Ouch!  Yes, everyone notices you ponder an item in your hand for a moment.

Nyxs looks around at everyone looking at her. "Ohh well yes, there was also this big.. shinny.. dimond. Good find. Well done me, yes? But but what about the giants and trolls? They look like they are all starved and hungry. That's what we should talk about, not the dimond...."

Umbriel stares at her for a moment, oblivious to the social implications. "That diamond may prove useful if one of us should fall, so take care and don't lose it. As for the other items, I've no personal interest in mangy hides, but I'm curious about the saddles. Are there any markings on them to determine their origin?" 

" So...the giants and trolls are underfed which may mean they're being used by someone more powerful who won't let them indulge...probably this Duke person because theres very little that can stop a hungry giant."

" Is there any dry land nearby....or better yet..stone?  Baeshra, do you have anyway of finding out.......you seem to get along with this place."

Whistler happily snores away.

"Great minds Umbriel, that is what I was thinking. Just keeping it safe. Soooo you know I may look like a city gal but I also know a thing or two about travel and surviving out in the wilderness."

The satyr find a higher perk and has a look around for a good place to rest which is dry and out of the swamp.

You see clearly that there isn't any dry land or stone in the vicinity, it's all marshy swamp and lots of vegetation.

Any who want can make a History check to see if they recognize the marking on the saddle.

Using his familiarity with swamps and marshes in general from his homeland, Baeshra ponders where such a dry, solid area might be found.

(Turns out, there is no such thing as dry land, its all a myth.)

Ireniana and Nyx, you can't place the emblem on the saddle, but you know it's not the emblem of any of the fancy houses you know of.

Baeshra, you are correct, you aren't able to recall where any dry land might be. 

But, theer are plenty of marsh plants and trees where a short rest can be had.

Nyx points to the most comfortable looking grove to tress she can see. "It looks like we are just going to have to rest in there for now. Out of the say of prying eyes and off the ground as much as we can hope."

Short rest, or try for a long rest?

(it's greater risk, but I think most of us would benefit from the long rest, yes?) 

Before we do anything, Umbriel will use the Rod of the Vonindod twice - once to look for adamantine chunks nearby, and once to see if there are any other Rods of the Vonindod around (just making sure we won't be surprised by another giant patrol). 

Whistler snores angrily. 

Lyngheid settles down for a long rest, volunteering herself for last watch.
