"Sorry." Lia says from behind the others. "We found this old tunnel in the throne room and followed it to see where it lead." She explains. She glances between the kings. "I do not believe it is up to us as to what is done between you two." She finally says. "I personally do not like that one of you is being held here against his will, but I also do not think it would be diplomatic for us to free one king against the other king's wishes either." She glances to the free king. "If we find this shape changer, will you free your companion king?"

Xarroth felt the heat of aggression rise within him, but he sees the sense in his companions words. His eyes narrow as they dart between the two kings...
"I will go one step further and ask, why his His Majesty King Jebbedo is tied up to begin with?"
His eyes remain fixated on the free gnome as he answers.
Lothlién , interested in the answers to his companions' questions, slowly moves into the room, trying to look the least threatening he can and making room for the others.
While speaking you notice that king Jebbedo is not tied, but glued to the the chair he is sitting in. "I don't know what took over king Korboz. All I know is that I was just looking at some schematics in the workshop with my loyal subjects when he came running out of the trhone room. Before any of us had time to react he dragged me here and glued me to this chair. I want to get out, please help me."
Korboz speaks back to his fellow king "We have told you already, a monster is out to get us. This is the only safe place." He turns back to the party "Our missing subjects were the first clue about this monster's presence in our dwelling. The attack in the throne room was all confirmation we needed." The king's word sound sincere to Xarroth, he is more worried about the other monarch than anything else "We would love to get back again, but it just isn't safe now. Now please go back the way you came for and get rid of this monster before you return."
"Again, if we get rid of the shape changer, will you free your fellow king?" Lia asks, wishing to have the agreement set prior to doing anything further.
"If I may your highness, would I be able to look at the glue that has you fixed to the chair?" Rhokasks the King. He's wondering if the glue is anything similar to the gooey substance he looked at in the throne room
OOC: Not sure what kind of check this would be, I'll list a couple

King Korboz turns to Lia "Yes, once the danger is gone there would be no reason to stay here."
"If I may your highness, would I be able to look at the glue that has you fixed to the chair?" Rhokasks the King. He's wondering if the glue is anything similar to the gooey substance he looked at in the throne room
Korboz snaps at Rhok "stand back! We don't have time for this nonsense when there is a dangeous monster out there!" King Jebbedo, on the other hand, says "Please come and get me out of this accursed chair!"
From your point of view you can see a few spots of glue on the floor around the chair. Their color is light beige, not at all like the purple goo on the throne room.
"I think you can see our difficulty here." Lia says to the seated king. "If we try to free you, then we will have trouble with your fellow king. If we, instead, deal with this monster, then your fellow king will release you himself." She glances to her companions. "I feel that we should do a complete search of the place, getting some of the gnomes to help, and make complete sure that there is definitely no monster left, or deal with it if we find it."
Rhok raises his hands in a non threatening manner, "Apologies, nonsense was not meant"
"Excellent point Lia, Perhaps another inspection of the throne room is in order and we branch out from there?" Rhoksays to the group, then turns to the gnomes "When the monster made itself known, was it sealed inside the throne room, or were there exists it could have used?"
Once clear of gnomish earshot, Rhok tells the group "The goop where the carpet lay is different than what binds the King to the chair, I was not sure if there are two rival gnomish factions here"

When they get back to the throne room Lia will look at the goop a little closer, as she had not looked at it previously. Can she recognize anything about it?

You can see King Jebbedo's hopes disappear from his face as he hears Lia's words, but he doesn't protest your decision. King Korboz is glad to see you go.

The pile of goop is still there. Oddly it does not emit any particular smell. You could take some in a vial to study or use later if you want.

Xarrothpaces for a while, giving off a slow, low growl every now and again, "Why is King Jebbedo imprisoned to his chair? This is most odd..."

"Here is what I suggest..." Lia says, putting her hands on her hips as she glances around. "We find some spears, or something else with some length to it, and start poking and prodding everything in the place." She turns in a slow circle as she speaks. "We get the goblins to help, so we don't miss anything, and so that we can make sure nothing moves into an area we have already checked." She stops and glances to the others. "We go through every single room, and leave not a single item left untested. Are we agreed with this plan, or does someone have a better idea?"

As far as you can tell, there is nothing magical about the purple goo in the floor. It seems that it's a natural secretion from some sort of creature. There are no signs of any carpets in the throne room.
"Sounds good to me" Rhok agrees, and pulls out his sword to get ready for prodding
You start poking the furniture in the throne room. Nothing reacts to the poking.
Satisfied that there is nothing else hiding in there, you leave the throne room. The tunnel out is still illuminated by oil lamps. You fiddle with some of them and learn how to make them go up and down, making it easy to refill them when running out of oil. There are no purple stains in the floor and nothing moves when Rhok pokes it with his sword.
You arrive at a crossing. In front of you is the path to the inventors' workshop. To your left, the path to the gnome kings bedroom and a closed door that you didn't open on your way there or back. To your right is a path you have not traveled yet.

Rhok is wondering if one of the kings are responsible for the missing gnomes.
"Also, what do you know about the gnomes that went missing?"

Nothing seems out of place. You are getting used to the extra levers and ropes near every oil lamp.
