(OOC: So Resilient Sphere can't form around multiple people in the party, so I'll say it encloses Zorgar and the phylactery at his feet.)
Kor'Zakal roars as he sees Hrothgar snatch up the Phylactery. He points forward and Vargath moves up ahead of him as they close ranks with the party, Lia's spikes flying in to plink away at his body as he growls in annoyance.
Lair Action: Seeing Aerdeth raising his bow, he points at the warlock and a crackling cord of dark energy tethers them together moments before his arrows come flying through the air at him. Aerdeth's Con Save DC18 (1): 10 DMG: 13 on failure Aerdeth's Con Save DC18 (2): 28 DMG: 17 on failure
As Hrothgar puts the amulet down, Zogar swings down with his hammer, but at the last second, Kor'Zakal reaches his hand out and the amulet moves to try and get back to it's owner. Hrothgar grabs onto the amulet and pulls it back around for Zogar to strike again, but the amulet tries to pull away a second time ruining the strike as Hastings runs up and prepares to defend his friends.
Hrothgar pulls the amulet back around again and Lia's sphere pops up keeping the amulet contained inside. Hrothgar bids Zogar strike again, and he does, smashing his hammer down hard into the crystal pendant causing it to crack and the lich stumbles to one knee and screams in agony.
Vargath runs up trying to get to Hrothgar as he had the amulet and his sword begins to shimmer with a blackish light as he swings and slashes his sword along the ground and a wave of dark thunderous energy ripples out in a large wide wave striking everyone except Zogar in his sphere. Behind his shield Hrothgar still feels the power and shocks of the strike almost knocking him back. He glances to his side to see other are hit as well. He grits his teeth, knowing they are vulnerable bundled up. But seeing the lich hurt by the strike on the amulet reassures him in his actions.
He looks back Destroy that amulet! We will delay them.He says as he charges forward towards Vargath and before reaching him makes a small leap with his shield facing forward. He draws his sword back and thrusts it forward to find a space in his armor to pierce the knight.
First sword Attack: 14 Damage: 8
As Hrothgar lands sweat falls from his face from the strain of the battles. But he does not stop, he continues the onslaught to buy time for his allies. He swings his sword in an arc towards the side of the knight.
Second sword Attack: 12 Damage: 12
Following through on the motion he does a backhand swing with his sword turning his body and ending with a shield in front, drawing it towards himself and taking another step towards the knight. Not expecting to bring down the large knight but trying to keep his attention he bashes his shield at the creature trying to knock it down.

Hastings grits his teeth before he rushes forward to attempt to finish off the Knight. He will deftly stab forward with his rapier before following it with his dagger.
Aerdeth grunts as he is struck by both the lich's bolts and the death knight's blow. Undeterred, he flies another 30 feet in the air (now 60 up) and fires two more arrows at his target. All this effort would be for naught if he let Kor'Zakal reclaim that phylactery.

The second arrow, upon striking the lich, explodes into grey, whirling arcane devastation with Aerdeth's Eldritch Smite: 58 force damage (and theoretically knocking him prone.)

In the comparative safety of Lia's sphere, Zogar takes a deep, relaxing breath, carefully eyes the amulet, raises his Forge Blessed Mace and brings the hammer down with all his might.
Attack: 18 Damage: 11 (The 1d8 is fire damage from Divine Strike)
Lia and Emma's Skeletal hands latch on to the lich as the spikes fly through the air, puncturing holes in his skeletal form as he attempts to rise.
Heaving his body up into a standing position, Kor'Zakal raises his head to see Aerdeth firing two arrows at him, one catching him in the chest, the other striking him directly in the face and exploding, cracking the skull and knocking him backwards to the ground. The crack in the lich's skull begins spewing forth arcane energy wildly in a colorful torrent.
Hrothgar attacks the death knight who fends him off, but in doing so creates a distraction, allowing the rogue to catch him from the back and stab his weapons directly through the knight's armor.
Kor'Zakal screams in agony as arcane energy spilled out of him as he tries in vain to stem the flow of power being released. As he looks up, searching for his phylactery, he sees Zorgar raise his hammer into the air one last time, bringing it down hard on the amulet again. With a resounding crack heard in the mind as well as in the air, the amulet shatters in an arcane explosion that roars out, obliterating the shield around Zogar and scorching everything it touches in a hundred foot diameter sphere.
Everyone wakes up shortly after, ears ringing and a sharp mental hum slowly fading in their heads. The body of the lich lies on the ground nearby, the knight nothing more than smoking armor fragments once more.
"Well, that was not what I would exactly call fun..." lia says as she stumbles to her feet. She holds her head a bit, glancing around as she looks over the others. "Is everyone in one piece?" She asks, reaching down to help Emma to her feet.

