Rhok would blush slightly, "Thanks, I grew up on the streets, there was a city guard that took me under his wing, would show me how to hunt and shoot when he went out on foraging runs, took a knack to the wilderness and shooting crossbows. I've always been amazed at how you magic users are able to pull those spells out of thin air"
You set up camp next to the trail on the way to Conyberry. Rhok manages to hunt a small boar in the forest just north of the trail. Xarroth sets up a fire and you enjoy the fresh meat under the stars, with a waxing crescent moon peeking over the mountains.
At night Rhok tries on the dark lense glasses and notices that he can see a lot clearer. Asking Lia about them they figure out that these are Goggles of Night, which allow the werarer to see in darkness.
Morning comes uneventfully and you travel the rest of the way to the abandoned town of Conyberry. The ruins are silent, except for the wind blowing through the burned and crumbled down structures. You spot three unsaddled riding horses grazing near an old well. They are maked with letters reading BAK.
Lia strokes the horse's flank as she says soothing words. She waits for the others to grab the others. If they do not she would tie hers to a branch or something nearby, and move to try to calm another. (will wait on those rolls until/if the others don't try to gather the others themselves.)
Lothlién goes around the horses, looking for anyone who may claim the horses, or who may have killed the former owners
There are no signs of other animals or people in the ruins. You can clearly see the horse's hoofprints on the floor's dust, but no other tracks. It seems that the horses found their way here on their own.
Lia manages to calm a second horse, but the third one gets spooked and runs away.
OOC: in Conyberry you are five miles away from Butterskull ranch (where the orcs attacked) and five miles away from the old shrine (that was overtaken by orcs, according to the wererats.)
"Sorry, couldn't get the last one." Lia says as she walks back to the others with two of the horses in tow. "Seems we are equal-distant to both the ranch and the shrine, which do you guys want to look into first?"
"To the shrine!" Lothlién says in agreement with Xarroth. "About the horses, I think we'll go faster if we take turns on them, right? I don't mind doing the first turn walking, too"
"Works for me." Lia agrees with a nod. She mounts up and would head in that direction with the others. "Do you think we should stop before the shrine, and tie the horses to a tree?" She asks the others as they set out. "If the wererats were driven out of the shrine, then it might be good to not ride straight up to it..." As they move out she sens her owl ahead to scout the shrine ahead of their arrival.
To the shrine you go, following an old dirt trail heading south. The shrine is easily found, standing in the middle of a vast field. You hide behind some bushes while Sabastian scouts ahead.
An old stone temple with a belfry jutting from its peaked roof is enclosed by stone walls, many sections of which have collapsed. The trail ends at a crumbling gatehouse, the doors to which were sundered long ago. Three of the four towers that once stood at the corners of the outer walls have collapsed. Only the northeast tower remains, and a guard stands atop it. It seems difficult to approach without being spotted.
Sabastian spies half a dozen orcs inside the courtyard. The floor around them is littered with bones and broken weapons. Two ogres have taken residence on the southeast quadrant, it seems that the orcs are avoiding them.
"Hmm..." Lia says as the owl reports in what it sees. "We have orcs, ogres, and no easy way to approach without being seen." She looks to the others. "What do you guys think?"

Lia manages to soothe one of the horses, it acts as if used to people. You could ride it if you want.
OOC: if someone wants to take one of the remaining horses, I would ask for a Wisdom (Animal Handling) check.

The horses rear back from Rhok, acting scared, but they don't run far.
With her own horse's reigns in hand, Lia walks towards the next of the horses...

"Shrine, if it would not cause too many problems." Xarroth suggests with a bright eyes, "if it sways, I can walk while another takes horseback."

"I guess you're right, Lia. We should walk the last few hunderd yards without the horses" Lothlién agrees.
Lost in his thoughts about the wererats, Rhok agrees that stealth would be best just in case if there are more wererats, or even Orcs
