Sanjay will start to head towards the Eastern passage.

Salem quietly nods her agreement and follows along.

You all immediately notice a strong smell as you turn towards the east tunnel, and with your first steps you can see and feel bat guano all over the floor.  It's very slippery. Everyone except for Faineant has Darkvision however, and now that you're away from the cave entrance this becomes immediately noticeable, as she says "Wait... umm..  I can't see anything in here.  It smells terrible though.  Can you all see?"

Thistle quietly shares what she can see with Faineant. She speaks in just above a whisper as a precaution, just in case there is anything that may be disturbed by louder noises.

(Perception roll just in case: 12 )

Sanjay uses his Druidcraft to light a torch and hands it to her - bracing himself before he lights it in case the bats go crazy.

Thistle made no disturbance as she whispered to Faineant, but just as she looked up to notice a Swarm-of-Bats, Sanjay lit a torch.  The Swarm-of-Bats open their eyes screeching, and immediately attack, heading straight for the light source first -  Sanjay.

Sanjay takes the full force of the Swarm who are beyond angry at the abrupt awakening. They fly at his face still screeching, biting at him and causing 7 damage.

It is Faineant's turn.

((I'm moving for Faineant as it's been over 24 hours.))

Faineant saw the swarm swoop down just after Sanjay lit a torch, and she rises up 5 ft. so as to be more on their level.  Faineant faces the swarm, and casts Eldritch Blast at it.

Attack: 8 Damage: 2 

((It's my bad for missing it, but since the floor is slippery and Sanjay was attacked, he should make an Acrobatics check to see if he stayed standing.  lol  Sorry.

The force from her spell is aimed near perfectly, and the swarm takes 7 damage.

Thistle is up!

"This is why I tried to whisper," Thistle huffs as she lines the sights of her shortbow, aiming at the thickest cluster of the swarm she can see.

 Attack: 19 Damage: 5

Thistle tags a bat right in the middle and it falls.  The swarm has had enough and flies over their heads, past Faineant, and out of the cave.

Combat has ended.

"Ugh," Senine groans, "I swear, nothing good ever comes from caves. It's been constant shit since we got here."

Sanjay acrobatics: 20

"Ah, shit," Sanjay says. "I definitely should have thought more about that. I knew there were bats there. I didn't think they would attack us. Do any of you have a med kit, or anything? Those bats got me pretty good."

Senine shakes her head, "Fraid not. Used what supplies I had on the trek up to these parts. Stupid of me not to resupply knowing we were coming out here." She says, coming up to check his wounds over(Medicine check: 15 ) "Suppose I was caught up in the moment. It's been a while since I've been with a group."

"I appreciate the thought, at the least," Sanjay says. "Honestly, it was dumb of me, as well, not to buy a potion or two before we came out here." He chuckles at himself in embarrassment for such an oversight. "It'll be fine," he says. "I'll be fine."

Senine sees that Sanjay has some fairly deep gashes around his neck and shoulders from the bats biting at him, but though it's left him weakened he will not lose more health from his injuries.

Now that the bats have cleared out, the torch remains lit and you can see clearly 20 ft out from it.

"Do you guys think there's anything worthwhile in those crates?" Salem nods her head in their direction, pointing them out from across the room.