As Hrothgar wakes up again he sits up holding his head with one hand and looks around to see the current situation. He makes sure he spots everyone in the group to see if they are still moving.
He gets up to his feet, still a bit wobbly. The lich is finally destroyed. With help from the legion of the dead it seems.
Still trying to puzzle together what just happened he looks onward to the stairs to see if the fighting has stopped for the other groups as well (@DM would he have view of it from here?)
He then gazes at the bodies used in the experiment and thinking of those above in the cages. The cost however is great.
Hrothgar walks to the bodies to inspect them, to see if they might show signs of life or have something on their bodies that could identify them to their kin.
Aerdeth is the last to awaken - the flood of necrotic energy had shaken his own tenuous mortality. Obliviation had vanished with his consciousness, and he saw no need to summon it.
He pulls himself into a seated position, arms draped over his knees as he looks around
"Aye, Hrothgar. Their lives were forfeit before we even arrived. Perhaps we saved their souls, though. May your god or mine guide them. . . As for that other lich. . . Men quarrel among themselves. It shouldn't surprise me that craven, corrupt dead men do so as well."

Hastings groans slightly as he moves to return his weapons to the scabbards on his belt running his hand through his hair as he turns to look at the others. "It seems that we have won?"
Searching through what remains of the villagers bodies proves to be fruitless as they appear to have been stripped clean of all valuables and personal belongings down to their under clothing that was left on. After a few minutes search you find their outer clothing along with a small clay bowl with what appear to be a few necklaces and rings under one of the tables. The necklaces and rings appear to be sentimental only in value, some carved from wood, bone, and even small stones.
The knight again had burned away, leaving charred and smoking husks from what was left of his armor, his weapon nowhere to be found. The body of the lich lies nearby, smoke still lightly flowing from the scattered bones it had shattered into. It's hands, seemingly left whole after the ordeal, you find in the center of the destruction each one bearing two rings that glow, almost as if they had fed from the power scattered about in the destruction of Kor'Zakal.
Each of the rings have intricate arcane symbols carved into the surface of the band all the way around, the symbols on the top of each ring weaved together in such a way as to create pictures, a different one on each ring representing air, earth, fire and water.
Hrothgar will pick up the necklaces, rings and other belongings from inside the clay bowl. Putting it in his bag so it can be returned to their kin.
Seeing Lia study the rings he will speak up. Be carefull Lia. Who knows what evil resides in those rings.
Moving to the centre he looks around.
You all fought well.Looking at Aerdeth sincerely but without joy in his expression. And followed your hearts in battle, this i know. Turning his gaze towards the bodies. Our victory is not without loss. But the evil has been defeated this day and the land, and its people can heal now.
He knews he does not have to act overjoyed in this victory, the group knows him to well for that. He did not say it, but all would know the battle with the legion of the dead was far from over.
He walks towards the steps leading back up. Only turning his head halfway. If we are done here, let us go find our allies and make sure those that survived are cared for.
Hrothgar then continues walking up the steps, his body appearing heavy taking each step as his mind goes over the events that just passed.
Hrothgar: You walk up the steps to find the other two parties coming down. They are hurt and bloody from their fight the vampires, but they all seem to be intact and ok. Aden steps forward and hands you the hilt of your Sun Blade. "It only worked for a small amount of time, but it definitely made the difference, Thank you my friend, and congratulations on defeating the lich."
Lia slips the rings into her pouch and moves to follow the group's erstwhile leader. "The rings are powerful, but not dangerous." She informs him. "They appear to be rings of elemental command, which can be quite helpful."
