"Hello Thagren, I am Rhok. My group came across some items that Linene referred me to you. These hand crossbows require some work to be operational again, looking at your work, it seems this should be an easy task for you?" Rhok says to the dwarf
Thagren looks at the weapons, turning them over, testing the spring arm on one, the trigger lever from another and the grip from the third. Then speaks "I could use the parts from this one to repair the other two. I could have them done in three days for 20 gp or I can rush them tonight if you are willing to pay twice that."
The dragonborn makes his way to the local smithy, hoping for dwarven but a human one would suffice, to exchange his unwieldly javelins for darts...
Xarroth walks towards the smithy to find Rhok already talking with a dwarven blaksmith. After inquiring about weapons he is redirected to the Lionshield Coster, where Linene happily takes his business.
"Hmm, we're probably heading out tomorrow, I have 35 gold at the moment, but once I sell this studded leather to Linene I can give you the other 5 gold, if that would enable you to fix them for the morning?" Rhok offers to the dwarf
Xarrothpresents his serviceable javelin for selling and looks to purchase twenty darts, happy to cover the further costs.
Lienne happily takes the 7 silver and the used Javelin in exchange for a set of 20 darts "I hope this ones find their target better than this old javelin."

"Aye, those 35 gp would get me started. You can pay the difference next morning after I finish the job." replies the dwarf in a merry tone. It seems that he is happy to work on something other than farming equipment.
Lienne offers you 15 gp for the studded leather "as I will have to wash and patch it up in a couple places before I'll be able to sell it to someone else."
"Thank you master dwarf, I look forward to seeing your completed work in the morning, and I will bring the 5 gold at that time" Rhok smiles and gives a thankful nod to the dwarf
"Thank you! That will work perfectly" Rhok replies to Linene
Lothlién goes with Lia to the Inn and also rents a room. He'll spent some time scribbing a Magic Missiles scroll. He won't be able to finish it in one night, but he'll use any spare time to work on it - for instance, since he sleeps only 4h each night, maybe he can keep working while the others sleep their full 8h?
Xarrothchuckles at the human, "Most definitely." The dragonborn flips the dart before catching it again and putting it away with a proud smile on his face.
He pays another 3sp to the local temple services that provide shelter for the ill or needy. He will even volunteer for a few hours before catching dinner and sleep himself.

Phandalin is not big enough for a temple yet, but you find a shrine near the inn. It has a bowl for collections, from which people take coins when in need. Asking the people that come to pay their respects you learn that is dedicated to Tymora, goddess of luck and good fortune, and usually tended by Sister Garaele. The acolyte is currently attending a ceremony in Neverwinter and no one knows for sure when she'll be back.
OOC: Xarroth gains inspiration.
Nigh comes, people return to their homes after a day of work and you find yourselves back at the inn. Toblen has prepared wild boar, courtesy of the messenger that arrived from Falcon's Hunting Lodge. Most people at the dining room are not in a talking mood, but there are a few that drank too fast and loudly talk about an old temple near the ruins of Conyberry, where the monks hid a huge treasure that no one has been able to find yet.
OOC: Lothlién is a half-elf and still needs to sleep, only full elves get the trance trait. You can still start with the scroll and keep track on how long you spend each day.
Rhok, sitting and having dinner and drink, overhearing about Conyberry, would ask a waitress/waiter where that might be located. That would be a great boon to the party
Lia enjoys the food and talk. "Isn't that the place we went and found all the orcs?" She asks. "An old temple by Conyberry, seems to be the shrine place, doesn't it?"
"Indeed, an interesting plan. But may I remind how fortunate we were with our first encounter. Lia's impressive display of spellcraft won the day there; we cannot count on being that lucky again."Xarroth sips his wine before digging back into the boar.
"Xarroth has a good point. We need to be more powerful and better equipped to have a fight with real chances. There's that dragon slayer sword thing... but is any of us skilled with a blade?" Lothlién goes on, his mind now set on a long-term thinking
"So, where should we go first? My vote is for Falcon's, since it sounds like the place where people are endangered." Lothlién proposes, but his tone makes it cear that he's open to suggestions
Xarroth comes in from doing his morning prayers in the dawning sun, "Yes, the day grants me that wisdom too. The lodge sounds best. I am packed and ready if you all are?" He pours himself a tea.

OOC: about downtime, since Lothlién is proficient in Arcane, you could go for creating spell scrolls, or you could find a different option from here: https://dnd.wizards.com/articles/unearthed-arcana/downtime

"That sounds like good business... but is it a good idea to chase treasures while the dragon threat is getting worse?" Lothlién speaks, a bit worried.
"Might not be the best idea, but dragons typically like treasure right? It could be a nice lure" Rhok replies

"There is also that fortress to be reopened." Lia reminds the group. "Maybe something there that could aid us as well."
Night comes and you retire to your rooms to rest. Coming back to the common room soon after dawn, ready to decide where to go next.
