Baeshra shakes his head, "There are such magics, they are beyond what I'm capable of. Just have to sit and wait. Maybe go hunting for some fresh meat..."
Umbriel glances up, quickly. Baeshra was an ally, a friend, but every now and then, he got a certain tone in his voice when talking about fresh meat that sent a shiver down the pale elf's spine.
"I'll stay here; if you happen to see any rogue's morsel mushrooms, though, I'd appreciate a handful. Thank you, my friend."
The storm continues through the day, and it's a few hours into the night when the winds die down, but the temperature starts dropping. The rain turns to freezing rain and ice coats the landscape and the ship, it's not pleasant outside. Deselphine rotates the watch periodically to give everyone a respite from the sleet.
Is everyone hanging out in the ship, turning in for the night? Anyone going hunting?
Baeshra will shift into a Bristled Moorbounder to go hunting for some game.
Survival(?): 12
Very nice! You leap off the ship, the sleet doesn't slow you down too much. You're able to track down several rabbits, enough to feed yourself but that's it. Not much else is moving in the inclement weather.
After Baeshra returns from his hunt and the party beds down for the night, Lyngheid takes her watch on the deck (alone?). It's late in the night, the sleet shows no sign of letting up, everything is still coated in ice, but at least the wind has died down. With that perception roll, you hear a soft grunt from the crows nest above the balloon, and strain as you can, you don't hear or see anything else.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Just as you make it to the base of the rope ladder, you are startled by a blurry shape whizzing by you from down the frosty ladder, and you feel a sharp twinge:
But it's more of a tickle really, you catch just a glimpse of a very small, blueish creature racing past as it stabs 3 times at you with what looks like a dagger. You've got just enough time for a Reaction attack as it moves out of your range.
It slips right under your arm as it races off the ship. Just then, a loud thud sounds right next to you as a lifeless body of Sharnil, who was standing guard in the crows nest slides down the rope and lands on the deck.
Lyngheid, your Medicine check reveals there is nothing more to be done.
Umbriel, your passive perception picks up nothing except Desalphine coming While Lyngheid is checking the body for signs of life, Desalphine comes on deck at the sound of the alarm, and calls out "ALL HANDS ON DECK!"
Then Lyngheid and Umbriel, your hear a loud thud-clomp sound that sounds like iron hitting wood, as something climbs over the side and hops onto the deck. You don't have a good look at it, but it is charging towards you.
Two more whirs start from the bow of the ship heading toward Lyngheid, the same whoosh sound that you heard from the "very quick, very stabby little bugger".

Lyngheid looked sideways at Nyx, " You kept your feet better than me, but if you feel like your going to get blown away I'm a willing anchor."
" Baeshra! Do you have any power of the wind and storms to bring to bear?"
Baeshra shakes his head, "There are such magics, they are beyond what I'm capable of. Just have to sit and wait. Maybe go hunting for some fresh meat..."

Lyngheid will sit watch and try to stay dry, she's not really built for hunting...she wont say no to company on her watch.

Lyngheid sighs and begins the long climb up to the crows nest.....

" OW!", yells out Lyngheid.
" What in the hells was that?"
Lyngheid opens a flat hand directly in the creatures path hoping to stop its passage abruptly.

" EVERYBODY UP! MURDER!"
" Little fairy bastard."
Lyngheid sent a prayer up to the Mother and dozens of armed dwarf Matrons rose up out of the deck.

She then knelt down to see what aid could be given...
HA!
Make a Medicine check.
The rest of the party hears the alarm raised by Lyngheid.

Umbriel runs up to the deck, staff in hand, shielding his eyes from the sleet. "What's going on?"
" Very quick, very stabby little bugger.", Lyngheid called back, daring the little one to brave her 'sisters'.
