Umbriel doesn't notice any sign of pursuit. The prisoners are hobbling along, barely keeping up and slowing the group down.
Baeshra is able to pinpoint the correct path, noticing fresh tracks in the dirt at a Y in the tunnels, and the tunnels start to slowly get lighter.
Nyx, however, still doesn't see any sign of the exit, and is starting to get worn out.
Droop's Con Save: 12
Nyx, Whistler, and Droop all take another point of exhaustion.
The party (minus Nyx), hurries towards the light and reaches the bottom of the spiral staircase to the surface. Just as you do, Droop collapses to the ground, gasping for air. "Droop tired and exhausted! Can't move!" (His speed is 0).
Baeshra, with your passive perception, you hear a faint pounding coming from behind, it sounds large enough to be giants, definitely not Nyx.
What does everyone do?
Nyx, another Survival round, and Con Save if you please.
Umbriel sends a Message to Nyx: "Where are you? We hear giants behind us, in pursuit. If you hear nothing, sit and wait, we'll lure them away and come back for you. We have to get these prisoners out. You can reply to this message."
He then picks Droop up and puts him on his back. "We have to keep moving, or they'll enslave us all, or worse!"

Ireniana stumbles a bit and moves forward a little bit. "We can't do this much longer. Keep moving forward, I'll stay behind and see if I can hold them off to buy you some time."
Nyx pauses for a moment to try and get her bearings. This brief respite is enough for her to catch her breath and at least not get more exhausted. A look at the mine tunnels surrounding her is enough for her to realize that she hasn't been getting closer to their exit, although she is still going up, so must be getting closer to the surface. (temporarily pause here until we find out what the rest of the party is going to do).
Ireniana prepares to make a stand at the bottom of the stairs and buy some time for the others. Umbriel picks up Droop, and begins heading up the stairs, sending a message to Deselphine and the air ship?
Lyngheid is starting to get desperate, she is terribly worried about Nyx somewhere out there lost in the dark and she stops dead when Ireniana makes her statement. Handing her burden over to Baeshra she nods to Ireniana.
" Need some company?"
She looks across to Umbriel, " Tell Nyx.....tell........"
Nyx is still wandering around in the mines. Nyx, are you still dashing?
The party gets to the top of the stairs and sees daylight coming from the entrance to the circular room. The dwarves with you blink their eyes, "been a long time since we've seen the sun. Do you have a way out of here?"
As Umbriel emerges at the rear of the group, Droop on his back, he nods. "Just a moment," and he casts Message toward the airship. "We could use an expeditious exit, fire giants on our tail."

Once you get out of the chamber with the water wheel shaft, you are able to see the airship and send your message. Deselphine replies: "On it, get to the fields we set down in before."
Rushing to the fields, and ushering the dwarves along, you arrive just as Deselphine sets the ship down. "Hurry! Load 'em up!" While the dwarves are climbing aboard, the giants burst through the huge doorways to the cavern, about 300 feet away and start rushing toward the ship.
Meanwhile, Nyx takes a moment to stop, look, listen and smell: Perception14
Nyx, you don't hear Whistler, or anything else really, except your heart pounding in your chest. You don't detect any signs of pursuit, or anyone else close by.

Lyngheid planted her feet and refused to move, " I'm not abandoning Nyx down there."
" Get everyone aboard and to safety."
She nodded to the other dwarves, " Lyngheid Rockbreaker. Make sure they spell it right."
She gritted her teeth and waited for the giants to arrive.
Ireniana bit her lip hearing Lyngheid's words then returned to helping the other dwarves board the ship.
