner of the room you find a mace in great shape. The head of the mace is shaped like a sunburst and made of solid brass. You recognize the symbol of Lathander, the god of dawn on the mace. There is also a breastplate with a gold dragon motif worked into it's design.
Those proficient in Arcana can study the brazier and the green flame and make an Arcana check.
Lyngheid stepped back and let the others pick over the items, " We can barricade ourselves in and camp here for spell if someone wants to find out what they do."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Ireniana will take one look outside of the door and then help Baeshra and Whistler search the rest of the room for any items or folks who are lurking in the shadows.
Umbriel will take a look at the brazier. Arcana: 9
Umbriel, you can't be sure, but you think this brazier and the green flame could be the source of magic that is flowing throughout the room and cavern. (As you and Lyngheid are the only two proficient in Arcana, make another Arcana check since Lyngheid is helping you).
Ireniana and Baeshra scour the room, and poke their head into the door in the north, which appears to be more of the same. Lots of scorching and battle damage. The door out of that northern room seems to be stuck, you feel confident that no one will be coming through there without a lot of noise.
You also discover, underneath the breastplate, a ring.

"Curious, this seems to be channeling magical energy throughout the region. I'm not sure we should tinker with this flame just yet, not until we've fully explored the place." Arcana with help: 16
Baeshra will take the ring and look at his reptilian hands, “Maybe... let’s try and figure out what it is first.” If folk are willing, he’s happy to spend a short rest identifying it.

Alright folks this is it. Umbriel is sure of it.
This green flamed brazier is the fabled Forge of Spells.
Umbriel, after studying it with Lyngheid you know how it works. The magic has faded so it no longer permanently enchants items, but:
Any non-magical weapon or armor put into the flames for 1 minute becomes a +1 weapon or armor for 1d12 days. Additionally, when someone is doing this, roll an Arcana check. On a 16 or higher, a weapon gets to add 1d6 (cold, fire, poison, lightning, thunder, necrotic) damage to every damage roll (your choice at the time of immersion).
So, who wants to first? For each item, roll an Arcana check and 1d12.
Additionally, are some members going to sit for an hour and try to identify the other items?

As the realization hits, Umbriel's eyes widen. He describes what he suspects to the group, and then decides to test it with his pact weapon. "I have a special bond with this weapon that already grants me additional lethality, but in the interest of channeling an elemental aspect..."
Inserting his scimitar into the flame, Arcana check: 16, hoping for necrotic damage.
If it sticks, it'll take for 12 days.
(oh well. Umbriel is down for a short rest to identify those items, he'll stand watch while others rest and ponder the mysteries of the arcane. Perception: 12)
I'll post later tonight the results of the short rest to identify the magic items, Rosie's equipment in the Forge of Spells.
Where does the party want to go after this? There is the passageway north where the Boom sound seems to becoming from, the tunnel to the west where Nyx saw a flash of firelight, or back the way you came in and explore a different area of the mine.
Lyngheid glared mildly at Baeshra, she didn't want the creature distracted by hallucinations of orcs yet again.
" Yes, you are released from your guardianship. We the Stonebreaker Clan thank you for your service."
"Very well, Good day!"

Whistler and Owlbear peek around the corner into the room. Scooby-Doo style.

Baeshra will beckon Whistler in to help him search the room to see what goodies are left.

I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Droop and Rosie carry the strongbox into the room.

Ireniana picks up the ring and hands it to Baeshra. "I'll let you take this one."

Well, now it's a scimitar +1 for 8 days!
Baeshra will curiously hold his shield in the flames to see what happens.
Arcana: 4
Duration: 4
Ireniana will take her nonmagical longsword and put it in the flames.
Arcana - 15
If it takes - 4
She'll also turn to Droop. "Droop, put your sword in the forge."
I have an intelligence of six, I know what I'm doing.
Droop rushes over and puts his Shortsword in the fire: Arcana: 2, days: 10
And his shortbow: Arcana: 10, days: 1
And then squirms out of his newly fitted Studded Leather Armor and holds that in the flame: Arcana: 5, days: 9

(Could we get a pic of the explored map so far?)
Nyx heads over with her rapier and dagger.
OCC:
Arcana Rapier 5 Days 10
Arcana Dagger 20 Days 10
If we are resting can I have another go at the chest?
