Umbriel stops in the doorway, and keeps Droop from entering. "Be careful, that looks like a guardian to me."
Droop nods his head, eyes wide.
From that Arcana check, you recognize that the iron golem is deactivated, and usually they can't be activated without the proper command word. Based on your experience, the magic rune can probably be removed while the golem is not active.
(feeling depleted in spell casting power, and not trusting the room or the golem despite what he knows via the Arcana check, he'll stick with his original course of action and grab Droop and rejoin the others)
You don't hear anything from within the room. Through the small crack in the door, you are able to make out an enormous bed, and wooden wardrobes, this seems to be a bedroom, empty of creatures.

Nyx nodes. She checks the doors (both of them for traps) before opening the north and seeing if she can steal herself in without being noticed (assuming she see nothing inside).

Nyx spends a minute to look over the doors, even jumping as high as she can to try and see the tops. But she can't quite get high enough to investigate the top of the doors. Regardless, no traps are found.
After pushing the doors open enough that she can sneak through, she pokes her head in, doesn't see anything, then steps into the room.
It looks empty of creatures.
You see an enormous bed with a frame made from crisscrossing iron sword blades welded together. Dangling above the bed are large chains and manacles. A 15-foot-diameter shield made from adult black dragon scales is displayed on the north wall behind the bed. An iron chandelier hangs from the ceiling over the center of the room, near the foot of the bed. A chain connected to the chandelier is snagged on an iron hook mounted to the east wall above a 10-foot-tall basalt table with some valuable items resting on it and a large iron chest tucked underneath it.
Two wardrobes of fire-scorched wood stand against the west wall. A giant barrel in the southeast corner serves as a stool and rests in front of a burnished, full-length mirror mounted in the south corner of the east wall. An iron brazier hangs from a hook mounted on the south wall near the door.
Lyngheid and Ireniana move towards the chest to help Umbriel, and get distracted by items on top of the table. It's a 10 foot tall table, so Ireniana stands on Lyngheid's shoulders and is able to get a good look at what distracted them.
There's a large obsidian hair brush decked with jewels, it looks quite valuable and also large, probably around 75 pounds.
There's a large tinder box that also looks like it weights about 75 pounds, but it's made of ebony and inlaid with flames of melted gold.
Next to the tinderbox is a hand mirror with a gilded iron handle and frame, it's large enough to weigh more than 100 pounds.
And then there's a beautiful bronze jewelry chest that is closed.
(Once Umbriel sees the golem and warns Droop, he'll back away slowly and rejoin the group.)
Droop nods his head, eyes wide.

The group gathers at the intersection, one hall leading north, one south. Which door to try first?
Baeshra carefully cracks open the north door and listens for a moment, if he doesn't hear anyone, he opens it the rest of the way.

" North first, it is then.", she said, joining Baeshra.
" Nyx? Wanna check it out first?"

As Nyx enters in, Baeshra follows to help search.
Lyngheid peeks in, taking in the chains over the bed and cocks an eyebrow at Nyx.
" Duke Zalto has hidden depths...."
Haha!
Nyx, or anyone else, you've got some help from Baeshra to search the room. From the magical pull of the conch, you all are certain it is in this room.
Umbriel, of course, closes his eyes, extends his arms, and lets tendrils of shadow creep through the room, detecting anything with a magical aura.
You get multiple hits, all coming from within the chest under the tall basalt table.
Lyngheid moves in the help move and lift heavy things.....and maybe look for some diamonds for spells....

Ireniana will also help move some stuff and look around.

Umbriel whispers to Nyx "All the magical items are in that chest - is it locked? Trapped? Both?"
" Whats up there? Grab it!", Lyngheid tensed to carry the extra weight, trusting in her back and gauntlets...
Nyx checks the chest and if confident, opens it.
