Baeshra and his mostly dead snake summon repeat their respective assaults on the giant.

Alright, the hits start landing and the last Fire Giant falls.  We are out of initiative.  What does the party do now?

Droop would like to scavenge for some of his arrows and take a short rest.

Whistler whistles Owlbear off the giant, gives his loyal companion a pat and instantly falls asleep on his beloved sword.

" We need to find somewhere secure to rest up."

" As soon as possible.", she finished looking around at the battered forms of her companions.

"Indeed," sighs Umbriel. "That one was a little too close for my liking. That big fellow has a wand like this one," he holds up the locating rod. "I think it's safe to say we will encounter more teams of giants looking for pieces of that device. We should catch our breath here, then find a more secure location as Lyngheid suggests."

Umbriel will take a short rest, and spend a hit die - 8

Ireniana will clean her sword and stretch her limbs.

Nyx will gather as many bolts as she can find before searching the trolls and giants, as well as taking a rest, boiling some tea for those that want it.

Droop goes with Nyx and they spend a couple minutes gathering half of the ammo they shot.

Then he takes a short rest: 18 and two more: 25 

What's the plan after the short rest?

"We're here to find a troll nest, yes? The trolls we just killed had to come from somewhere, perhaps we can track them back to their point of origin. Along the way, if we find a place to rest for the night, so much the better," Umbriel muses. 

Ireniana nods. "Agreed." 

Baeshra sinks comfortably into the swampy waters and floats as he rests, rising with the others, "Do you think there are more than these out there? How many trolls are in a nest?"

Nyx makes some interesting findings:

1. Each of the trolls has a manacle around their neck, with chains attached.
2. The Fire Giant with the Rod of the Vonindod also has a key that goes to each of the manacles on the trolls.
3. The Fire Giants and the trolls all look skinnier than you would expect.
4. Nyx remembers that she overheard the Fire Giants yelling at the Trolls about being hungry before the fight broke out.

Each of the giants has a large, ratty bag.  Inside the bags you find a Mangy fur pelt, a giant-sized bone comb and a human sized riding saddle in good condition.

Nyx also finds a single diamond worth 300 gold pieces.

(How big are the keys and manacles? It might behoove us to take a set along, just in case.)
