"Dwarfs no doubt." Lia says with a shrug. "I too would prefer a nice outdoorsy place, not somewhere dug into the side of a mountain, but this is not our place, just one we are clearing out for the village." She follows towards the northern door.
There is a short hallway before the northern door. Wide arrowslits flank the passage leading to it. The door is even more intricately decorated than the one that let you enter the great hall. Peeking throug the arrowslits you see a ballista pointing at you on the other side of each.
Halfway up the door rests an oak beam, reinforced with brass plates, over two iron brackets keeping the doors securely locked in place. Everything points that this is the main entrance to the fortress.
Rhok looks to see if the oak beam is locked in place "shall we see if we can move this quietly so we don't announce our presence to whatever might be beyond these doors?"
(DM, not sure of description, but do we feel this door leads back out of the complex? I.E. to the front gate we first saw as we approached from outside.)
@DragonDenn, yes. The door locked with an oak beam is the one that leads outside. When you first arrived you saw a tunnel entrance, closed by a portcullis and a large double door after it. On both sides were arrowslits with ballistas pointing to the tunnel. The innermost ballista on each room is pointing to the continuation of the same tunnel, inside the great hall you are occupying now.
"I say we leave that bar in place for now." Lia suggests. "Best to keep the front door locked until we are ready to open the place up fully for the dwarfs." She glances back the way they came. "Shall we pick a different door to check out?" She asks, starting away from the main front door to the place.
"All these violent devices - perhaps we could get a skilled eye to see if they are in good function?" The dragonborn quietly suggests as he follows the group.
Leaving the main doors closed, you keep moving to the eastern set of doors. After stopping to listen for a moment and hearing nothing from the other side, you push them open to reveal another hall very similar to the one on the west end where you fought the ghouls.
This new room connects to a hallway going north and its eastern wall is strewn with debris. Among the broken bricks there is a tunnel going south west. A potent death stench emanates from this tunnel.
"Best case, it's something rotting that may attract monsters... worst case, it's a foul smelling monster... In both cases, I guess we should take a look there instead of living it behind us" Lothliénsuggests, even though he's notably disgusted by the smell
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Carefully walking over the rubble you make your way through the half collapsed tunnel. About 20 steps in you find a smashed door on the floor. The stench of death and decay grows stronger as you keep going. The tunnel makes a couple of sharp turns and you start to hear hisses and snarls. After one last turn you are at the northern entrance of a small room containing 5 ghouls aimlessly roaming around.
The undead turn to face you and start to growl louder!

Rhok goes first. Feel free to pick your marching order.
OOC: I think it makes sense of Lothlién was first in line, since he suggested taking that way. I'm on half my life tho, so I'd appreciate some help lol
"Why do they build large rooms inside caves? If they like wide open spaces, they should try outside..." Lothlién mumbles
He then enters the room, carefully walking towards the north door.
"lol, I guess as long as they can delve, theyre happy?" Rhok replies as he follows Lothlien

Lothlién nods in agreement, joining the others

"Absolutely!" Lothlién replies. "Those things can be useful agains the dragon itself, huh?"

"We dispose of them, in case they pose a threat at a inopportune time." Xarroth whispers, his jaw clearly clenched at the smell.
"Agreed, we should eliminate the threat, never know when the townsfolk will need to use the fortress" Rhok replies
